@P4R
(I created this thread because I'm a new member, I can't answer on the original one. (and usually I don't post on XDA but this ROM got all my attention )
I'm using CM11s port 1.4 on my Nexus 5 this is what I noticed : (clean flash)
- Battery is consumed on sleep, no CPU wake up
- Lockscreen's battery percent doesn't match the system one
- Proximity sensor does't work for checking when to wake up or not
- QuickBoot : the phone goes on this mode, no way to boot again unless I use Power+Vol buttons
- HDR mode should work on this build (1.4) but it doesn't, I have to flash the fix for 1.2 and lower
OnePlus said there're fixes for battery drain in the way...(OTA but when...)
I really liked this ROM, even with less features than the original one ... Knock code in native would be great ! with ElementalX.
the issues are expected, its a port. by nature, ports will be buggy and have issues. but who knows, maybe they will eventually fix them, or not, the next android version will probably be out long before everything works on the port.
One thing to remember is that this is not a port. It's CyanogenMod M8 with added apps and some minor build.prop edits. Any problems you experience are CM problems.

People don't seem to understand that it's CM11 Snapshots lol.
I been using it for couple days now. Lots of great features and it runs very smooth! I am coming from Android L; first i tried PA beta which I thought was very laggy with issues. Then i tried cm11 ROM. I did noticed the battery drainage but its not too bad.

Thought CM11s also was based on M8 but no...
After some reading I've realised how awesome is the real CM11S, lots of fearures are missing here
It gives me a weird feeling... "You'll never get the OPO ROM mwahaha" :/
Port as a reference to the thread's name
The OP call it CM11S Port for Nexus 5 so I did

1.4 build was smooth but has some anoying bugs.
So went to Purity+ after L Preview and now I'm using v1.5 , QuickBoot and Bluetooth problems seems to be solved, battery drain is maybe a hardware issue.

Here is a Cyanogenmod 7.2 Rom!
I built it directly from Cyanogenmod so no worries!
I recently got a Samsung Infuse so I wont be testing these myself before release, but I see no reason why they would cause any problems. I wanna keep you guys updated and such so I most likely WILL do weeklies. As I said before though... CM7 wont drastically change... But it still nice to know your on the latest version

No, it's using the same thing that n260 is using. When I first flashed n260 a while ago, the GPS worked fine for me for a while but eventually would stop getting a lock. If you run into problems, you should be able to flash the older libs to fix it.
soooo...who has tested this? Stability compared to n260? I don't have the time right now to test
Stability is fine liking the disable boot animation option makes boots super fast

Just flashed it and works great so far. I agree, the Disable boot animation feature speeds up the boot a lot!
Are there any other things that have changed that I could make use of or somehow realize?

How is everyone's battery life on this build?
I did a full wipe of data/cache/dalvik and formatted my sdcard when I installed this and I have to say my battery life seems to be better than it has in a long time.
great release... I typically always run some Quadrant tests and saw marginal performance improvements (only 2% @768) compared to the CM7.1 final.
The big improvement I noticed was on GPS lock, which was significantly faster than with 7.1.
Thanks for a great release.

The only ROMs I know of are the CM9 ROMs from either Development or on ROM Manager. We just got a beta version of TWRP Recovery. Kornyone and Wildchild are busy with life at the moment.

Strapped I encountered the keyboard lights issue on my previous device using CM9. You could fix it by disabling als for keyboard backlights.
or use eventd and add a place in the init

There is an old Chinese curse: "may you live in interesting times". On devices like a phone, there is something to be said for stability, as long as the functionality that it delivers is sufficient. I've fallen into the "I want something new" path myself many many times over the years, but the reality is that may doubleshot users use their devices for their jobs. Consider the phone a tool--how often are there major advances to hammers? What is more important is in the long-run, what can you do with the tool? If you are boored with the phone, start with android development, and come up with ideas on what YOU can do with it, and deliver to us applications that make us amazed. Android isn't an end-goal, it is a tool.
I just bought a Nexus 5 and I was wondering which is better: CM11 nightlies or just having rooted stock FW ..
Which one is faster? (bootup time, app launch times, smoothness)
And am I really missing any features when staying stock?
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46344624
It's really up to you to decide which is better. Cm will probably have more bugs than stock but maybe they're ok for you

I flashed just about everything and settled on stock. cm11, purity ROM, sanity, slim, you name it. Stock with xposed is great. On any custom ROM, I lost LTE and still don't know why. Gravitybox is just about the same as running a custom ROM, too.

