[Q] solution to find the lost/stolen mobile using IMEI - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I have wrote this post to notify everyone that how much secured our mobile phone is:
I googled for the mobile device security apps & I found many security apps, but all these apps are of no use to trace once mobile is done factory reset/flashed.
this is because maximum security apps are either depending on the Gmail account(or other accounts) or installed security apps logined/stored data in the phone to find/trace the lost device
& also these requires DATA & GPS to be enabled or at least sim to be inserted.
So, once mobile is done factory reset by pressing the hard keys combination (maximum theifs does not care of mobile data) all the gmail/facebook....etc accounts which are synced & installed security apps with the data are lost &
which makes the device untracable.
now in this case only hope will be with the IMEI tracker, which can be done by the cyber police only &
Which is the headache task for a device owner to get get help with the cyber police in tracing the mobile.
what could be the solution, after my small analysis i think the solution would be providing the high security from Google/Iphone and OS frameworks level only as mentioned below.
1. Security Level
A Google primary account & Owner phone no which is synced with device should not be erased even after factory reset.
The removing/changing of Google primary account & Owner phone should be PIN protected.
Then whatever changes like SIM change, Google primary account or Owner phone no added/changed, Factory reset done to that device(may be some more scenarios we can add)
should be notified with proper info containing the current inserted SIM info/changed primary account info to the already/previously registered Google primary account & also same notifed as SMS to already/previous registered Owner phone no.
[This activity should be done till delivery report is success.]
still analysing for more security levels

[Q] Android data under Google Dashboard blank

Hi all,
For some reason the info under my Google Dashboard > Android device is nearly blank. Basically, when I click on the link 'Data stored for your xxxx Android device' all I see is the IMEI number and the last date that I activated/accessed my phone.
Here is some background.
I've only ever owed the single Nexus S, which has always been backed up with my Google account. Long ago, when I was just on stock (no root, nothing) my casual browsing showed what info my Google account had backed up regarding my Android settings etc (number of wifi spots, passwords etc). All was as per what might be expected.
Since rooting, I have flashed a number of different ROMs, including PixelROM, CyberGR, MIUI Catalyst (among others) and now my current constant is AOKP (b36). Goes without saying that I don't "dirty flash": always wipe as much possible before flashing new ROM/kernels etc. As far as I know the info about my Android phone has always been backed up into the Google account. The possible exception is MIUI which showed something weird instead of the info about the Google account I was backing up with. In checking whether the MIUI ROM was storing info in my Google account, I might have unchecked the backup option (which supposedly deletes all user info) and re-enabled it.
Since then, my Google dashboard shows only the IMEI number and when my phone was last accessed. A recent wipe showed me it *is* storing info about wifi passwords etc in my Google account -- basically when it signed into my account, it restored wifi settings etc. For some reason, a summary of this info just isn't appearing under Dashboard the way it should. My friend who is also running AOKP on a Nexus S showed me that a summary of his phone backup info does appear under Dashboard (where mine does not).
Any ideas/thoughts about what might be going on? Its not something I'm too worried about, just a little irritating that it doesn't show the info.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Never mind, the process of wiping completely, flashing a stock ROM and logging in, then reinstalling AOKP appears to have allowed Google to start logging me the way I like.. again.
Could mods delete this thread? Turned out to be pretty pointless.

Problem with sold cell phone, please help.

Hi, i sold my old phone and forgot to disable the account security, i used factory reset before giving it to the buyer, now the person i sold it can't use it because it's asking for my google account after the reset. Is there any way i can disable that phone security from my google account? the buyer says i have to give him my main account (which for obvious personal reasons i don't want to) so he can deactivate it from the phone. Thanks for help.
There is no official way. You have to log in with your google account and then remove it from the phone. After a factory reset the device protection will be disabled.

HELP "Forgot lockscreen pattern" !

HELLO

REGARDS
just enter an invalid passwor a few times, and it will take you to the forgot password page.
You can then enter your google account email, and proceed to unlock it with your google account password, or create a new pattern. ( You have to have a google account created when setting up the phone, but don't need it logged in on mobile).
If you perform a factory reset, you will still need your google account email and password, as those are saved to a protected partition on the phone, and you cannot erase that. This is to prevent people from stealing phones.

Sold Android phone - buyer now needs my login to activate???

I just sold my LG G5 phone on eBay for spares, as the touchscreen was damaged and could not be used. I used the remote wipe feature on my Google account to remove my details from the phone.
The person who bought the phone is now being asked to provide login details of a Google account which was previously synced with the phone, so has asked me to provide my account name and password. Obviously I'm not keen to handover my credentials, even if it's only for a few minutes before I change my password again.
Is there any way around this - i.e. any way that the buyer can get into the phone without me having to give him my login credentials?

Need advice on Google account recovery.

Edit: I've added a screenshot from Google sent to my recovery account (also me,) which shows I am the recovery account (yet have. Mino) contacted me when trying to log in.(
I have a most bizarre problem getting back into my account that I can't believe is happening. Here it goes: (This account is hugely important to me as it's only access to my YouTube channel I've been working on for more than a year,)
I'm the owner of both the locked out account [email protected] and it's recovery email aaaaa@gmail.com which is logged in fine.
Despite having the correct email, password, the physical phone in my hands which has always been used on both accounts, sending this from the same WiFi always uses, located at the same location always used, and as I mentioned the recovery email, I am locked out of [email protected] due to what must.be a mistake.
Here is what happened:
On March 27th, I decided it was time to just factory reset my phone. I make videos for my YouTube channel, and my phone had less then a gig of storage so I decided to do the factory reset.
Just.prior to doing so, I realized it may take me awhile even just to remember the password to get back in since autifilll normally does that for me. So I decided to figure it out before resetting my phone, and reset the password as well so it was fresh on my mind when logging into the reset phone. There are screenshots attached of everything.
Now here is the huge problem which I am unable to get around .
When attempting to log back into my account from my reset phone, iit asked that I provide the one time use code from settings / Google / password!!
Understand, I entered in the correct email address and password, but what it now is asking me to provide is literally impossible to provide for anyone who reset their phone and has not been able to put the email address back on the phone. The code Google is asking me for dies bit exist on a freshly reset phone , and there is not one person in the world who just reset their phone that could provide that number.
And that is the I only option I am being given despite the fact, I own and have access to the recovery email address [email protected] which they have not contacted. And despite the fact I'm using the exact phone and WiFi from the same location always used for this email.
Is there any way thjs can be fixed? I have a YouTube channel with an enormous amount of tied to that account and it's important.
Please respond with your device name. I understood that you are locked out of your device and can't complete the setup. If it is so you just have to reset the FRP partition. Please provide your phohe name to move ahead
Users typically remove all Google accounts from phone - note: their data are stored in accounts.db database - before performing a Factory Reset thus they wil not run into such a trouble.
