When I had my adp1 we had advanced launcher which gave me the ability to hide certain apps so they wouldn't show up in the drawer. I hate having font packs and the like appear in my app drawer. I also hate having redundant apps (desktop shortcut plus being in the app drawer)
Is there anything like advanced launcher out there for sense?
I remove the apk's from /system/apps. That will completely remove the app from your phone (so don't do it to apps you want to keep on your home screen) but seems to work well for sprint/htc's crapware.
You can hide them in LauncherPro.

Ill probably get flamed for this, but I'm partial to the sense launcher. I don't much care for the aftermarket launchers. In afraid though, that I'm bit going to have a choice

Sorry for the diversion
What software were you running on your adp?
I wonder if there's anything in the engineering pc36img.zip that would help..
Advanced Launcher was Sense?

On my adp1 it was typically an add on that required you to flash it over your rom or theme.
Just wondering, but why do you like Rosie more than LaucherPro? Please don't say "widgets" because there are equivalent widgets in LauncherPro Plus that are idential to those by HTC, and there are a ton in the Market with identical functionality.
I honestly like the way sense looks.
Please try let me whats works, what doesn't, what you think is missing, or what I should remove. I'm open to suggestions.

I guess I'm not surprised this is so unpopular, because it's pretty much a cm-nightly... but we all appreciate any extra work and time spent for the benefit of the community. I grabbed it because it has gapps and gmaps already

Thanks for checking it out. I'm just getting started cooking, trying to figure things out. I know this is pretty simple, but I figured I'd make it available anyway for everybody who likes to keep it simple. I thought about making it market and gmail only, since market auto-downloads what you had installed anyway, but I figured that would just be too simple.
It looks like there is a lot of information available in the Chef Central forum, and everywhere else. Hopefully as I learn more about this, it will turn into something more interesting.

I'd remove that attachment if i were u. It's been removed from the market due to legal conflicts with Htc. Hence no mod would like to see that

It got removed because HTC didn't want people using what are essentially stolen parts of their UI on non-Sense devices. I don't see any mods removing ROMs containing Sense in their entirety. Removing it for that reason would be highly contradictory.
I'm also not using this, considering nightlies can be found here updated daily and the 'modifications' can be achieved by bashing a couple of commands in to the terminal.

It's different though. Htc hasn't complained or issued any cease/desist letters for htc sense roms, but has for paid apps that are very similar in ui to their proprietary apps. Refer to xda mods taking action here.

I didn't think there would be a problem since it wasn't a paid app and I have seen this in other roms. Maybe I'll remove it in my next version. Thanks for the heads up.
I have removed the links for now, until I get further clarification about including the Fancy Widget.
I've been searching all day, and I can't get a working copy of the Froyo HTC_IME APK.
Does anyone have it, or have the ability to rip it? I really wish I didn't have to request it here but I've exhausted all my attempts here to find it.
Help would be really appreciated. I'm currently running Damage Control 3.5 which didn't get official Froyo Sense keyboard. The mod does not have arrows, which is necessary for EVO users.
-EDIT: If anyone knows how to rip it from a ROM, that information can help as well, as long as it's not too difficult. I can have a friend attempt to do that.
Here you go.
Y'all check this out!

I dunno how many of you use HTC_IME_hiRes version but this is a pretty sweet kitchen that themes it up in almost any way you want!
Awesome! Thanks major to the creator, gIMpSTa. And thanks to jonasl for the mod.
Yea the kitchen is convenient. Only thing is the XDA HTC_IME mod doesn't have multitouch or arrows like the official HTC one which is what he wants.

Thanks. For some reason, however, it says "Application Not Installed". Any reasons as to why this is happening?
Again, I'm running DamageControl 3.5.
I did, while waiting for a reply, find a backup made by Titanium that includes the keyboard as system data. I could not run a restore for it though. It feels like I just will never get that keyboard back unless I flash a new ROM.
So, out of the options below, what's my best move?
1. Troubleshoot the installation error.
2. Troubleshoot Titanium
3. Flash a different ROM
This might seem like too much for a single keyboard, but you don't know how much I miss those arrows...

