[Q] Activate touchscreen without power-button - Sony Smartwatch

Hey folks,
I'm almost going nuts with this topic, can't find anything useful on the internet.
Is there any way to activate the Smartwatch 2 without the power-button? Yes, you can activate the back-light by double-tap, but you can't unlock the display without pushing the power-button (and wiping).
Double-tap and then be able to wipe would be nice. Or if I take a look at the watch the back-light goes on and then I already want to have the possibility to wipe the lock screen away. Is that somehow possible?
Regards
scotty86

Gravity Screen is an app which could be help you to asleep your cellphone without touch the physical button... it works easily. I hope help you.

Thanks for the answer, but I don't believe in Santa anymore.
Edit:
But maybe the easter bunny exists and I gave it a try: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Wirel...creen-without-power-button/m-p/819109#U819109

i got a few posts on that forum as well, never got a reply from Sony
crossing my fingers the easter bunny will wake up soon
gravity screen is for your phone indeed, not for the watch

shake2unlock with S2U2

Hi.. i was searching for a shake2unlock app... i found 2 on the forums but one does not work for the Omnia and the other didnt have the shake feature as far as i could tell...
So my q:
is there an app that when you shake your phone it also unlocks s2u2?
thx
Simple answer. No I would love this too, but it hasn't been developed yet. I would ask A_C.

Next time, please ask your questions in the Q&A section rather than opening a new thread.
Mods,
Please move to Q&A at your discretion. Thanks.
I think it'll consume a lot of power.

Nah. If you see PocketShield or TouchLockPro. It does not consume that much power.
doesnt that defeat the point...it will just unlock it when you walk or run , which totally defeats the point of a lock
Maybe if you have the ability to program it to unlock by swinging the device in a specific manner, that might overcome that issue (think throttle lock or Android type of lock software).
And unlocking in pocket would not be an issue because you could also use the light sensor. whenever it is dark dont shake 2 unlock
oh and sorry for the bad location of the thread
ah, so it would only unlock by accident if you were running and holding the phone then, or if the screen waking up on an incomming text / call triggered the light sensor, or if the phone was on your car dashboard and you went over a speedbump, or...etc etc etc ... oh and you couldnt unlock your phone at night
sorry, just dont see any practical use for this app and LOTS of potential issues.
up to you if you want to spend weeks coding it of course
Hi there,
at modaco they have kinda something, but they stopped developing it (unfortunatly):
Lock screen demo
peace
Блин вот вы ослы...:d

[DEVELOPED!!] Proximity sensor + Lockscreen = no more button accidents

YESSS it's HERE!!!!
All credits to exidler!!!! Thanx man!!
I saw this question somewhere else, but i just could'nt find it. So i thought let's start the idea again...
The idea is to have the proximity sens enabled in the wm6.5 lockscreen! Why? To disable the screen and hard buttons! That way if your HD2 is in your pocket, the screen won't go on if u press hard buttons on accident... see.
This would also be a nice feature if you get an incoming call, it happens to me very often, when i have my HD2 in my jeans and want to pick up a call, i often press the end call when pulling out the HD2 out of the pocket.... very frustrating!!!
Is there someone out there who is able to create an app/ tweak like this???
Thread you mentioned was open by me, but no solution for now. Btw proximity sensor isn't a bad idea, I can code in VB .net, but I don't know how use the sensor with the code! I hope there will be a more skilled programmer here!
The solution for now was called S2U2
yeah... any skilled programmer/ developer over here???
Yep, that's a great idea. Shame I can't do it myself

not that easy mate.. how about the lcd going on all the time in your pocket...
htc just needs to add button lock in there rom.
So you can only poweron poweroff the screen using the power button.

I agree, but only when nothing cover the proximity sensor, otherwise the phone will switch on and off in your pocket a lot of time!!
BTW, tha't incredible!!! Why HTC doesn't implement this basic function in their roms?? Really, I don't know!

hi to all,
I have check, pocketshield (latest beta) S2U2, smartlock and some more other
all of then have the same problem, they can not lock the answer key, so in case you have and incall and the phone is on your pocket you can accidentally pick up the call.
pocketshild developer has tall me that it's waiting for HTC to release a hotfix.

BTW, if anyone finds a solution please post it here

Good to hear...
But why are they waiting??? is it possible that HTC knows about this prob?? Would be nice if HTC developed this theirselves... prox sensor to switch off the LCD and hard buttons in incall AND in Lockscreen!!!
Or come on XDA Developers!!! One of u guys or galls have the power!!!
I certainly don't like the idea of using a full-blown locker like Pocket Shield or S2U2 for this purpose, so hopefully somebody will come up with a way to trap those darned buttons that can be used outside of those programs. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out why standard hooks fail...
hi
for me the real question is, why the htc dialer does have a slider but it does not lock the answer and end call keys when reciving a call ?
if htc developers didn't think about it why are they going to fix it ? I don't think we will get a hotfix ...
anyway if anyone find a solution .. please post
thanks
I don't think HTC is going to "fix" it, it's not a bug, it's a design [in]decision. It's been the case with all their phones since the times when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.

