I have a new galaxy gt-5282, and there is a feature I want to remove. Whenever I dial a nr., an icon of the normal shape of a lock is shown, and I have to tap it twice so I can talk. Nothing in the call settings is mentioned about this. How can I remove this lock ? like a normal S2,S3 or S4 ?
H hope this is the right place for this thread.

I think its because your phone doesn't have a proximity sensor, maybe that's why Samsung added this feature.. because my old Samsung Corby had a similar (but far less annoying) feature like this...
So I don't think Samsung made an "Off" switch for this.. and the only way to remove it might be via framework or SystemUI editing.. look for a custom ROM for your phone with this feature disabled... and I'm sorry for not being able to provide you with the correct solution mate

Thank you Sami for your efforts. My original phone is S4, I just bought the GT-5282 yesterday, as it has 2 sim cards and I need that in my traveling. I opened it just today.
I have also 4.1.2 on this small phone, but you may be right, I do not see any thing beside the loud speaker at all, so it does not have a proximity sensor, but I do not see how this lock will help in such a case.
Custom ROM may be the solution, but I could not find here, or on Android forums anything about this GT-5282, they are not mentioning it at all.

Yeah, this is the problem with many mid-range or low-range phones.. There aren't many people who use this phone.. and most of them are probably average users and not Android geeks or developers...
Anyways, Proximity sensors are important for a smartphone or any touch-screen phone.. Its important because it detects how close the screen of the phone is to your body. This allows the phone to sense when you have brought the phone up to your ear. At that point, the display turns off in order to save battery. It also stops detecting "touches" to avoid unwanted input, until you take the phone away from your ear... Nowadays most phones have it and since this phone doesn't maybe that's why Samsung added that feature instead..
And yeah, you don't have to type "thank you" to thank me.. just clicking on that "thanks" button is enough

Hi all!
Iam missing every call and sms in silent vibration mode when iam walking in the street... soooo
Can i customise the vibration pattern for incoming calls and sms???
Iam using HyperNonSense ICS 3.32 based.
Maybe some registry hacks?
And not "Tasker" plz...
Thanks in advance!Sry if its nooby
First off, I'm a new member to XDA and others may have better suggestions then myself, but I figure I'd try and help you out.
For the voice calls, when the phone is in vibrate mode there is already a vibrate pattern that the phone uses. As for changing the pattern, I'm not sure how to do this.
For the sms issue, I personally use an app call "Handcent SMS". In the settings for the app, under "Settings->Notification Settings->Notification Settings->Vibrate Pattern->Custom" you can change the pattern.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully someone else has more information.
Eeeh, its not the way i was looking 4 =) but thanks anyway..
I've found an app called "Smart Vibrator" in market, but it seems do nothing. Iam changing the pattern but it remains the same it was =(
Maybe in XDA were threads with useful apps for such customising?
P.S. is it OK for u all,who read this topic, to have such a badly vibration?
Or u got another methods to improve it?
Or doesnt matter at all 4 u? =)
Write suggestions plz =)

Are you using some kind of cover for the device?
Even with the soft (Silicon) back cover on my phone I can still feel it vibrating in my pocket.

Hi,
My touch screen of my HTC chacha doesn't work well.
Is a driver problem ? I tried several ROm as CyanogenMod, Stock Plus, Void, and I've the same problem.
How Can I fix it?
Thanks for your help
hardware issue
i tried those ROMS too, it was working perfect for me..
maybe a hardware issue?
Can you be more specific?
Maybe you should get it back to stock and get it for warranty. Sounds like you have a ground problem. Heard it on another forum with another phone, but basically, if the ground pin of you phone isn't properly connected, the screen won't work like it should.
Hope this helps.
Thanks everyone ....
It's sporadic. Shoud it comme from the battery?
I don't have the HTC invoice as it's buying second hand

Not sure... Maybe someone could check it for you? And yeah, it comes from the battery... It's the middle pin if i'm correct... Might also be a bad contact on your battery from oxydation...

In waiting I put money into a new battery. I already remove the HtcLockScreen.apk, but now it's the lock screen by default of Android which is tacking the place of the older.
That's boring because the touch screen doesn't work well. I would like a lock screen which a password code or something else like this for bypassing the touch screen access.
Do you know how to remove it?
lockscreen problem
for the lockscreen problem could you use an app called 'widget locker lockscreen'
here is the link (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker)
I installed Lock Off, that's solve my slider problem.

