First Impressions...
1. It's very light. For such a big device it feels so light in the hand.
2. The battery life is VERY STRONG.
3. I'm surprised how fast the battery charge just using the regular USB 2.0.
4. It's very clean and sexy.
5. There is ALOT of bloatware. I'd say half is useful and half isn't.
Overall, VERY HAPPY with my decision.

OK... Here you go..
Request: Chess engine benchmark seems to be very challanging for some cpus... So just install free droidfish app, set 4 threads in settings, and from initial position press 'M' button (just below the board) and choose 'Analysis Mode' - wait few seconds and report the 'nps:' number you see at bottom of the screen... Will it pass 1000k?
Is it snapdragon or exynos?

Congratulations, but how can someone seriously judge battery life within the first few hours of owning a device? Absurd.
Um Sprint prices $349 for this is um ridiculous compared to other carrier's $299. I'll wait for someone to trade theirs on Craigslist for an S4. Lol

Yeah, with $21 tacked onto your bill for the next 24 months. Definitely not less expensive than Sprint.

Hey all,
I had already ordered a Black Sapphire 32 GB version but I'm still in a state of confusion with N6 and S6. The battery backup and less Dev support is a bit of concern for me.
Moreover I had come across some RAM Management issues on S6.

Regards.
I've had the nexus 6, it has really bad battery life and problem with the speakers crackling when the battery goes down under 50% (this happens for all nexus 6 even if you buy a new one) So I suggest you NOT to buy the nexus 6.
Come on. Another thread discussing this topic??Aren't there enough of them?

I have both phones and i love both... Nexus 6 have a lot of developments and the battery life is pretty good I have 6-7 hours obviously with a good configuration and custom kernel, s6 are like 8 roms tw based, no cm or aosp for now but de roms go pretty well... S6 I use xtrestolite 2.3 and my n6 have preview 3 jdk rom. Both phone are the best... You have to choose.

With custom rom y have 6-7 hours SOT.
I think that S6 is way better than nexus 6 in general
For me nexus 6 is way toooo big and it hasn't very good screen (at least for me)
If you are not going to root and flash custom roms then S6 is the best bet. But I think you could have waited nexus 2015 which is going to come soon.

If you use it on WiFi or low brightness and using it straight from 100-0. Else you will see 3-6 hour SOT on daily usage if rooted on custom Rom and kernel.
I just wanted to add my opinion on this question. The Samsung gal ax s6 edge is still the best phone on the market. The only advantage the nexus 6 has over the s6 is the software has more dev support and is guaranteed to get official updates for much longer.
There you can see all the data that I have consumed between December / January. 119.8GB .. I have tmobile service two years ago In the plan with unlimited LTE.
As I live in a rural area, the broadband internet coming into this area is very very bad and does not work for nothing, because I live far away from the base of the signal. In my area does not fiber cable but if the copper.
"Download speed does not exceed 350 KB" And that is why I have to use cellular internet, because t-mobile is the only option for unlimited data I have
It happens that I have months consuming about 80GB per month, but this month I have spent more than 100GB and I have half-month. Just to know if I am at risk for canceled me the account or if I can consume that amount or more!? It is I think to use 200 GB this month

I received a text from tmobile around November saying i have 3 months free unlimited 4g lte, did you happened to received that sms too?
Doing some research on the tmobile note 3 forums and found that there will be no official marshmallow update for the note 3... it only recieved one big update and that was lollipop. Im not too sure if it will recieve 6.0 but from the information ive gathered, it seems that it wont be happening. SO.. im thinking about selling my note 5, if i can find someone locally who would want one... and get me a nexus 6p or an iphone 6s/ 6s plus.

Better act quick... or else price will drop and you'll be getting less for what youd paid for. I like this phone but i dont wanna be stuck with a phone that will recieve updates very late. I heard that Samsung will finally release software updates quickly but i guess not. Its been several months now and still no marshmallow update... this will be my last samsung smartphone, until they start updating their phones early and better optimized software then ill probably consider buying their phones again.
I knew samsung was always lacking on their updates... so i guess it was my fault getting the note 5. I mean.. my options were very limited... i wanted to finance a phone. I couldve gotten an iphone 6s or 6s plus but i wanted to try something different because i had an iphone 5s. I just wanted the latest and greatest smartphone, and note 5 was on my mind. Nexus 6p was also on my mind but didnt had the money to spend all at once...

By the looks of the regular galaxy s6 general thread, many international variants have already been pushed the android 6.0 update and a majority of the non-verizon users should have the update in the US soon. Anyone have any idea what the wait time is gonna be like for us poor folks who have verizon?
Should be at least a month after S7 debut.
I just read on Android Authority that the S7 will be announced on February 21st. So I hope that we'll get it no later then April.

Marshmallow has the doze feature that is supposed to help with battery life. But if you are constantly using your phone it may not help much.

Gonna be so pissed if it comes like a day before or after the S7 releases.
will be Mar 10 hahaha
October 13th
Never, or the day before never.
Do you think Verizon will push out the February security patch to us before releasing 6.0? http://security.samsungmobile.com/smrupdate.html#SMR-FEB-2016
My "guess", they want folks to upgrade to the S7 and S7 Plus before the S6, S6 Plus and other phones get 6.0.x
I'm sure the 2015 "flagships" mentioned will get the update maybe 1-2 months after the newer phones launch.
I am mostly looking forward to better battery life on my S6. Today my phone completely died on me at 1:15Pm (unplugged at 7:30 AM). Went from 30 to 25 to 15 to 10 to 1 percent in about 20 minutes.

Yeah this seems to have been their strategy in the past as well. I am certainly looking forward to better battery life as well...hopefully. But who knows though. Even in the past they have pushed updates like the 5.11 update that promised to improve battery life a decent amount, but most us saw little to no improvement at all. It's hard to improve battery life on a super tiny battery.
I have Marshmallow on a Nexus 7 that will soon be retired by the vendor. I just got Marshmallow on my Moto 360 watch. Heck, I even have Marshmallow on a five year old HP TouchPad tablet that wasn't even designed to run Android.
My newest device? This "top of the line" Samsung S6, and no sign of Marshmallow. Smh...
Lol, i wonder if we will get Marshmallow before other devices get the official Android N? ?

My next phone will be a Nexus. Wish the 6p was a little smaller, or the 5x performed a bit closer to the 6p.
Sprint is pushing out the Marshmallow build. Maybe peer pressure will get Verizon moving?
Yeah, I don't really think so either.
Hello all! I found a deal for a Samsung galaxy s6 in retail mode. Or that mode where it only shows advert like store display model. But model is not g920x. It's actually a us cellular phone with valid imei. Can I remove that retail mode or flash another rom on it? And most importantly unlock this for GSM?

Don't waste your time on the s6. Its crap battery life is not worth the hassle. By the time you own it, you'd wish u got a less powerful phone, but with a good battery life!

S6 Flat (2550mAh)/Edge Plus (3000mAh) has a same battery connector as a S7 Edge anyway...
I also suggest you not to buy an S6. I've had one, very poor battery life (with my usage, I charge it like 3/5 times a day, depending if i'm outside or not), with stock nougat it lag everywhere and has a lot of bug and sometimes it stop working. If I would be in your situation, I will buy a OnePlus or a Xiaomi, depending on your budget. Also, if you consider to root your phone and change ROM and kernel, do a favour to yourself and don't buy a Samsung, they literally sucks in this. Rather buy a smarphone with a Snapdragon or search here in the forum his support.
