Guys i am using this phone from past 2 months and no problem whatso ever but since past 2 days its bugging a lot......when ever i connect my phone to a charger or USB then it works perfectly but the moment i unplug the charges the screen turns unresponsive and starts to lag...i tried restore factory settings but was of no help....!! please help as soon as possible!!!
I have the same behaviour here.
The phone is a Yoigo i9103 with 2.3.4 Android
I dont remember the factory kernel version.
The screen is irresponsive sometimes, slow and phantom most of the time. i can't hold touch (like when move a desktop icon or scroll a list) for more than 3 seconds, the screen acts as if I have removed my finger.
I reset to factory defaults and installed a 2.6.36.4-ardatdat kernel (V.1.5) and it have been working nice for a few days. Now its working bad again.
I have done factory reset again, removed screen protector (perhaps static issue), wipe cache, wipe davik, wipe battery stats, remove sd card and nothing.
When I plug the cable (from charger or from USB) it works smooth again instantly.
I tested with 456MHz max, 216MHz min governor interactive with the cable pluged and it works fine. Screen is smooth and response is fast and accurate.
Do again with 1000MHz max, 216MHzmin governor performance without cable and its irresponsive again.
So, I think its not a CPU work issue.
Question for people who know about capacitive screens or smart people in general
Could be something like the screen have static charge and when the cable is plugged the phone is well grounding, so it works fine again??
Sorry for my english
It might have to do with the voltages....
Herpderp Defy.
@ Romwe
It could be what you are saying but there could be many other factors at play other than that also.
We can't be sure if grounding is actually helping in reducing it by passing the static charge through the ground thereby increasing responsiveness, though its certainly possible.
I would suggest you to take it to the service center as they would simply change the motherboard or the screen.
Do update here whatever you do.
Ok. Ill do
This morning i plugged the phone to the car charger, its not a samsung's one its from an old blackberry, when i take the phone again, about 1h20', the screen was black and the phone does not respond.
Did a reset ( 7'' power button ) and the phone works again.
Now the interesting part: i have unplugged it about 1 hour ago and the phone still thinks its charging...
The battery reads 84% now, 3970mV and status charging
The screen is smooth and fast as when the phone is plugged.
This things are freaking me out :what:
Ill do a battery reset later.

maybe its a micro usb port problem... I'm facing some unresponsiveness while charging, and when unplug my phone my screen sometimes make to fail the long press, and can't make long press touch for example like keeping the status bar in the middle... I solve it by blocking the screen and turning it back on. It always has been like this from day 1, so I think that's a bug that i should to bear with.
There's something definitely wrong with the hardware now that its showing wrong status of being charged when the charger is not even connected.
I feel the screen could be just fine as it is working fine when the system feels/judges its connected to a power source even though when it is not. There could be something wrong with the motherboard or as George said it could be the micro USB which is faulty.
If you take it to a service center I think these guys will simply flip your motherboard for a new one.
Keep updating us here.

Go to service center because it is probably a hardware problem.

When plugged u set to governer interactive and unplugged it is governer performance? I feel thats the issue. Set it to interactive for unplugged as well. Plus make sure ur voltages are not UV more than 25mV. Wipe battery stats once fully charged.
If nothing helps, then its surely h/w issue.

Well even i had the same problem.....but on a very temporarily basis..
i.e. the problems starts by its own and gets resolved by its own...it happens only for a few minutes....
I wonder how others are facing it for a longer period of time.

I have this problem too with my phone.
But I have found some sort of "fix" for it, though it doesn't seem to last very long.
When I get these problems I use a semi-wet wooden toothpick and cleans the chargerport (microUSB port). And after that it seems to work better.
My guess is that the system seems to recognise some sort of charge-trigger and that may interrupt the touchinput-sequence.
This is only my own thoughts and experience but it seems to work for me, soo I figured I could share it with all of you!
Cheers!

I could have found a solution:
It seems the problem is all related to dirt in the microUSB-port.
I cleaned the port very much, and made sure it was clean even in the tight area between "ground" and the "stick" where the power comes from.
I used a small piece of standard writingpaper and folded it once and stuck it between ground and the "powerstick". I also used a thin knife, like a razorblade to get it clean.
But now it seems all problem I had has disappeared!
Hope it helps others
I never had such problems ;-)