[Q] question about galaxy GT-5282

I have a new galaxy gt-5282, and there is a feature I want to remove. Whenever I dial a nr., an icon of the normal shape of a lock is shown, and I have to tap it twice so I can talk. Nothing in the call settings is mentioned about this. How can I remove this lock ? like a normal S2,S3 or S4 ?
H hope this is the right place for this thread.

I think its because your phone doesn't have a proximity sensor, maybe that's why Samsung added this feature.. because my old Samsung Corby had a similar (but far less annoying) feature like this...
So I don't think Samsung made an "Off" switch for this.. and the only way to remove it might be via framework or SystemUI editing.. look for a custom ROM for your phone with this feature disabled... and I'm sorry for not being able to provide you with the correct solution mate

Thank you Sami for your efforts. My original phone is S4, I just bought the GT-5282 yesterday, as it has 2 sim cards and I need that in my traveling. I opened it just today.
I have also 4.1.2 on this small phone, but you may be right, I do not see any thing beside the loud speaker at all, so it does not have a proximity sensor, but I do not see how this lock will help in such a case.
Custom ROM may be the solution, but I could not find here, or on Android forums anything about this GT-5282, they are not mentioning it at all.

Yeah, this is the problem with many mid-range or low-range phones.. There aren't many people who use this phone.. and most of them are probably average users and not Android geeks or developers...
Anyways, Proximity sensors are important for a smartphone or any touch-screen phone.. Its important because it detects how close the screen of the phone is to your body. This allows the phone to sense when you have brought the phone up to your ear. At that point, the display turns off in order to save battery. It also stops detecting "touches" to avoid unwanted input, until you take the phone away from your ear... Nowadays most phones have it and since this phone doesn't maybe that's why Samsung added that feature instead..
And yeah, you don't have to type "thank you" to thank me.. just clicking on that "thanks" button is enough

What are you looking forward to..

On the 6.0 update?
For me...
1. Faster fingerprint reader/unlock animation
2. New keyboard layout
3. Finally having an option to switch to pin code for alternative option if fingerprint isnt working
4. Adjustments on touchwiz
5. Google now on tap
6. New emojis
7.Faster phone ?? (hopefully)
Is speed an issue? My Note5 is smooth and quick. *shrug* Now on Tap is actually pretty cool. I don't use a protective lock screen so I don't know about that. I'd like to be able to activate Samsung Pay with a swipe up from the S-View window, but that won't happen.

Speed is definitely not an issue lol, but there are somethings that need a speed improvement.. such as the fingerprint reader. I just hope i dont see any lag. Im assuming you use Find my mobile? if you dont use a protective lock screen. And i dont use samsung pay or NFC payment for that matter, but i understand your struggle haha.
I could root my device, but i choose not to. Reason being is it will possibly lose value once Knox has been tripped.

I do use Find my Mobile but I also use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rickclephas.fingersecurity to lock certain apps. It only locks those apps when I am not connected to my WiFi or my cars Bluetooth. Maybe with the new fingerprint API I'll lock the whole phone up.
I also noticed when watching marshmallow beta for s6/s6 edge is that the capacitive buttons dont light up when touching the screen... which is a smart move from samsung. It saves battery and it makes sense. It only lights up when pressing them or when pressing the home button.

Actually it makes no sense, whatsoever. The entire point of the capacitive buttons lighting up when you touch the screen is so you can see them in the dark in order to press them.. lighting up when you touch them makes zero sense, why would I need them to do THAT?

They didn't light up because it was a Beta and the rooted kernel broke it even more on some devices, but made them work better on other devices. There's also mods you can use to just turn them off if you don't like them. Xposed. Or just go into the settings!!!
Also, just because you don't like them being on, doesn't mean that they are pointless. Tests have also been done to see just how much battery life is affected by Capacitive buttons and you can't even tell how much they use.
By the way, a lot of people like myself, work in dark places and have to use our phones. Think about that for a minute.:good:
The only thing I'm looking forward to is a phone that doesn't get an update and have it cause the phone to be worse than before. Right now my stock Note 5 works just fine.

ok this has never happen before until i got this phone.

Okay, so I've had many phones before this one and none of them ever done this before..
So I was at work and my phone was in my pocket with a iris and password lock on but I've just noticed it's on the lockscreen witch is dumb… but anyway, somehow inside my pocket I called 911 due to somehow turning on the phone inside my pocket and pressing the emergency button..
So my question is since this has never happen before if I can somehow disable that button and possibly make it invisible and no longer there so I don't do it again.
I googled and some said if I used another lock screen from the market but I don't wanna do that unless I have to and plus idk which one would be good for this phone in the first place…
So please, someone help lol I gotta work tomorrow and don't wanna pocket dial 911 again.
Also am I the only one who has done this with this phone or is it a common issue?

It turns out I need root or download another lock screen… which will suck because idk if I can use my iris scanner if do that
Well, I am guessing the emergency call thing has to be there legally...
I cant find the setting (the one how when you press home it goes straight to pin?)
Turn that off so atleast you will have to swipe up to get to where the emergency button is.
(i know this isnt a fix but its another step you have to accidentally do)
This has got to be one in a million. It's a lot of very specific presses, swipes, and numbers that Have To be pressed.