But That doesn't solve the touch screen problem........
I have the phone for two days now, but I noticed that unlike GS4 and GS5, GS6 is missing these two important features!
there is no "answer vibration" feature , so if someone answer my call I can't let the device vibrate!
you can't put a "direct call" icon in the desktop! now you can put contact icon, then after clicking it will take you to the contact page for that person!
Anyone, is this the case with you? anyone know how to solve it?!
Go into the dialer settings and under call alerts you'll find what you're looking for.

Don't think it's Samsung. Looks like Google removed the shortcuts for the direct call, email, sms, etc... In lollipop from what I can find. I been searching and not much info on the web about this, guess me and you the few that used that feature.

it might be, but I used Lollipop in my GS5 and the feature was there!
I am most annoyed about the vibration thing! I even flashed a German ROM in my mobile but the vibrate on answer feature didn't show up! :crying:

Direct call is different from a shortcut. With direct call you click the icon and it calls the assigned person. With the shortcut as in the screen you posted, it takes you to the contacts page, where you then call text etc...
Thanks though

Thank you for your answer, this feature is important to me. I tired to install the T-Mobil US ROM. but it failed with Odin! I guess because my phone is G920F. and the T-Mobil pone is G920I.
For the second point, I agree with tenxo. Galaxy phones used to have direct calls.

This ROM is what you're looking for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-beta-1-t3082467
Now I can't tell you if this ROM will work on your phone, but it has the option to turn on Vibrate on Call. This ROM is also a "LITE" rom, so it de-bloats alot of things. So read carefully, and ask questions BEFORE you flash.

I don't use the ROM (I haven't rooted yet--waiting/hoping of a way to root without tripping KNOX), but I wanted to read about it and that Vibrate on Calls caught my eye because I remember someone asking about that feature. So I came back here to tell you about it. I'm T-Mobile US, so I already have that feature OTB. Weird some don't have that simple feature. Odd. But you're welcome, and good luck!

Hi guys, i'm coming from the Moto 360 Sport, and interested in getting the Huawei Watch 2 Sport, simple because Moto crippled it after the AW 2.0 upgrade, ridiculously slow to use now.
With the Moto 360 Sport, it did have a display feature called "AnyLight ", that displays in 'any light' and i loved that.
Motorola accomplishes it by combining a traditional backlit LCD in "transmissive" display with reflective backing. Or something like that.
Anyway, I really like this feature, see screens attached.
I was wondering what the Huawei Watch 2 Sport/Classic screens look like in dim/ambient mode. Does it have this idea?
Anyone care to share some photo of this, as I've read/watched so many reviews, but cannot see what this looks like.
Thanks a lot.
Darren.
Hw2 is amoled so in ambient modes is uses much much less battery because of the black pixels being off, but this feature that you're talking about is not available in hw2, however the watch display is very sharp and shiny even in direct sun light.
also be aware that amoled screens get damaged (burn-in issue) if a pixel is on a particular color for a long time, meaning that for example on ambient mode there are numbers around the screen that are always on, this may cause those numbers to burn in the screen so even when you are in a completely different screen, you will still see those numbers! (for more info google Burn-in)
Just adding to what was already said regarding burn in. Most watch face makers that support ambient move include a feature which shifts the pixels around ever so slightly to prevent burn in. A very simple yet elegant solution to the problem.

yeah if that's as you said it would be great, I havent noticed it yet
So I just found something interesting. Under developer options > Wear Developer options there is a "force anti burn" setting. Set this up now to give it a try.

hi seems like relevant topic for my question.
are there many disadvantages to get the wifi only (non 4G) of this huawei watch 2? (i get the obvious i cant put sim card and get direct internet connection of course). for example:
will the NFC still works on the non 4G model?
how about the xda community ie root twrp and custom rom? less or more than global version?
any other important things i need to know when deciding to get wifi only or 4G?
thank you.

Do I have to be soft and sweet when telling him the truth here on xda? If telling someone the truth straight up is so mean and offensive to you than maybe you shouldn't be on the internet
The feature he wants(answering the phone using his preferred dialer app on the cover screen ) isn't supported on this device. Either use the app that supports the feature he wants or deal with the fact that he has to open his phone to answer the phone. Those are his options, unless you have another solution
I too was surprised by your tone - it seemed unnecesary to me, plus the fact you answered but didn't offer a solution. We don't need to be soft and sweet - just correct. If you spoke like that to a stranger in real life, it wouldn't end well...
Actually, zorantomas' post is the solution - so you dial out with True Phone, and incoming calls are handled via the Samsung phone app. That works, you can answer from the small display directly, and use the True Phone UI to make calls.
In short I doubt we will ever see 3rd part widgets for the small display since there will be security concerns about what is displayed without having to unlock the device, and it's a capability for - atm - a single product line.
