I have single sim version - HTC One E8

I have single sim version, do you have custom roms for this one?
How about cases? Where you be able to buy? Thanks

Same question

many sites (e.g. alibaba.com) sell cases for HTC One E8

looking for single sim rom as well!

I was ready to switch from M8 to E8 one sim edition but no roms and mods are a no-go for me.
If only Viper rom was ported...

Dual-Sim SmartPhones - Can it be done on Android?

Hi all,
I currently own a Blackstone and its been pretty good to me over the past year or so. However I have two numbers and I have to carry two phones around with me. I have been looking into dual sim for a couple of days now and all i can seem to find is either dodgy Chinese copies or really old Samsungs.
In the USA a company called General Mobile have made an android phone with dual sim the kernel for it is below:
http://www.generalmobile.com/index.a...evelopercenter
Do you think there are guys out there who would be able to get this to work on a HTC Hero, for instance, with a dual sim adaptor? Or does the phone have to have two antennae?
Are any of you guys aware of any dual sim smartphones coming out?
Thanks for your help, Serg

[Q] ROMs for the international XL?

Hi all,
I'm looking at getting either a One X or One XL, and one thing I'm not sure about with the latter is if ROMs for the AT&T "X" are usable on the international XL. The difference being the AT&T one has 16 GB and the international version (which AFIK Australia and SE Asia gets) has 32 GB.
I should also mention I'm new to ROMs as well - I never bothered with my previous Android phone, figuring I'd play around with that once I got a new one. Wouldn't want to brick the only phone I had.
Also, are stock ROMs from HTC available? Where would we find them? A local user (Singapore) has gotten his phone, and posted on a local tech forum that there's bloatware from all our local telcos on it, not just the one he was using. Figure I might want to ease myself into this by starting with a stock ROM.
Different phones. Please dont cross flash on your phone or you will have a brick. Choose your phone and look at the appropriate forum
I believe all S4 based One X's are compatible with the development going on in this forum.
The only phones compatible with these forums are the following:
AT&T One X
Rogers One XL
Telstra One XL
International One XL
You will probably see more AT&T RUUs here as that is what the majority of the users are using here.
And the ROMs work on any version, but Radios and APN (access point names) you may have to set up yourself (if the ROM says so)

Thanks. Does HTC make the stock RUU(?) available for their phones? I've been looking but haven't found it yet.

tnx bro
what about roms? which one is better? motorola or google play version?
generally nexsus are more better.cuse better support .but i dont know motorola
which one have better support for updates and what difference did you seen in motorola rom and google ?
Currently most ROMs only support single SIM variants with very limited support to dual sim devices or none at all, but this can change later.
The moto g runs stock android. Its not a custom skinned rom like HTC and Samsung like to do. So really, the only difference is the GPE doesn't have the 3 Motorola apps (migrate, help, and the better moto camera app). Also, the GPE will get updates a couple months before.
My suggestion is get the normal moto g because of the camera app is better. Though, really in day to day use, you'll never notice if its the normal one or the play edition.

3 actually usefull apps and also Regular Moto G has an F2fs file system which was first used in moto x and promises faster random data reads ( faster read performances )
And about the updates....You can be sure that as soon as Moto G gpe would get any s/w update...it will be ported soon enough to regular one too

>Dual vs Single: Dual SIM
Why?
Because you will have space for one extra SIM if some day you need it, no harm in having two slots while if you have only one you might need to buy a new phone just for an extra SIM.
>Google Play vs Moto Version: Google Play
Why?
You will get unlocked Boot loader with warranty which you loose out in Moto Version in case you unlock your Boot loader.
Its like they unlock the boot loader for you with the warranty intact.
This will allow you to play with different ROMs without loosing out your warranty.
For software support, Google ROM support will always be better than Motorola any day.
Further, in case of Hardware issues you shall be contacting Motorola in both cases so you aren't loosing out nothing
by buying a Google play edition.
Verdict: Dual SIM Google Play Edition :good:
Edit: as mentioned by @jaspreet997
Such phone is not available and also I have checked up the same.
So then opt for Simple SIM GPE untill and unless a dual SIM is very very important to you.
Are there any dual sim gpe being sold anywhere? I think not
tanx again
generally single sims have better development(i dont know about motorola).if its true on motorola.its more important than one sim more
in my country motorola havent eny office and the waranty isnt meaning here!
i think moto version will get updates as soon as the GPE got
so the motorola one sim looks better
thank you all