This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
Today when I connected the charger to my R it played a notification sound which is played when one connects it to a power source but then within a matter of 5 - 10 secs again it played that sound.
After that within a few mins when I left it to fully charge from 90 % it misreported me that its fully charged to 100% with a notification in the status bar which was not possible as it couldn't charge 10 percent in 5 - 7 mins. So I disconnected it and reconnected it after a few secs to find that its still charging from 90 %.
It also restarted during a call after all this.
Current conditions: I am on Indian stock kernel & ROM cause my PC has been given for repairs.
What could be the cause of the problem that I'm currently facing ?
Possible causes I could think of:
- The USB socket's soldering on the motherboard could have given way & may be loose.
- The charging circuit of my motherboard could be acting up due to unknown reasons.
Q.1 Has anyone of you faced similar issue in the past ?
Q.2 What do you think could be the cause of the problem ?
Kindly help me determine the problem as the only other option would be taking it to the SSC for a checkup.
i also faced this problem but very rare, it will show 100% once i remove the charger it will show 90%, i will reboot it and after reboot again it will start charging...
I had the same problem last week. I took it to ssc. They called it a firmware problem as always :what: but then they replaced the battery. Now I don't have that problem but my battery backup sucks now.

You should go back and ask for a new battery and tell them that this one doesn't hold the charge.
BTW in your case did the charger disconnect itself without any user input when connected to the usb port and then again without any input reconnects itself ?

yes its one of their standard procedure
if u claim about battery life first they will flash stock fw and if u still keep complaining about battery they will give u new battery. in my friends gs2 they replaced battery for 2 times yet he faced probs with battery backup so at last ssc replaced his whole motherboard

@cooleagle, 90% prob could be software related. but as u said drop of charger connection seems hardware issue, check ur charger's micro usb plug is it loose or damaged?
once this happened with me i kept my charger in bag and somehow in bag charger's micro usb plug got broken from inside and then whenever i connected my phone it was giving prob of dropping connection like u said, first i thought there is prob with phone but when i examined charger i found out plug was loose and it was giving me probs.

u can backup games file data by copying ur whole internal storage but to backup scores and progress u have backup system folder's data and it probably needs root, btw u can backup ur whole phone with cwm but u will have to do flashing on ur phone

In my case, I would put on phone on charging around 30% and after 10 min, it would show 100% done. When I disconnect charger, it would show anything like 82%, then after reboot, it would show 5% and after taking out battery and putting again, it would be back to 30-35% and then charge normally. This disconnection thing you are talking about happened with usb charging not normal charging.

My problem got resolved when I cleaned the USB port with a cleaning solution used to clean electronic boards. If you are on stock ROM & have not rooted your handset then take it to the Service center as your USB charging port could be non-functional / damaged.
But if you're rooted then clear your counter & flash the Indian 2.3.5 stock ROM before going to the service center.
Do update here when the problem is resolved.
Hope this helps.
Hi all,
I bought Xperia C last week and I am facing a serious issue with its battery.
I charge my phone from 30%-70% and it took around 2hrs (which I think is fine).
But after 70%, it shows battery level to 100% within 5-10 minutes.
I also asked this question in Sony's thread but I didn't get a solution.
What should I do?

Did you do a few charging cycles. I mean, for the battery to ''settle'' itself ; its neccesary to do a full discharge to 0% then uninterrupted charge to 100% for a few times initially.
Then ,you could force stop the ''eco controller mode'' in apps, clear data (after few charge cycles) then reboot.
This calibrates the ''stamina mode''
Hope this helps: coz it sure did to me

I keep my device always in stamina mode, and sometime enable low memory mode and leave it.
Does it make something to battery charging?
Do I really need to manually calibrate "STAMINA MODE"?
@off_TOPIC: BTW, do you guys updated your XC to latest FW 16.0.B.26?? If yes, can you tell me its advantages over previous version.

Regarding the stamina mode: I just saw that the estimated backup time as shown in stamina mode wasnt correct after charging cycles, it showed 3 hours backup time . So I had to do something. Now it seems A-Okay.Its quite possible that you may not have this problem, but regardless it would't hurt to calibrate it.
For the 2nd query, the advantages are quite slim. The volume level has gone up (a bit), the sudden battery drain from 30 to 15% is gone (somewhat) and overall the rom feels a bit zippier then before (could be placebo). But if you're having no problems in your current rom, it seems quite pointless to update it, bdw the rom is 675 MB :silly: and it bought back all the bloatware I had deleted before.
Your choice mate

Dear Friend ... Seems similar to DHD's ... You know it gets this when it gets Rooted ... but anyway maybe a battery calibration would help ( it worked somehow with DHD ) ... But it should be a software problem so a ROM switch may help ... Good luck ...

