So I just got a new AT&T LG G2 and it got updated to the newest version of the firmware which is the D80020k firmware. I wanted to root and install Mahdi rom but I cant get a custom recovery onto my phone because the firmware is not supported (trying to get TWRP). So now I am looking to see if I can revert my phone back to the D80010D firmware. But this is my dilemma. Is it safe to use LG FlashTool on D80020K firmware to go back to D80010D firmware?
Figured it out!
I am back on jellybean! I just took the risk and used LG Flash Tool....worked fine
Quick note: the latest firmware version is 20y (20k -> 20u -> 20y).
Even with 20y, you can still root and install TWRP recovery on it.
Anyway, you got everything under control. Congrats.

Hi,
I decided a while back to give Cyanogen mod a try on my Moto G 4G (XT1039). After finally reverting back to the stock firmware (4.4.4) from a backup I am left with a rooted phone and a custom recovery (TWRP).
Lollipop will be rolling out shortly and I would like to emjoy the update. As I understand I will not be able to update OTA due to TWRP.
What you be the best way to update to the stock Lollipop once it is released?
Is it best to return to the stock recovery? And especially how?
Or would it be best to wait for a flashable stock Lollipop zip to be posted and flah it through TWRP?
Thank you for your advice.
Back to the STOCK
If you want move back to the STOCK ROM - firstly download it here.
Secondly follow this instructions here.
I've rooted my XT1039 once and then I moved back to the STOCK and the OTA 4.4.4 for repair 10 class microSD came. I don't have TWRP so that isn't exactly the same situation. I just have unlocked bootloader.
PS: I'm chacking System updates five times every day
I installed the Android Lollipop 5.0.1 GB OTA after flashing the Stock GB 4.4.4 firmware last night then flashed TWRP 2.8.3 and Aero Kernel. Now I'm thinking of selling my phone to upgrade to the second generation Moto G thus requiring me to reset the phone entirely, how would I go about this without bricking my phone? (Phone is XT1032)
I would flash back to stock 4.4.4 and OTA to 5.0 so the biyer doesn't have the ripple effect on the phone.
I had a phone with stock Telus 5.02 and I was able to downgrade to stock 4.4.4. Just don't try to flash motoboot.img.
Don't forget to flash a new logo too so the buyer doesn't see the unlocked bootloader warning.
So how would I go about doing that? Do you have a thread I could follow the steps of?
Here's T-Mobile OTA 20G Stock rom.
If coming from Lollipop, must be on 20g bootstack.
HOW TO FLASH:
Step 1: Be on 20g bootstack. Flash it if not.
D801-20G-BOOTSTACK.zip
Step 2: Full wipe unless already on 20g and flash rom.
Download: D801-G2-20G-STOCK-ROM.zip
Flash Root SuperSU thanks to chainfire
SuperSU-v2.46.zip
BTW, no longer have TMO G2. Returned it and probably get a G3 or G4. Need wireless charging. Support will be limited.
Hello, my D800 G2 is currently running Cloudy G2.2 and I have a problem where a certain part of my screen is unresponsive. I'm not sure if its a Hardware or Software problem; but I figured I would go back to stock and see if solves my problem. So I'm wondering if it's possible for me to flash stock and then upgrade the software to the official Lolipop update (OTA) or maybe just flash straight to Lolipop. Either way I would like to completely unroot and remove TWRP; and preferably have Lolipop in the end. Any insight on a fix for the screen is also appreciated, and thanks in advance for any help with reversion aswell.
How Install Lollipop 5.0.2 on LG G2 D800 AT&T V30…: https://youtu.be/7gPQCb3s7oo
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Free mobile app
Basically....
1. Download D800 stock .tot firmware (http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/AT&T/)
2. Flash stock in Download Mode with LG Flash Tools
3. Enable usb debugging...Use IOROOT to root
4. Use AutoRec apk to flash recovery
5. Download LP bootstack (or JB baseband if required on some older LP roms)
6. Flash LP rom of choice (Blisspop, Euphoria, Official/Unofficial CM12, etc.)
I had soneone ask me is it possible to update to the latest firmware and keep root. I know we cant do it via OTA or use lgup to flash it in. Since we have twrp is there a way we can install a newer firmware to the v20 insted of being stuck between 10B to 13A as those are the firmware that can be rooted
One phone had it possible but i know Android above 6.0 are picky when it comes to a modded boot image my lg g3 was on 10B and someone made image files of the stock rom to be flashed via twrp of course it was kitkay that this was done from 10B to 12B
Crap didn't realize i was on the wrong thread mebt to post it in the questions section sorry for that
