On the 6.0 update?
For me...
1. Faster fingerprint reader/unlock animation
2. New keyboard layout
3. Finally having an option to switch to pin code for alternative option if fingerprint isnt working
4. Adjustments on touchwiz
5. Google now on tap
6. New emojis
7.Faster phone ?? (hopefully)
Is speed an issue? My Note5 is smooth and quick. *shrug* Now on Tap is actually pretty cool. I don't use a protective lock screen so I don't know about that. I'd like to be able to activate Samsung Pay with a swipe up from the S-View window, but that won't happen.

Speed is definitely not an issue lol, but there are somethings that need a speed improvement.. such as the fingerprint reader. I just hope i dont see any lag. Im assuming you use Find my mobile? if you dont use a protective lock screen. And i dont use samsung pay or NFC payment for that matter, but i understand your struggle haha.
I could root my device, but i choose not to. Reason being is it will possibly lose value once Knox has been tripped.

I do use Find my Mobile but I also use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rickclephas.fingersecurity to lock certain apps. It only locks those apps when I am not connected to my WiFi or my cars Bluetooth. Maybe with the new fingerprint API I'll lock the whole phone up.
I also noticed when watching marshmallow beta for s6/s6 edge is that the capacitive buttons dont light up when touching the screen... which is a smart move from samsung. It saves battery and it makes sense. It only lights up when pressing them or when pressing the home button.

Thats looks like a really useful app! And yes, really looking forward to the new fingerprint API. We can finally make purchases with just our fingerprint reader on play store, amazon, ebay, etc... hopefully.
I hope they fix the keyboard lag I have with every keyboard.

Actually it makes no sense, whatsoever. The entire point of the capacitive buttons lighting up when you touch the screen is so you can see them in the dark in order to press them.. lighting up when you touch them makes zero sense, why would I need them to do THAT?

They didn't light up because it was a Beta and the rooted kernel broke it even more on some devices, but made them work better on other devices. There's also mods you can use to just turn them off if you don't like them. Xposed. Or just go into the settings!!!
Also, just because you don't like them being on, doesn't mean that they are pointless. Tests have also been done to see just how much battery life is affected by Capacitive buttons and you can't even tell how much they use.
By the way, a lot of people like myself, work in dark places and have to use our phones. Think about that for a minute.:good:
The only thing I'm looking forward to is a phone that doesn't get an update and have it cause the phone to be worse than before. Right now my stock Note 5 works just fine.

Nav bar is really annoying and it consumes so much space on the screen.
It's OK on devices like Nexus 10, but it makes 5 inch screen to be 4.5 or even less.
Why google doesn't op-in the touch buttons on the lower body like Galaxy ?
Rhetorical question?
I don't think it really moves it from 5" to 4.5". Probably more like 4.8".
If you don't like it, definitely look out for customer roms. Even CM offers full screen mode. But there will be plenty of ROM's with PIE available within the next few weeks.
I hope Google gives us the option to hide it a bit more, such as in the camera, video and gallery apps...
It's a waste of space and is one of my major gripes with the phone (I still love it).
I do find that the extra bevel space at the bottom gives you a much better place to grip the phone.
Get another phone.

It's not. How easy is it to take same approach as galaxy ? I don't see any cons in doing that.
It's just terrible how much useful space it eats up now.
I got rid of my navbar. Using pie controls instead. The extra screen real estate is awesome, especially for gaming.

I like the navbar, I just don't like how big it is. Once Xposed is working for 4.4 I'll ditch the pie controls and just shrink the navbar down to my liking.

I like the navbar, and it's a key feature of Nexus devices. If you think it's stupid, don't get a Nexus device. Simple as that.
I swear, this is just like people who buy Samsung phones and then complain that they hate Touchwiz. If you hate an intrinsic property of a specific phone, maybe just don't buy that phone. Seems pretty obvious to me.

You do know that the nav bar goes away for full screen apps made with 4.4 in mind and in nearly all full screen videos until the screen is touched, right? What do you need that extra space for when you're not watching a video or playing a game?

Google was never fast at coming with good designs. It took them like 2-3 years to come up with a nice looking design for android. Same for web.
So I hope in a next iteration they will get rid of nav bar on phones whatsoever.
Count me in as a nav bar supporter. It's not like it takes up that much space. Plus, on custom roms, you can customize it, which is a lot of fun as well!

Yeah the iPhone definitely doesn't have that capability, at least not without some serious jailbreak hacks. Maybe he's just pressing the home button on accident when he 'swipes'.
IPhones don't have it. I'm 100% sure. But android does. You can slide across the screen or double tap to turn it on with faux kernel or Nexus Touch control (doesn't wok with the nexus 5 yet)

Yea... i used to use an iPhone (owned a 3GS and 4 before switching to Android with the Motorola Atrix) and never saw such a feature with those. Can't imagine that being something Apple would do. Unless, of course... Google decides to do it at some point. Then maybe Apple will do something similar 3 years prior.

Yeah. Pretty soon the kernel devs are going to start implementing those features just like in the N4.
Went back to my friend and told him the feedback. He forgot it was his BB Z10, not the iphone so that clears it up. Still would be a nice feature.
I will be getting a note edge and currently my wife has a LG g3 and I love the knock knock feature to turn it on. Does anybody know if the note edge has a similar feature to knock or swipe the side edge screen to turn it on? If not I plan on developing an app to accomplish that, if the sdk allows.

I tried but nothing worked. Then again there may be a particular way the swipe gesture works?? I can tell you that the edge screen wakes up if you just rub it right to left.
Thx. I am going to see about building some functionality for that.

I would say this regarding battery drain... I have not rooted my wife's G3 and she uses the knock knock feature roughly 100 times per day lets say on average. Her battery has never been less than 45% with super heavy usage. Usually around 73% by the time she gets home at 5:15.
She plays games, Keeps the brightness on 90% (no auto), checks emails/texts/IM a bunch, pinterest, facebook, keeps the gps on, bluetooth off. So I would say it doesn't drain the battery enough to complain about if barely at all. Now, maybe LG built this feature into the firmware or something i don't know about, where it doesn't need the screen and maybe it uses one of the ICs that detect vibration or something.
I keep accidently pressing the buttons while playing games or watching videos. Is there any way to disable them and use software buttons instead? I remember one of the roms I used on my S4 had this option.
