Why not just get one online from T-Mobile since you're with them? I got the activation kit for $1.08 with free activation or go I'm store and ask for a micro Sim? I've heard they'll give it to you for free.

With T-Mobile, you have two options.
1) If you have postpaid service, you can buy a Micro-SIM kit (currently $1) online from their prepaid division, and when you get the phone, you can switch to the new SIM card yourself via t-mobile.com/sim. (You can ignore and discard the rest of the prepaid kit.) There is no way to change the SIM online if you have prepaid service, so for that, you need the second option below.
2) Go to a T-Mobile store. There, they can swap the SIM for you for free, for either prepaid or postpaid service.
I'm going to do #1 because $1 is worth it for the convenience and to save the time and gas needed to go to the store.

It's telling me to select a plan when I try ordering the card.
Can I have the link which you purchased the SIM from?
At the previous links, you need an active account with them. On their prepaid, they only list the regular SIM (that I could find), so this link might be helpful for people:

Weird. I walked into a Tmobile store two weeks ago to get the Isis SIM card for my GS3 and wasn't charged anything, and again last week to get a normal SIM after selling my GS3 and wasn't charged either time.
There are T mobile deals all the time. 2-3 times a month they are just free. I got 2 last month.

After poking around for a few minutes, I was unable to find an online mechanism for getting a micro SIM from T-Mobile (US), so I gave up and called 611. It couldn't have been easier: I just said that I was buying an unlocked phone and needed a micro SIM card for it; the agent asked for the line I wanted it for and how quickly I wanted it, and they're mailing me one for free. (They offer expedited shipping for a fee, but since they quoted "up to a week" for free delivery, I took that option.)
I understand from another poster in one of the other forums that their experience was different and the customer service agent told them that they'd have to bring the phone in, so YMMV.

Same, I couldn't find it online, but I opened up a chat window with customer service and they linked me quickly. Whoever paid $1.08 must have a high sales tax in their state
When I got the maxx on release date, I wanted to use my grandparents upgrade and not mines because I wanted to keep my unlimited data. So the workers at the Verizon store tell me that "yes" I can transfer an upgrade but as soon as I put the maxx under my account it will change my unlimited data to a new upgraded device and I would loose my unlimited data. I said "get the @#%$ outta here, I've been using other peoples upgrades for years". Then I said give me one second and called Verizon and they told me me that it might work and might not work. So back into the store I went. The employees inside said that I could try transferring an upgrade but if it doesn't work that I would have to pay a $35 restocking fee. Smh!!! But I had one small window of an opportunity to still get the maxx and keep my unlimited data. Before the edge program started on Monday, I was able to put a down payment on the maxx and the rest of the balance is spread out on my monthly bills. I still have a week left to return this phone and use my grandparents upgrade to save some money but don't know if it will work. So did they play me, or can I use the transfer of someone else upgrade.

I did it. My mom had an upgrade that I used. I went to the store and they called my mom to OK it. Then I bought the maxx on her account for 300 and they activated it to her. Then they transferred it to me. Then they transferred her back to her phone. They were cool about it.

I went to the Verizon store to switch my wife's unlimited line using the new edge plan. Verizon is offering 6gb for $30 if you switch from an unlimited plan and you have an upgrade available on that line. My wife only uses an average of 1gb putter month so she wouldn't miss her unlimited data. I was going to alias out the payments over 2 years and if I looked the Maxx sell my note2.
However I found out today that I can use the upgrade on my wife's line but that the phone couldn't be transferred to another line. It would only be able to be used on the same line until the phone was paid off. I have another line available for an upgrade but I figured with this plan I can upgrade every year. Now I think I want to wait to see what is in store for the rest of the year. However I really want the Maxx I want to get back to a stock android experience.

A Verizon rep told me today that you can use someone elses upgrade, edge or not. They are just trying to get us off our unlimited plan. I use it over 100gb per month. I need my unlimited!!!

I'll clear some stuff up for you guys.
When using upgrades in the store, wherever the upgrade goes automatically removes unlimited data. If you have unlimited and use your upgrade, it's gone. If you use grandma's upgrade and have them point it to your number, it's gone. The only way to keep unlimited data was as described above. Upgrade the phone on grandma's line, activate it, reactivate grandma's old phone, and then swap the new phone onto your line. Some reps know about this and some don't, but they're not out to get you. This is just the way the system works.

Remember to tip your rep if he deserves it! Not with cash, but Verizon reps are always under pressure from management to sell you accessories, so if you were looking to pick stuff up for your phone or anything else they also stock, get it there and ask for a discount! They will absolutely hook you up if you're spending money with them.
I did this the other day managee said I can't give you the new Sim card to switch off your mothers line but I can't stop you from going to another store. So I used her upgrade drove home reactivated her iPhone online on Verizon then drove to another store said I bought this from a friend I need a Sim card. No other Verizon Sims work in this phone because they now are nano with NFC all other are micro w NFC except iPhone 5i is nano without NFC.
The NFC chip is in the SIM? Weird. Does that mean theoretically the phone would support secure element NFC SIM's that could re-enable Google Wallet/ISIS if companies would stop bickering and just let us use phones to tap and pay?