OH ... Sorry I had forgotten that it doesn't have the ability to switch ROM ... But anyway you can try many apps for calibration ... also one other way ... I'm not an Xperia C User but my brother is so would take look at it ... I mean if anyone can boot into recovery , Then you could charge the phone for a period of time to make sure it's full then got into CWM recovery and do a wipe battery state ... It also can be a solution but I should try that myself ... also if you could find some way to boot into recovery , then check if it fixes Or not ... Good Luck

You can try every calibration method available but you wont rid yourself of the ''battery bug''.
Its a bug in the rom itself that sony has yet to acknowledge. I tried every concieveable ways but the bug still exists. The battery lasts a superb 1.5 days or even two days but the moment it reaches 30-33%, I can literally see the battery level going down in front of my eyes to 13%.
The wierd thing is that at 13%, it stabilizes and works normally again
Oh Sorry to hear that ...

Oh I'm sorry to hear that they don't have CWM and in the Other hand ... as I know Rooting is a bit risky in this Device So I recommend to use one of the battery calibration ways I give you here ( tell me if they work ) :
------------------------------- first way : ( works for galaxy S2 )
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Fully Charge.
3. When getting 100% signal, unplug quickly.
4. Pull off the battery and put it anywhere.
5. Wait for 180 seconds exactly (be careful )
6. Meanwhile, take this opportunity to dust off the internal compartment.
7. Put back the battery on the right side.
8. Turn on the phone.
9. Pray the Battery god
10. ... and voilà !
11. After that, you can make some cycle of fully charge/discharge to ~15/20% TO complete the method
------------------------------ way 2 : ( works for galaxy S3 )
- Drain battery till it turns off.
- Get your USB jig and insert it on your s3
- Remove the USB jig and leave it till it turns off.
- Leave it for 5 minutes until the heats wears off
- Charge your phone for 10 minutes
- Turn it on
- Drain til 5%
- Insert USB charger and let it full charge
- Once full charge ( Green light appears )
- Remove charger and Enjoy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If non Of them worked you can try this app and it may solve your problem ... Good luck

If non Of them worked you can try this app and it may solve your problem ...

Hello guys , I am having a serious problem with my Sony Xperia E , it seems to be bricked. Something went wrong , I heard it happens sometimes because of software bug or whatever , and your phone goes into this sleep mode , which won't charge at all. I mean , when I plug it in to charge , the red led lights up (once every 3-4 seconds) untill it finally starts up , but when it starts up it shutdowns since the battery is 0% and not charging. On the internet I could not find any help about Sony Xperia E and this red led error. So , if anyone knows what to do.. Please help me , I'm too lazy to take it to a service and besides I don't got money to spare for it

Hi Cezar and everyone else (this is my first post),
I had the exact same problem and i was sure i bricked my phone beyond repair but there is a way to fix it. So my first thought was to externaly charge my battery but you can't do that, so i came up with a way. You will need to strip one end of the USB cable and separate the black and the red wire. The red wire is positive and the black is negative. Put the two wires between the battery and the positive and negative sockets in your phone (like shown in the pictures [attached]). And now your phone will be charging .
And do not forget, red is the postive, black the negative!
I hope this solves your problem!
P.S. Don't mind the black box, I built it just so i can use it for projects to have a power source, it's just a switch and a LED

Hello,
I was in the exact same situation yesterday with my Xperia J but luckily i managed to fix it, Your battery is able to charge what's happened is it's completely flat like there's no juice left, So what you have to do Plug your charger in via Mains and leave it like that for a good hour or two, Take your phone off charge and push the power button and see if the red led flashes 3 times if it does this means your battery is still flat, So what i did next is plugged it in via USB and put it in flashmode attempting to flash stock rom back onto it, but that just completely failed so then i tried flashing CWM that did get me somewhere my phone booted up after but then it died again so i left it on charge via USB this time for one hour and it was charging as usual i then flashed Stock rom back onto it, it was still bricked after (bootloop) so i flashed it again, and it got my device back to good health, Not sure if any of that made sense but **** it

Thanks for the post and the help , but I have a question , in this way will I still be able to get things from my PC to my device and vice-versa ? or it will make it chargeable only ?
And also , is this the only way to deal the problem ? And do you have any ideea what causes this ?
Hi cezar,
Just keep your phone on origenal charger and cable for an hour. This should work.

Well with this method you will need a spare USB cabel for data transfer/flashing because this one will be just a USB on the one side and stripped wires on the other.
This is the only way I found how to deal with this problem, you could always find someone with the same phone so that he can charge your battery for you.
This problem is a symptom of a soft brick. I guess you flashed a ROM that isn't stable so you found yourself in a loop. My advice is to do one of the things I said and in the future flash nee ROMs with at least 50% battery so you don't find yourself in this situation!
P.S. Try SONYs Emma, thats a cute little program for flashing stock ROMs especially in situations like this one.

