Okay, so I've had many phones before this one and none of them ever done this before..
So I was at work and my phone was in my pocket with a iris and password lock on but I've just noticed it's on the lockscreen witch is dumb… but anyway, somehow inside my pocket I called 911 due to somehow turning on the phone inside my pocket and pressing the emergency button..
So my question is since this has never happen before if I can somehow disable that button and possibly make it invisible and no longer there so I don't do it again.
I googled and some said if I used another lock screen from the market but I don't wanna do that unless I have to and plus idk which one would be good for this phone in the first place…
So please, someone help lol I gotta work tomorrow and don't wanna pocket dial 911 again.
Also am I the only one who has done this with this phone or is it a common issue?
Keep screen turned off option in display.
Pretty sure that will do it

It was on. Im trying to remove it all together tho if possible.
It turns out I need root or download another lock screen… which will suck because idk if I can use my iris scanner if do that
Well, I am guessing the emergency call thing has to be there legally...
I cant find the setting (the one how when you press home it goes straight to pin?)
Turn that off so atleast you will have to swipe up to get to where the emergency button is.
(i know this isnt a fix but its another step you have to accidentally do)
This has got to be one in a million. It's a lot of very specific presses, swipes, and numbers that Have To be pressed.

Well for my screen it's right where you type the password or do the iris scan. And I pressed it to see if it calls right to 911 and it doesn't but theres another button after that it does.

Um, pretty much every android OEM has done this. I honestly don't know how your palm is hitting that part of the phone. Maybe tasker could do what you want.

Having a SIMILAR problem with the back button. These buttons are just so damn sensitive! When I try to take a picture in landscape, my hand usually touches the back button and I close the camera app. So annoying!
If I had a nickle for every time i've acidentally caused the back button to activate and screw up what I was doing with the phone, i'd be able to afford to have it redesigned, and a limited run made with hardware keys instead.

I had to adopt a new hand position. Kinda lame that it does not turn off the button.
Last night I noticed my power button sometimes would not lock my screen on my phone. Even when it would, it would lock and quickly bring the screen back on. Even sometimes occasionally I would press the button once quickly and the power off/reboot menu would appear. This morning I found a tab for my quick settings panel that puts the phone into sleep and have been using it all day. This has been a real pita. Now my phone as I am using it randomly sleeps and then brings up the power menu. Is there any way to replace the power button? I found barely anything on YouTube on this and and not sure if it is an easy or hard fix. For now, is there an app that I can disable my power button so my phone does not make me rage?
-Thanks

You can buy a power button, but replacing it ...you need skill and tool (not recommend for an average user). Try to bang the button on a hard plastic surface like washer/dryer surface. A number of people reported success with this method.(this is real, not a joke),

I have to test it out first, but I think I can disable the power button, however, it's only a work around, you need to replace the button for a permanent solution. If under warranty, it's the best way to go.

Hi guys,
I've recently realised that after I receive a phone call, the phone automatically gets unlocked after the call has ended.
Is there any setting to prevent this?
I am so used to stuffing the phone back into my pocket and do not wish to inadvertently butt dial someone or launch apps while the phone is sitting unlocked in my pocket.
Hope you guys can help on this.
i dont know what kind a security lock you have, if its a pin it shouldn't, thinking about this, im sure i have to put my pin code to access the phone during and after a call otherwise this would be a security loophole.

Slide to unlock is pretty useless without security. It even let's you use the notification area so I doubt it would fully prevent pocket dialling.
Anyway, doesn't surprise me.

Umm, yes I know that it doesn't offer much security but I don't want to punch in a password or use the camera security each time I want to access my phone.
The lock screen doesn't automatically lock after a call without security. Power button to turn off the screen does. So after a call, turn off the screen.

On the 6.0 update?
For me...
1. Faster fingerprint reader/unlock animation
2. New keyboard layout
3. Finally having an option to switch to pin code for alternative option if fingerprint isnt working
4. Adjustments on touchwiz
5. Google now on tap
6. New emojis
7.Faster phone ?? (hopefully)
Is speed an issue? My Note5 is smooth and quick. *shrug* Now on Tap is actually pretty cool. I don't use a protective lock screen so I don't know about that. I'd like to be able to activate Samsung Pay with a swipe up from the S-View window, but that won't happen.

Speed is definitely not an issue lol, but there are somethings that need a speed improvement.. such as the fingerprint reader. I just hope i dont see any lag. Im assuming you use Find my mobile? if you dont use a protective lock screen. And i dont use samsung pay or NFC payment for that matter, but i understand your struggle haha.
I could root my device, but i choose not to. Reason being is it will possibly lose value once Knox has been tripped.

I do use Find my Mobile but I also use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rickclephas.fingersecurity to lock certain apps. It only locks those apps when I am not connected to my WiFi or my cars Bluetooth. Maybe with the new fingerprint API I'll lock the whole phone up.
I also noticed when watching marshmallow beta for s6/s6 edge is that the capacitive buttons dont light up when touching the screen... which is a smart move from samsung. It saves battery and it makes sense. It only lights up when pressing them or when pressing the home button.

Actually it makes no sense, whatsoever. The entire point of the capacitive buttons lighting up when you touch the screen is so you can see them in the dark in order to press them.. lighting up when you touch them makes zero sense, why would I need them to do THAT?

They didn't light up because it was a Beta and the rooted kernel broke it even more on some devices, but made them work better on other devices. There's also mods you can use to just turn them off if you don't like them. Xposed. Or just go into the settings!!!
Also, just because you don't like them being on, doesn't mean that they are pointless. Tests have also been done to see just how much battery life is affected by Capacitive buttons and you can't even tell how much they use.
By the way, a lot of people like myself, work in dark places and have to use our phones. Think about that for a minute.:good:
The only thing I'm looking forward to is a phone that doesn't get an update and have it cause the phone to be worse than before. Right now my stock Note 5 works just fine.