I wish I had my comp, and I'd just post the apk.
Anyways dude, the froyo keyboard is nice, so I could see why you want it. I've tried swype, and just plain deleted that gimpsta crap after like an hour (its nice for people who can't theme, but just ugly compared to a themes froyo).
To rip the apk, just download a stock Rom, open the zip, and it should be in system/app/. From there, u have to adb push it to the system/app/ folder of your own.phone.
Another alternative would be downloading a stock Rom n deleting literally everything in the zip minus the HTC_IME and flashing it.

Lol, look at my keyboard on my theme. You can mod the jell outta the stock, it just takes effort, looks sexy and you still have the features that the generic Gimp keyboard is missing.

Hey! I'm not really sure whats up with that. I am downloading DC right now to see whats inside. I made a new flashable. Maybe it will work. Before you flash it i would remove any extra keyboards you may have installed. Then also look in your /system/app/ folder and see if there are multiple copies of htc_ime.apk. there really should be only one. lastly, i would go to >settings>applications>manage>all>TouchInput>Clear defaults(dunno if you can do this) but maybe clear data. Then reboot recovery and flash this file. Maybe it wasnt working because it needed the clicker.apk as well.
Hope something works for ya. These files are from fresh so maybe that is why they don't work. ???
Has anyone figured out how to get this keyboard to work on cyanogen?
What exactly is the clicker?
I just ripped the APK from my Stock Froyo install for HTC_IME.apk, which should be the right keyboard. I have the clicker installed from that other HTC_IME Mod apk that's been around for a while, but that's not the multitouch version and doesn't have the arrow keys.
I'm going to see if the same hacks the guy who hacked the first one will work on this new APK. But I can't play around with it yet.
Check out APKtool to decompile the APK and look at the source for the other HTC_IME mod to kind of see what he did.
I too would like to use it in my CM install.
the clicker is what allows you to calibrate/recalibrate the touch input
Did anyone get the 2.2 keyboard running in AOSP roms yet?

OMFG ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Months... months i tell you i have been using android. hero then evo. And i just now realize you can use the volume keys as arrows thanks to you. I have learned how to theme, i have learned how to customize stock ota's into custom rom's for myself, i have learned how to compile kernels from source by dual booting into my linux build. I have learned so many things... and yet, just figured this out.... sometimes i wonder about myself and my sanity,.
on topic now, i think the touch input keyboard requires more than one apk to be installed, or an apk and a library.
Hello All,
Just a quick question... can the mini apps at the bottom be changed to use other apps? I called Sammy tech support and they said I'd have to check w/Google since it's built into the ICS OS. I find this odd because I've checked other tabs at Worst (Best) Buy and they didn't have this mini-app tray.
I want to use other apps in its place. I wonder why when you view the mini apps you'll see an "edit" icon, however, when you click on it, everything is greyed out so you cannot edit or switch-out the mini-apps.
Thanks!

I don't have it in front of me, but I believe that lets you add and remove the existing quick apps. Also, it probably isn't out of the realm of possibility that someone could develop a quick app and it would appear, but I bet there isn't a whole bunch of people building these quick apps.

Mini Apps is built into the status bar, not the launcher. it will always be there.
Hate it...i wish i could get rid of the miniapps, sometimes it pressed accidentally and bug my gaming time
If Olny some1 develope mini app for the notes that would be great for ppl who read and like to write quick notes, If Only....
install gmd gesturecontrol to hide the status bar
You wont press any mini apps accidently then. Also when you press edit you double click on a mini app to add/remove it.
You can remove them, they annoyed me so I got rid by following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692173
Obviously make a back-up before deleting the suggested files if you feel you may want thm back at some point (not that I did )!

Thanks. Well there are some other functions that come with HTC Sense Facebook. For example integration with a calendar or some other things, that can be integrated with system apps. I miss them somehow, so that's why I'm asking for apks and frameworks. I thought that'll do it by myself not bothering anyone, but wasn't expecting, that someone will make a flashable zip. Good, somebody else can use it later.
(Thanks for heading me here. I'm dumb and haven't thought about asking it here. )