I dont see much of a point in owning a nexus if you are just gonna throw Cyanogenmod on it.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I would probably stick with stock if I didn't require voice+ app by cyanogenmod. Until hangouts come with full Google voice number support sticking with CM11.
CM11 really isn't that buggy with current nightly, it's incredibly stable. Also the fact that it's a continuous work in progress is plus. You never know when stock gets updates.
Other than that I would use paranoid android when that comes out or pacman.

Or like any other Android phone. Almost every major Android phone has Cyanogenmod ported to it. I don't personally understand the appeal of buying a Nexus phone to then throw on the same custom rom that you could run on literally any other Android phone. I guess if you are off contract and absolutely love Cyanogenmod for some insane reason. . . . .
As said on a non nexus the cyanogen team really shine, to be honest I'm loving cataclysm ROM at the minute. Close to stock but has just enough customisations for me

You're talking about 2-3 days here. If that worried about it, go back to stock until CM updates. That's what I did for 4.4.3. I was already in bootloader flashing the new modem, so figured I'd just flash the rest.

I tried it for a day and it seemed very unstable and buggy. But so was Broken OS, and PureNexus. I don't know if it's my phone, or just the ROMs becoming more unstable than they were in February. I haven't found a DD yet.

Yeah :/ I had really high hopes. At times it seemed great. I wished there was a way to turn their theme from holo blue to red! I've been using black and red themes lately. I wish I could remember the specific issues I had with this one. I know Broken would be working fine, then just crash, and not power up again. Pure nexus only had 3/4 of the features working, and had all the notofication and scrolling lag that the CM ROMs have. Who knows. Could be my device.

I apologize, but I can't honestly remember now. I can't remember if that was the one that would have apps close on me, or open on me without any input, or why I used the word unstable and buggy. If I say something is unstable and buggy, it typically means I had significant issues, beyond the normal one or two things that just don't work. But I unfortunately cannot remember.
I would like to note however, I noticed that restoring my apps and data with TiBu seemed to be causing some of my issues with the ROMs from that timeframe. Because I flashed the same purenexus build twice, once with restoring apps and data, and once by reinstalling everything from the play store, and noticed a huge difference. Using TiBu was much buggier, on the very same build. So it might have been that.
Link??
Restoring system data with TB can cause all sorts of weird issues. I strictly use it to restore apps/data for everything else, but not system data.
Sometimes it helps to wipe internal storage too when moving from one rom type to another (ie, stock based to aosp).
I haven't tried tesla rom yet, but may give it a shot in the future.

Anyone know if anyone else is doing kernel development for the phone yet? I was thinking of trying to get in contact with the makers of EX Kernel or Franco to see if they would support it.
I know bad etiquette replying to my own thread but as an update, I've sent emails or DMs to both developers and just waiting to hear back with their responses.
I will make a custom kernel but I have note receive my razer phone yet...
If anyone wants to help me you can find the source code here

It's based off the latest code from razer all I've done it upstream the code to 4.4.111
I am getting build errors which I plan on fixing over the coming days etc and hopefully add anykernel support. If users want to help out let me know and I'll setup a github group so you don't need to issue pull requests etc.

Lets hope that they release the oreo kernel source on par with the release of oreo (and let's hope that they also release oreo factory images!!!).
Battery management on this phone kernel is not so great, on my old S8+, battery lasted for 1 day (I always had 15-20% before going to sleep). With this phone, even tho the battery is bigger, I barely get home with 5-10%.
