I'm selling my TF300T to a second hand shop, but I want to lock the bootloader as I think they will refuse the device with the "This device is unlocked" text.
THE DEVICE WORKS FINE. I'm not trying to trick anyone into purchasing a broken device. I know there are hundreds of post like this, but none of them actually tell you how to or if it's even possible to lock the bootloader.
Thanks,
Daniel

Cannot be done once unlocked, all Transformer tablets are unlocked forever.
Unless something very bad happens, there is no way to relock the bootloader ....
Thx Josh

Actualy bootloader can be relocked. Refurbished devices are those, thats why is a major problem with unlocking

Actually, is there a good factory reset tutorial on xda? I haven't found one yet and I don't really trust other ones on the internet.
I would like to:
-unroot
-flash original firmware
-flash original bootloader

Has anyone figured out how to lock an unlocked infinity? Im getting frustrated with some of the lag with the stock ROM and want to try a custom ROM which I usually do with all my devices but i don't want to void my warranty because I've started experiencing some issues with my light sensor and may have to get it repaired or exchanged in the future. I'm used to being able to recover my devices to complete stock but everywhere is saying it can't be locked again.
TIA

That is correct info you have there...
Once unlocked its unlocked for ever, as the way its done is that the unlock tool, sends a request to asus for the
unlock key. Once that is done you are unlocked, forever....
Thx Josh

You'd have to get the NSA involved. They may have the means to crack that encryption key
Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk
It is possible to relock the device, but you won't get back your warranty as lj explained, so it's pointless.
The bootloader is encrypted with a device-specific secure boot key. If you want to unlock without help from Asus, you have the following theoretical possibilities:
* crack the 128-bit AES "secure boot key".
* "obtain" the Asus private key for signing your CPU serial number to create the unlock token.
* find a weakness in the Tegra's SBK implementation.
Good luck with any of these.
And I think you can forget the light sensor - mine never worked good enough to be useful.
Hi guys, I've unlocked the bootloader, then I tried to lock it again, but now BL is set on "RELOCKED" and not on "LOCKED".
So, I think, in case I've to send my phone in warranty, I will have problems!
So, the question is: how can I set again in "LOCKED" the bootloader?
Thank you so much!
Did you not use the unlock code provided by Huawei? Otherwise, they already know you voided the warranty.

There is no way if you did it with the 16 digit code. It will be only relock and no lock. Had you used the other way of unlocking, you may have locked it again. Whats the requirements, only to regain warranty?

Yeah, I've requested the code, but it doesn't mean nothing: I Can request it but it doesn't mean that I have to use it! ^_^
Is there a way to set on "locked" the bootloader?
I knew about dc-unlocker, a payware program.. Does It works?

Don't worry. Unless you run into something very critical you wont need it..even though if you go to service centre, not all cares for bootloader.

No it's not real! Chainfires website is having issues and it shouldn't be there and if you flash that you're going to brick the phone!
Thanks for the heads up. Sucks people got to be so shady.
It also says 'should have unlocked bootloader' which no one has been able to do yet. Having the bootloader unlocked is not really a 'should' it is a 'must' have for that model Verizon.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=xperia bootloader warning
found me https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...o-remove-unlocked-bootloader-warning-t3201141
THIS is different on my XZ!
But there might be a way without writing a new bootloader.
The guy just patched a binary to jump to the same display as if the bootloader was locked.
No big deal but still highly risky.
I do not know how it works on the XZ. And since this does not bother me, I will not invest my time or risk my phone on a solution.

I might not be that hard.
If it is soft (I do not know) then you could still flash the original binary.

Put the phone in fastboot mode, then run `fastboot flashing unlock` from a PC. If it says unlocking not allowed, you're out of luck, it's a brick now. Never lock your phone without being 100% stock on both slots

No idea. I've never relocked unless I am completely stock and take at least one ota first to make sure, along with full factory resets before and after updating.
There are others here that claim they where able to unlock again and save their phones though so maybe it's possible.