In my case this disnt't work because my phone was stuck in a loop, it would start charging, boot up by itself, get to the point that it has 0% battery and power off by itself.

hmm I just thought about this. I do have indeed a custom ROM , but this didn't happen in process of flashing. just randomly , a month maybe I after cyanogenmod 11. Anyways , I just thought about this. What if I get another batterry from one of my friends , flash back to stock on my device and then give back the battery to that guy. Wouldn't that just work ?

Hey man, sorry to hear that you are also facing the same problem Can you share some specifics?
- Have you ever rooted your phone?
- Does your phone shut down within seconds of opening snapchat, regardless of the current battery level?
- Have you experienced totally unstable performance, like sudden battery level drops of 20-30%?
- Have you tried going back to a lower firmware?
- Have you tried removing the SD card, if any?
Let's work together to understand our problem better and hope for a solution

Hey man,
So,
Couple of things about my problem so that we can maybe point out similarities and maybe a common cause.
- I had my phone rooted the first time the problem appeared (android 4.4.4)
- I updated my phone to Lollipop, and that's when i first started getting hints of this problem
- At first i thought, it was a charging issue. but it started happening more and more often.
- now, it pretty much happens everyday and is making my life miserable.
- I started to notice that my battery roughly dies around 37%. From what i've read online, this battery level can be different from person to person.
- From the moment it dies, it restarts itself and goes into a bootloop.
- The moment i plug it back in, it show a battery level of 0%.
- And then, within a few minutes, the battery level goes back to where it initially was when it first died.
- My battery discharge was really turbulent, the whole graph was a mess. I would see sharp drop till I would reach the dreaded 30% area.
- I noticed that right after I enter snapchat, it takes about 3-5 seconds for the reboot to happen. This happens regardless of the battery level as it has once happened to me at about 80% battery.
- The best thing that ever happened to me was when i first took out my SD card. It was 64 GB samsung sd card so i thought it would really mesh together well. I never thought about it being a possible cause. Boy was i wrong, turns out my battery performance almost returned to normal. Got to about 75% after 9 hours. No snapchat but again around the 11 hour mark. I launched chrome and the BAM, it happened again :'(
- I decided to unroot and return to 4.4.4 thinking that a custom kernel was the problem.
- Still No Luck
I have read many places online that it maybe an issue with the battery. But, I refuse to believe that is the issue. i have also tried another battery. although i think it may have been fake. Haven't tried a replacement OEM battery yet.
I would suggest a few things you can do:
- For starters take a screenshot of your current battery usage charts and then once the problem happens, remove the SD card and charge your phone while powered off and report back with another screenshot so that we can compare and see if removing the SD card has had any positive effect.
- Please clarify if you have ever rooted? sorry I was unable to fully understand from your answer.

Do u mean by installing this ur battery last upto 0%. Without reboots / bootloop....
Can u confirm ur model no and firmware version.
Guys after a lot of search found something to save much more battery life, worked for me, give a try:
1,open dialer and dial *#0228#
2,after dialing *#0228# the battery status menu will popup.
3,hit ( quick start ) at bottom of the screen in red color
4,hit ( yes ) and go to settings/battery and disable fast charging for 1 charge only.
5,power off the phone and charge to 100%.
6,turn on the phone and if it shows 97,98,99 plug in charger again and charge to 100%.
7,once it charge to 100% unplug charger and this will create new battery calibration status automatically.now you can enable fast charge again.
8, Next go to play store and download wakelock power app and install it. Open the app and hit (PARTIAL WAKE LOCK) as in screenshot below.
This app will help the cpu to run much more efficient and smoother and also prevent device from over heating and this app does not require root access.
Download wakelock power app link below.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...u.thedarken.wl
THIS METOHOD WORKS ONLY WITH STOCK OFFICIAL FIRMWARE IF YOU ARE RUNNING AOSP ROMS/CYANOGENMOD ROMS/NOTE7 ROMS/S7EDGE ROMS/ OR OTHER PORTED ROMS DIALING *#0228# MAY NOT WORK. (SOME PORTS COULD WORK LIKE Dr. KetanRom, EnhancedRom, RamRom.)
HIT THANKS IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU

Thanks for the help,I appreciate it but unfortunately it's still restarting and getting stuck in a boot loop and this continues until I plug my phone in. This battery is only 8 months old. And this problem didn't start until the last security update. It's getting worse every day. It started happening at 80%, now when my phone gets to 98% it goes into this boot loop. I have the Verizon version. Maybe I'll try a factory reset

Now you're getting somewhere, from the sounds of it.
It almost sounds like the security system in the phone is seeing something it doesn't like on startup and doing a reboot to try and purge it.
I really hate Samsung's built in security.
