How do you go about updating PRL / profile? Is it under settings like the Gnex? Thanks! Just curious before I buy.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I believe it should be possible
It uses a WTR1605L Chip and from what it appears CDMA tools should work on it.
My goal is to get one working PagePlus however, I canceled my order in fears that it may not work and will wait until it's confirmed.

Yes, it's possible.

Nothing on the user accessible settings although you can switch to LTE or 3G only instead of global and the device will recognize your carrier settings. There should be more stuff under *#*#3282#*#*

They relocated it.
Settings-->more (under wireless & networks)->mobile networks->carrier settings-> update PRL and update Profile

Settings-->more (under wireless & networks)->mobile networks->Network mode (choose from LTE/3g/1x/Global - Global is apparently the default - phone switches to that after a profile/PRL update).

You can turn data on and off. There is actually an HTC widget that toggles data on and off.
Go to the market there is an app that you can use to toggle on stock rom. Just search 3G.

Just uncheck "Mobile Network" under Wireless and Network in Settings.

I found a way to turn off 3g/4g and have Edge enabled by going to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > here you can toggle from WCDMA Only; GSM Only; GSM/WCDMA Auto (default). Selecting GSM Only switching my connection to Edge. How can we create a shortcut/toggle for this option?

There is no such option on the Inspire 4g.
*#*#4636#*#* is the option. Dial it. Go to phone. Scroll down. Select gsm only.

Turning off 4G speed is easy. Turn on the phone, it doesn't exist

Using: *#*#4636#*#*
Then selecting GSM does not work for me..still reverts back to 3G "H+)
Any other suggestions? Do I have to root to get access to all the grayed out network options?
Thanks

*#*#4636#*#*
Hi,
At random: *#*#4636#*#*, maybe it's what the OP want
Are you asking for settings such as Band priority, EVDO, etc?
*#*#3282#*#* (3282 = data)
Need MSL to edit

Helped me enable all tri-band, etc for data related. Option includes data profile, browser settings, MMSC, multimedia, EVDO/LTE, device self service, APN setting and advanced. Phone settings depend on which ones needed I suppose.

Huh. I guess it's carrier specific. On ATT and Verizon that code sends a text to you with your data usage. Tmobile does nothing with it. I guess sprint has a different function.
Yeah, Sprint is the one with this functioning I should have mentioned. I guess carrier specific as you mentioned.
works on simple mobile as well

SMS and phone calls not working either ways after installing Paranoid Android

Hi, first time poster here, I have a problem. I am completely unable to send/receive phone calls after I downloaded paranoid android, and I would really like to know how to fix this.
Images are attached, except for 2 of them (size limit)
I would attach a link to the reddit thread I made, but I can't until 10 posts.
What carrier/provider? Verified APNs and you aren't using LTE only data mode?

My provider is Sprint. Not sure about APNs. I am not using LTE only data. Sprint data works, (3G and 4G) and so does WiFi.

For future reference, if you are missing your phone number like that you need to update your profile. The profile contains the programming information for the network, similar to the info that GSM based networks store on the SIM card.

[Q] APN settings in Android 5 gone?

I am running Android 5.0.1 on my Nexus 5 and my carrier is Sprint. I need to change my APN settings, but I can't seem to find them. All the posts I find say to go to, " Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names", but those are instructions for previous versions of Android. I have not been able to find the location in Android 5. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm Running Android 5.0.1 too and my access point settings are under Settings > More > Mobile networks > Access point names? How far are you able to get by following those instructions?

Go in to the "secret dialer" menu. Open your dialer and type *#*#46363#*#*, go to "Phone Information", and scroll down. There'll be a menu labled "Set preferred network type". Your phone is CDMA and mine is GSM, so the options might be different than what I see. Just choose the one with the most options (with LTE of course). Wait several moments and see if you've got a data connection.
EDIT: I just noticed in your pictures that you're connected to WiFi. Maybe the APN settings don't show up unless you're connected through cellular data? They show up on mine when connected to WiFi, but one phone is a Samsung running 4.2.2, and the other is a Nexus 4 running a custom 4.4.4 ROM, so that could be different from stock Lollipop.
Dumb question perhaps, but are you sure you didn't accidentally toggle your data off?

Hmm, that seems strange, would it be possible for you to change ROM to a custom, and then see if you could access network settings? If not then maybe try a simple factory reset?

I'll give it a shot. It'll have to be later tonight or tomorrow though. I'll post the results then.

Set network mode to 2G/3G only

Is there any way to set network mode to 2G/3G only?
In settings there are only options for 5G/LTE or LTE.

I can but during events with large crowds, 4G network can sometimes get so congested where 3G actually works better.
It has to do with having a bad mobile network operator as well
