SMS and phone calls not working either ways after installing Paranoid Android - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, first time poster here, I have a problem. I am completely unable to send/receive phone calls after I downloaded paranoid android, and I would really like to know how to fix this.
Images are attached, except for 2 of them (size limit)
I would attach a link to the reddit thread I made, but I can't until 10 posts.

What carrier/provider? Verified APNs and you aren't using LTE only data mode?

My provider is Sprint. Not sure about APNs. I am not using LTE only data. Sprint data works, (3G and 4G) and so does WiFi.

Run a profile update from settings -> more -> mobile networks -> carrier settings

For future reference, if you are missing your phone number like that you need to update your profile. The profile contains the programming information for the network, similar to the info that GSM based networks store on the SIM card.

3g/4g network

Hi. I bought One S in USA (T-mobile version, unblocked) and bring to Europe (Slovakia). Call and SMS works well but data network does not work. Could be the reason the phone is 4g and there is only 3g network in Slovakia? Is there any trick how to solve this? Thank you guys.
Are you sure your One S supports 4G (LTE) ? Never heard that yet. There are countries in which the 3G (UMTS/HSPA) standard is defined as 4G. very confusing...
Maybe you have to set up the APN preferences. You need the right settings for your carrier.
Thanks. I tried this, no change. I see Disconnected on "Mobile network" settings.

I also had this problem, click on names access points and click on your carrier then it should find your carrier and data connection.

Could you be more specific please? Thanks.

Options>Mobile Network>Access Points and then click on the carrier you have.
When I did that my data connection started working. Even when It already had the carrier automatically listed.
English is not my native language sorry.

I had to create new APN here, nothing was listed automatically .

Problem solved. APN settings were wrong.

Sprint n5 users.

How do you go about updating PRL / profile? Is it under settings like the Gnex? Thanks! Just curious before I buy.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I believe it should be possible
It uses a WTR1605L Chip and from what it appears CDMA tools should work on it.
My goal is to get one working PagePlus however, I canceled my order in fears that it may not work and will wait until it's confirmed.
Yes, it's possible.
For the curious, Settings > More... > Mobile Networks > Carrier Settings

Nothing on the user accessible settings although you can switch to LTE or 3G only instead of global and the device will recognize your carrier settings. There should be more stuff under *#*#3282#*#*

They relocated it.
Settings-->more (under wireless & networks)->mobile networks->carrier settings-> update PRL and update Profile

Settings-->more (under wireless & networks)->mobile networks->Network mode (choose from LTE/3g/1x/Global - Global is apparently the default - phone switches to that after a profile/PRL update).

Why is my Moto G constantly dropping calls?

I'm using 4.4.3 and every phone call my moto G drops the call and the 3G symbol changes to E. I'm using straight talk AT&T sim.

Believe he/she is referring to the app named "network" which apparently switches berween network modes which maybe its an app (not legit) I wouldn't install as you can do so in phone settings -> more -> mobile networks -> preferred network type. Not sure how worthwhile that is, its worth a try, even if its not the greatest thing to manually keep on switching if you want 4g.
I've had some dropped calls with the phone when the cells are very low, and was impossible to talk to anyone because of it. But, you could always use google hangouts etc. and make free internet calls too with no drops.
Unsure if anyone has released a tweak or if one of the custom roms will help out there.

mobile data stop working

Hi, my mate 9 mobile data stopped working today for no reason, only thing I did was connect the phone to the hotel wifi last night, not sure why is doing this. I tested the sim card on another phone and mobile data works fine so is not a service provider issue, has anyone experienced same behavior before? I already restart the phone and verify mobile settings but issue persist and have no data traffic unless I connect to wifi

Have you checked Settings -> More that data is turned on for mobile? Also check your APNs. Settings -> More -> Mobile Network -> Access point names.

yes all settings checked, I even disable restarted and enable them again
Are you on T-Mobile? If so it's an APN bug.. You have to create a new APN with the same settings and use that. The default one causes mobile data to keep being lost...
Thanks, this fixed it for me.

Was driving me nuts, took some trial and error. FYI i think some of the newer roms no longer have this issue, although because of the stupid Huawei blocking updates by IMEI you might need to install via FirmwareFinder.
Great thanks!! But I keep mine stock.

Android P WIFI Preferred Setting

Any one figure out how to set WIFI preferred calling now on Pixel 2 XL now that the ADB command won't change it anymore? Verizon Pixel 2 XL here
Thanks
Have you tried: Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Network -> Advanced -> Wi-Fi Calling

Yes the WIFI calling setting works but it defaults to Mobile Preferred first and then WIFI in no signal, before there was an ADB command line that set it to WIFI preferred so that it automatically went to wifi calling as primary when connected to WIFI
What rom are you running? I used it successfully on the March stock build. It doesn't work for me now on aquariOS but vzw wifi calling isn't yet supported so I haven't pushed it.

Same scenario here.. Pixel 2 XL with the Android P Open Beta. Ran the adb commands and it's not updating to wifi preferred.
Same on Android P beta VZW. I don't think that command is in the settings list anymore
My mistake, it must be something else:
sailfish:/system $ settings get global wfc_ims_mode

Update: after reboot it looks like the setting returns to -1. Not sure what that means.... Maybe Google has a bug here ?
Another update: It looks like Verizon is pushing a setting on the Carrier Configuration that is causing the global setting wfc_ims_mode to revert back to -1 after reboot. The only fix I found so far it to have VZW re-provision the WiFi Calling OR it will WFC will not work at all if the wfc_ims_mode is set in global.
I made a bug case for the issue just in case I am wrong.

You had Verizon re-provision or just saying they would have to do it? Also is that an option?
Thanks
Sorry that I wasn't clear... I could not get wifi calling to work at all after setting wfc_ims_mode. I then reset network setting and made sure the value was reset to null. I then called Verizon to have them reset HD voice and re-provision Wi-Fi Calling. This took quite some time of course, as they wanted me to go through a lot of troubleshooting. After this I waited 10 minutes and rebooted phone and Wi-Fi Calling worked again but mobile was again preferred. I verified this by using airplane mode with WI-FI.

OK thanks. I didn't have that problem. The ADB command just did nothing. My WIFI calling wasn't messed up at all
Final update. Google confirms that Verizon has set the carrier setting and Android P. Is not allowing us to override that in the global settings, which is their intent. See the bug I posted previously. Hopefully, Airplane mode still works for everyone though it would be helpful if you could set it up with Tasker -root.
