[Q] Sideloading FB error - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

this is probably a rookie question for most of you-- im trying to sideload and older version of FB (4.0.0.26.3 apk- pulled from my previous phone) and it gives me a "App not installed" error message after it attempts to install. I've tried sideloading v5 as well and got the same message. does anybody have a solution or explanation?
thanks in advance--

[Q] "There is a problem parsing the package"

How can I fix this?
I tried installing Modern Combat (Paid For) and as some one you know, you have to download an extra 300MB or so. It kept closing every time and was making me download 106MB over and over again. I decided to just download the app off a site, but when I opened the file to install the app it gave me that message "There is a problem parsing the package". I tried to download different apps, but i got the message again. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm running EagleBlood(GB Version) and the ROM that came with it.

[Solved] Google+ update : signature check failed

Hi,
An update to Google+ is available today, and does not appear in my "apps to update" list in the market.
When I go to the app page on the market, I can select "Update", but after downloading, I have an error message like "Package signature verification failed".
Does I have to install the update manually, or this is a device configuration issue? (I'm on stock ICS, CWM 5.0.2.3)
Thanks
Updated correctly here (stock 4.0.3)
My bad, i restored market link with Titanium, and everything went fine...

[Solved] Android 4.4.2 not working due to TelephonyProvider.apk

Hi,
I can't update to 4.4.2, because "TelephonyProvider.apk" has unexpected data. I'm not aware of any changes I did to it. Where can I download the 4.4.1 version? I found something here*, but it'll still not update to 4.4.2. Is there any other possibility of fixing this issue?
I use the Xposed Framework and AdAway, but deactivated both of them, rebooted and wiped the cache before trying to update.
Here is the whole message:
Code:
Installing: /sdcard/0/airdroid/upload/KitKat4.4.2.zip
Finding update package. . .
Opening update package. . .
Installing update. . .
Verifying current system. . .
" /system/app/TelephonyProvider.apk" has unexpected contents.
E: Error in /data/media/0/airdroid/upload/KitKat4.4.2.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Despite backing up TelephonyProvider.apk and TelephonyProvider.odex I can't use my N5 as a phone any more. The error message "Unfortunately, Phone has stopped." pops up every second or so. The only reason to avoid is is to enable Airplane mode. I copied the original files to /system/app using Root Browser, but it seems not to be recognized as installed. I can click on it and choose "Install". Anyways, after verifying the permissions it gets, there's a simple "App not installed." Sorry for being such a noob
I found it in this post. Now everything works just fine again

[Completed] App not installed. An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature

I have installed an apk file previously and now intend to install another updated apk file to my android phone. However the installation of the new apk file failed with message "an existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed".
I had tried to uninstall the first apk and then install the new apk file but the installation failed with the same message appeared. My phone is not rooted. Is there any way to rectify the error ?
Thank you in advance.

I found another user who could fix a similar issue with YouTube.apk: [Q] Installing the new YouTube V5 apk Issues (task's AOKP).
Maybe it works for you too.
Alternatively you can check if the un-installed (first) app is really completely uninstalled. Maybe it's a system app which still has some left-overs in another folder and is just "de-activated" or "disabled".
However, completely uninstalling of system apps requires root access.
If you still have issues and you can't contact the app/update dev for help, you can post your questions in the Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.

[HELP] App Facebook, error -11

Hi guys, I'm trying to install (again) the facebook app, but always appear "error -11" and the installation is aborted. In the google guide does not appear this kind of error, but I've tried the same to follow the guide's rules. Obviously, I've cancel and downloaded the app many many times, but always appear the same error.
How can I solve it? Is a fb's problem or a device's problem?
Thank you