There's been some confusion about this too. The point of the new "NFC" SIM cards was to complete the hardware requirements needed for ISIS to be rolled out. These SIM cards have the secure element in them, but they do not have any NFC technology in them. They're just programmed with the secure element needed for ISIS.

Up until recently this was correct but the stores such ever worse now. If if it's an ESN change they take your unlimited. Cust care dose not do and is against Verizon policy so I say f*** the stores. PS I have yet to confirm if this just due to stupid reps or system limitations but for the recorded if you do as the quoted text suggests and the store takes your unlimited Cust service can put it back on

It's pretty publicly known that:
T-Mobile won't sell it in their stores initially, or at all.
You'll HAVE to order on the playstore.
You can't put it on installment plans.
It'll have AWS HSPA bands
It'll haven an unlocked bootloader.
Sounds like T-Mobile version = Developer Version.
However, it's apparent the T-Mobile version will have wifi calling, meaning they have their software on the device... so it's not EXACTLY the same.
That's why I'm thinking it'll be hard to get your hands on- most likely built in limited runs or limited numbers all together.

So you just stick an AT&T SIM card in there and it'll automatically switch to it? Was your phone already activated on the Sprint network? I'm curious since Sprint would tie in with the ESN activation for CDMA. If it's just as simple as putting in an AT&T or Tmobile SIM, then I'm sure getting it!

I bought a Nexus 5 from Best Buy and I'm an AT&T customer. Yes, the phone will automatically connect to AT&T's network. It took a few minutes to convince the BB employee that the phone would work on AT&T. I can't remember specifics but I had to change the settings here back to LTE a couple of times. For some reason it wouldn't stick after the first reboot. I can't retest it because my straight talk Sim is not active right now. I can assure you it works relatively easily though.

because all N5's sold in North America are the same model, with the same frequencies (D820), the only thing that may have to be changed is the APN.
this is not like other Sprint specific devices like the G2 (LS980) vs the AT&T G2 (D800)
AT&T - D800
GSM 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS 850/1900/2100
LTE 1900(2)/1700(4)/850(5)/700(17)

That would have been awesome, I don't understand why everybody charges $100 more unless Google really is taking a hit on each one they sell.
Glad you got them to price match, they wouldn't budge for me. Brought them a few receipts where other people did it, brought them the price printed. They just kept telling me it's not the same phone, got to the point where I was just tired of wasting my time with them and didn't want to wait on the Play Store so I just got it at full price.

I don't think Google is necessarily taking a hit but I do think they are selling them just slightly above cost. You have to remember that Google isnt a electronic sales company like Apple, they make all of their profits from there data mining and advertising business. Android is just another medium to collect data and deliver ads. So they could give these away for free and still benefit. However companies like best buy and sprint make their money off of retail sales and cell phone plans. So they are trying to maximize profits that way.
Anyways bummer that they didn't match for you. I guess I just got luck. I walked in not feeling to confident with my play store ad. They were cool but hesitant. After the guy asked his manager he said that they normally wouldn't match the play store but were will to make an exception.
I am in the same boat but for T Mobile. Anyone know if this phone will work for T Mobile as well? I would believe so but I want to make especially if BB is going to charge me an activation fee.

I know it supposedly has the bands to work on VZ, what do you guys think?

If it has expandable memory, why would you overpay for bigger internal storage? Just curious.

More total storage and more room for apps. I will leave the option off in M that combines storage, so can use the sd as media only. I have a 200gb card and has my entire music collection and also some movies, game roms, comics, books and Gear VR media. I like my stuff in one local place. Convenient and zero reliance on cloud or OTG storage.

I live in Windsor, Ontario. I want to cross the border and go to a best buy to purchase the moto pure. Do they sell it outright in stores over in the USA or online only? Here I can't purchase phones outright at best buy, it has to be on a new contract to get phones from them.

I would suggest calling the store that you plan on going to and ask them. I wouldn't trust the online store availability, I've had the website say "unavailable" when a product was actually available at the store.

Yeah that's a good idea. But do they sell phones outright over there or do they have to be on a new contract to get a phone? At the best buy here you can't buy phones from them without getting a new contract.

Right now they are "shipping" only, and with pre-order. Best bet is wait till they show available and give the actual store a call. I have never bought one outright from a store, always did online.

The Moto X Pure Edition is categorized at Best buy as "Unlocked" which means that you should be able to purchase it without any contract/service plan. You should be able to walk out of the store with nothing more that the cell phone.
FYI the 16gb black model probably has the best chance of being in stock. For me, it is saying "Add to Cart" rather than "Pre-Order" like the other models.
