When I had my adp1 we had advanced launcher which gave me the ability to hide certain apps so they wouldn't show up in the drawer. I hate having font packs and the like appear in my app drawer. I also hate having redundant apps (desktop shortcut plus being in the app drawer)
Is there anything like advanced launcher out there for sense?
I remove the apk's from /system/apps. That will completely remove the app from your phone (so don't do it to apps you want to keep on your home screen) but seems to work well for sprint/htc's crapware.
You can hide them in LauncherPro.

Ill probably get flamed for this, but I'm partial to the sense launcher. I don't much care for the aftermarket launchers. In afraid though, that I'm bit going to have a choice

This is a start, but I would still like to see this integrated into the sense launcher.

Sorry for the diversion
What software were you running on your adp?
I wonder if there's anything in the engineering pc36img.zip that would help..
Advanced Launcher was Sense?

On my adp1 it was typically an add on that required you to flash it over your rom or theme.
Just wondering, but why do you like Rosie more than LaucherPro? Please don't say "widgets" because there are equivalent widgets in LauncherPro Plus that are idential to those by HTC, and there are a ton in the Market with identical functionality.
I honestly like the way sense looks.

Haven't used this yet but would like to know too, I'm looking for something new to put on my nexus, and until Modaco updates his ROM, i'm looking to see what I can get my hands on in the meantime.

It's basically stock, but you can change the number of screens you have, and it has a preview feature [double tap the screen and it will show previews of your home screens.] There's also a dock next to the app tray, you can have four icons next to it.

Coming from a G1, I just couldn't get used to N1's lack of the hardware "Phone" button. Helix Launcher2 solves this with its dock.

Gotta side with you on this one. Nothing beats the built in task killer. I prefer not to have a separate program for that.
I've been a die hard home++ user and just pushed helix for the first time tonight. I use app control for my task control, as I kind of think that home++ does a shoddy job. Anyway, Helix is great and I love the fact that I can still hide the taskbar; however, there's 1 thing that puts Home++ above it. . . and that's a button to bring down said task bar. It's great to be able to hide it, but what about when I want to look at notifications that are coming in? Home++ allows for this. It's the 1 thing holding me back.
cyanogen w/GDE home
extended home
i use extended home. it supports up to 10 home screens and customizable submenus. i tried the helix and home++ launchers not bad but helix uses to much memory (9.5 MB) and home++ is to slow and wallpapers don't snap to the screen your on.
HelixLauncher 1.3BETA2
got to go with home++. scrolling through screens is ultra smooth and having the bottom scrollable dock is cool. plus it saves screen real estate that the phone, browser, silent and vibrate widgets would usually take up.

I have discovered last night Zeam.
Faster than anything i have tried so far. Has 9 screens, 3 launcher button, nice screen previews. I have all 9 screens loaded with widgets and is running faster than any other home.
After i tried it, got rid of helix and Panda.
Give it a try at it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=664149

Thanks for the suggestion. Zeam is very fast.
I tried Helix, Home++, and Android Mate (which I really like for a simplistic approach), but Zeam has a smaller footprint and is very fast.
In stock launcher...how do you change the apps in the dock?
Thanks
I dont think you can, which is why im now trialing launcher pro and adw. Think im preferring launcher pro ATM, as the scrolling is buttery smooth
Launcher pro runs fastest of all I think once adjusting....the speeds in.preferences.
The Note Widgets are sweet tho!

I think you misinterpreted him. He meant a launcher where icons weren't locked to grid. Being able to "freely" resize widgets only resizes them to a grid...

Oh. SPB or TSF shell does that. Not sure which one I tried. Uninstalled it because of that, actually, as it didn't allow me to lock icons to a grid.
Both cost a fortune tho, but since you didn't specify you wanted free apps (or cheap ones) I thought I should mention them.
I repeat: one of them does that. I don't know if both do it. Just check which before spending your money.

I just figured out I can make folders on my gsll phone in the app menu. (Not the home screens) I can put all the carrier BS and other app icons I don't want to see in there. It brought my app screens to 3 swipes from 5. Is that a standard Android feature or something Samsung added in with touchwiz? I would be interested in doing the same on my tablet.
That sounds like a Samsung Touchwiz feature. As far as I know, stock app drawer does not support folders/dedicated pages.
However, you can simply get a non-stock launcher such as Apex or Nova and they support app drawer folders, plus a multitude of extra features lacking in the stock launcher

I've been curious about this as well for a while. Although, I assume if the widgets are installed as part of an app, then the answer would be "no". For example, IP Cam Viewer comes with like 6 different widgets with different sizes and layouts. I'll never use any of them, but I don't think I can uninstall them without uninstalling the app altogether. Can somebody please let me know if I'm mistaken?

@nihn75, @simms22, @charesa39 Actually, you can delete them. Use Autostarts to disable whichever widgets you don't want and they will disappear from the drawer and homescreen long-press list.

Some widgets don't have separate receivers. You can't get rid of all of them, but most of them you can.