Reading this I again realized how different we people are. Because I would vote for a single sim regular phone instead.
- Why single sim? Because of the fact there are much more roms supporting only the single sim variant. Of course there will be dual sim roms, but when? I dont know? If in a month, then thats good. If in six months, thats bad ... many of us dont usually keep devices like this more than a year and being without flashing half of the time - nope, thanks!
- Why regular? I like what (little) Ive heard abou F2FS. And I dont care about warranty - I already have no warranty for my phone because I screwed up the purchase ... but thats another story
So, my advice - unless you need dual sim (or are going to need it soon), get regular single-sim.
Or not, it doesnt really matter lol ...

Good points.
Regarding f2fs, how hard can it be to format a partition? I'm actually wondering the answer to this, as I have the GPE and it seems CM11 for the Moto G just went official. But like you said, it looks like the GPE and the dual-sim owners will have to wait longer.

Interest in E8

Hi I have been on the fence on getting a m8 because of camera and price. Now I saw the e8 and want to purchase one. My concern is I have t mobile in the states but the phone is not meant for here. I wanted to know it has all the bands to use for t mobile also would I be able to use m8 rom and kernel for e8 to get the t mobile WiFi calling

You cannot use m8 ROM or kernal directley on the E8 - it is different hardware.
If the tmobile wiki is right you should be able to connect 2G @ 850Mhz band and 3G & 4G possibly @ 2100mhz band, but you better double check with t-mobile to be safe.

can anyone tell me does htc one e8 support mhl?
I have an M8 and wonder if I dont switch to E8 mainly because of super limited camera and easy scratchable back paint (even with cover).
Though some things need answers:
-Will the dot view cover of my M8 work with E8?
-Will some big names of htc dev scene promised roms or ports from M8

If you get the one with matte finish, you won't have to worry about scratches. (grey or blue)
No dot view of M8 won't work, both phones have different size.
Development scene can only be seen once the device is available in the market.

XZ or XZ dual?

Hello,
Im thinking to get a black Sony XZ either this or next month, the dual version is available with lower price from ebay, while amazon sells with ~US 700 (black color is 630, but no version specified)
but its odd that the dual version 1st came available on ebay (with reasonable price) prior to the single SIM, so in case i miss any details from the spec, are they 2 different phones or they sharing the same firmware except the SIM trays?
is it true that on most cases, the regular version would receive more dev supports than the dual? thank you.
The dual sim version is 64GB while the single sim is 32GB. The USA single sim does not have finger print. All other versions have finger print. I currently have the dual sim version from ebay. It was shipped from Singapore.
I also went for the dual sim version. Firstly because I wanted a dual sim phone and secondly because of the 64gb. I think/hope the dev support will work out fine. At the moment that seems to be developing quite well
wouldn't the dual cause more bugs when developing roms?
another question, if a ROM developer owns a regular version , can he easily dev. another for dual?
I got the dual version for the 64gb storage.
2nd sim is a bonus.
Still waiting for someone to do a dual sim plus microsd hack

Not really, if a developer produces a rom on a regular version, it can be easily patched to a dual sim version.
Simply, You'll just have to flash an extra patch after flashing a custom rom for the XZ Dual.
Also, when developers like @AndroPlus have the dual version, I don't think you need to worry about anything

thanks, it's just that sony devices start from Z5 (which i previously owned) dont seem to have much supports , by this time there are still very limited non-sony based custom ROM being made, if we talking about bug free that's gonna even nail down to only 2~3 roms from the same developer, which is the reason why i sold it last month. But anyway, i still like XZ's design and gonna wait few weeks more to see which version has cheaper price.
A quick question as a future XZ dual owner : how is the battery life? Does it make through a day of mid to heavy usage? Dual sim has any effect on that? Thanks in advance.
