[Q] Touch screen responsiveness fading after boot - Software or hardware? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently revived my TF101 from the dead after deciding the other day to buy a new charger - last time I used it, it had a slow charge issue which a new charger fixed perfectly! It's probably been off for ~1 year.
After turning it on, I noticed after a while that the responsiveness of the touch screen was awful - I flashed the latest version of KatKiss thinking it would fix it. Turns out this problem occurs even when in TWPR Recovery, but I want to be sure that it's a hardware issue before going through the hassle of replacing the digitizer. I would be awful to replace it and still have the same issue
Exact symptoms:
When the tablet is first powered on, touch screen works as intended.
As time goes on, the tablet becomes less and less responsive, eventually reaching the point where no touch is registered!
Advice on this would be greatly appreciated - is this a software (kernal?) issue or do I need to get a new digitizer?
EDIT: Just figured out it was because I was using it while it was charging - apparently this makes a difference! I feel a bit silly

[Q] [HELP] Sensation *temp* bricked? Hardware problem?

Ok I've been rooted and modding for almost 2 years now, and this is the first real problem I have had. Just know that ANY suggestions and/or info are appreciated. Ok on with the problem
It looks like the LCD is going out after living with a cracked digitizer for a couple months. first the screen just went grey static and fuzzy. I would put pressure on it, and it would come back and be fine. then it started going completely black, and then i would put pressure on the screen/smack it and it would come back. Now the LCD isn't backlit and is completely nonresponsive.
It seems like it would be a hardware issue, but Im not so sure.. It wasnt doing this at first, but now when I [pull battery and] power on, it gives that short buzz like it does when the splash screen should come up (but doesnt of course), I wait for a minute then it gives that short buzz again, and again like it is in bootloop. The only signs of life are a blinking red LED, vibrating motor, and sometimes if Im lucky the backlight on the 4 keys on the bottom.
I have no access to recovery, bootloader, or splashscreen, and not really sure what to do. Is there a chance that this is a software thing (a kid could wish). If your do believe it is the LCD where is the place to get a cheapest replacement LCD and digitizer? Also could it be a hardware issue to the fatal non-replaceable components?
FYI: rom-eyecandy with bricked kernel not overclocked
So you have damaged hardware? Cracked LCD - I think there is no need to search further for the root cause...

[Q] TF101 unresponsive touchscreen

So one day my TF101's touchscreen just became unresponsive. No matter what I try, I cannot get any kind of response from the touchscreen. However the track pad still manages to work. Any thoughts or ideas on how to fix this problem, or is anyone having a similar problem? I am currently running the latest Revolver Rom and a stock kernel. There is also no physical damage to the tablet that would lead me to believe that it is a hardware issue.

My TF101 suffers from this and it had me stumped for a while. I determined it was a hardware problem when I got so frustrated, i started doing "impact engineering." I gently pressed on various places along the back of the tablet and somehow reengaged the touchscreen connectivity. To this day, it still cuts in and out, but pressing the back of the tablet in different places ultimately reengages it. I'd send it back for repair, but the tablet is about 18 months old and I am probably just going to buy something new in the next 6 months or so anyway. If yours is newer, you should probably RMA it.
FWIW, the area on the back that seems to reengage the touchscreen is the rear upper left when you are holding it in landscape mode with the front camera top/center.
Good luck!

[Q] Random touch Screen clicks when phone isn't operated!

I'm using Fallout v5 ROM from a month without any problem, but lately I have seen a really irritating touch screen glitch which I know is not ROM related.
Problem:
I'm seeing some random screen clicks and swipes (as though a ghost is operating my phone) and during this my phone touch screen becomes un-responsive. But I can turn the screen off using the power button and after turning the screen on sometimes the problem does reappear. I did some googling for this problem and found that many android users have seen this but none have a solution or know the root cause of the problem.
The guesses as to the Root of this problem floating around are:
1. Caused by erroneous charger (I charge from PC or from htc charger only)
2. Caused by high temperatures or humidity (I have seen this problem other wise too)
Lately the frequency of the problem is increasing and sometimes the phone is unusable. My theory for the behavior is that the battery needs replacement as my phone is already 1.5 years old. Willing to try any suggestions you guys suggest. I have already done a full wipe and tried 2 ROM but the problem re-appears.
Any help is appreciated.

Finicky LCD? Other problems too

So i've been having a lot of issues with my N5 lately, mostly small stuff like general slowness, poor battery life, not surprising on an almost 3 year old phone. I also lose cell service way too frequently (not an issue with my carryer, all my friends are on the same network and are fine). Camera won't focus anymore (though im pretty sure this was my fault, probably broke it while taking it apart). I'm pretty sure the battery connector on my motherboard is damaged. I've had many problems with the battery reading its temperature as -30 C (battery heath "cold"), i've replaced the battery 4 times now and i still get that problem every now and then. Pushing on the connector fixes it temporarily, so im pretty sure some pin is bent slightly out of place and i don't know how to fix that. It recently started having this issue where just moving or bumping the phone the wrong way would cause the phone to shut off. Probably an issue with the battery connector again. I tried fiddling with it but it didn't do much.
The other day i turned it on and the LCD was backlit, but black except for one single vertical white line. Rebooted and it looked normal. Few hours later i got really pissed off with it for shutting off in the middle of an important text and threw it at the wall (not the best idea i know). Screen was already cracked so i didn't really care. Ever since then the LCD has been a real pain in the ass. i can turn the phone on but there's nothing on the screen. Ii get haptic feedback when the Google logo would up, and the notification LED is flashing like i have a message. The backlight is on and pushing hard on the cable connecting the motherboard to the daughter board i can see it start to turn on, (Google logo, few seconds of boot animation) but then back to black (while still backlit).
I can post photos if it would help diagnose/fix this, my phone is my main camera and i don't want to bother anyone if i don't have to.
Anyone know any tricks that might squeeze another mouth out of this dying phone? Any response is appreciated, Thanks!
The issues could have been related to the power button or physical internal damage. My suggestion: replace the screen with a cheap 3rd party screen if the internal components are still working. This will give you more time with your existing phone and allow you to have a working backup.

Nexus 5 Black Screen Issue

Hey, I m facing problem of nexus 5 black screen issue it turns on but nothing shows on display...(display tested works, and flex cable also replaced)
Can anyone help in this??
There is no display in fastboot mode either?
If you are sure the display connecting cables work, sounds like a motherboard problem.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but I thought it would be easier to post in here since I seem to be having a similar issue. I can't figure out if it is software-related or hardware-related.
I recently updated my Nexus 5 to Lineage OS 14.1 (11/7/17) and my screen began glitching. After an indeterminate length of time, my screen starts bugging out - the touchscreen won't register any touches, pixels get glitched and then it usually goes black. Sometimes the display will reset itself, and other times it will stay just black. Now the odd thing is if I force a reset by holding the power button down, I can get it to reboot and usually it fixes the issue... briefly. I've noticed sometimes however that even the boot animations will glitch out too, but by the time it gets to my home screen it's just fine, again for an indeterminate amount of time
The phone was bought used from Swappa probably almost a year ago now. Worked great up until now, I'm sure it's been dropped before both by me and the previous owner, but the screen itself from the outside doesn't show any signs of damage (No cracks, scratches).
I've since gone back to an early October build of LOS14.1 that wasn't giving me any issues like this, but I'm still getting them. So I'm leaning towards it being a very odd hardware issue or maybe I need to Factory Reset and dirty flashing updates is catching up to me.
