[BootAnimation] Android 5.0 "L" Boot & Shutdown Animation <<Updated>> 7/27/14
Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk 2

Here are the ones that I use:
Boot animation Android L from the above link: https://mega.co.nz/#!slBRQQIY!NHPcjfkzEgQb5H4UQQiuHdWN7RfeKktHribNCxb23iA
Shutdown animation from the international variant:
https://mega.co.nz/#!g1ZmkaQQ!V-FSlxpnWRc50t9JSiEhwYQykt9Mmpb8fitiDMVq2tY
Set permissions to rw-r-r-T
The T is "sticky"
Backup your old animations or remane them from .zip to .bk (back)
Also I'm not responsible for any problems these may cause your phone liability stuff etc...
I didn't make any of then but that are both great.

I'm not familiar with the T... why use it? what does it do? I replaced my boot/shutdown without this setting and they seem to work fine

The T basically makes sure the animation isn't cut short by the system. It would happen to me so the I.E. T let's it run the full animation rather before loading your homescreen. It is better described in the link above me that the OP posted.

I'm on Sprint variant ls990 and the T has no effect on my system. Everyone else says it forces the animation to play until it's completed but Ive tested it multiple times in different ways, with different animations and no dice for me. Currently my bootanimation plays to completion but is just 644, no sticky. What always works for me is how the desc.txt of the bootanimation itself is handled.
What I mean is if the desc.txt has a "p" before the loop/part line, it plays until the system boots.
If it has a "c" before the loop/part line, it plays to completion.
Maybe it's just Sprint but T/Sticky doesn't affect it at all for me and I can't figure it out. The desc.txt dictates how its played and if it will continue to play even after the system has loaded.

1644 is the same as rw-r-r-T.

[HOW-TO] Fix Your Laggy Boot Animation

edit: I made this post literally hours before IMNUTS posted his new kernal, with that new kernel you actually CAN change your boot animation. This method still fixes your laggy boot animation though. As always, if you found this post at all helpful just click the thanks button!
In case you're wondering, it's not the ROM or even Voodoo causing the boot animation to become so choppy, it's the kernel. Check IMNUTS' post on his PBJ kernels and you'll see it's a known bug and he's working hard to fix it.
So anyway, to fix your boot animation just follow the guide below. It's a very simple process so don't worry :]
1) Go to the Android Market and download a boot animation changer. I would recommend 'Boot Animation Changer LITE'. It's free and incredibly simple to use.
2) Next, open BAC Lite that we just downloaded and select 'Change Animation'.
3) Finally, choose any of the boot animations and hit the 'Download and Change' button.
That's it!
Dude that freaking worked! I had tried to change my boot animation before, but I never noticed it actually fixed the choppiness! Thanx man!!!

Glad to help!
made it a little better, mine is still a tad bit laggy and the "DROID" voice sounds funny... but its noticably better thanks for the info

No problem I noticed it wasn't flawless and still just slightly slow but the stock animation wasn't fast either, the stock seemed like it was running at 6-10fps
Much better thanks!
Eclipse 1.3
Edit: According to Kejar on twitter we have custom boot animation for the CHARGE now!
Can't wait for that release
Didn't work for me. :\
My boot animation was full 480 x 800. I downloaded the R2D2 animation as a test and it runs MUCH better than mine.....SOOOO I will reduce the height and width of my images to the smaller height and width of the R2D2 and see if that works.
Of course the desc coding stays at 480 x 800. I guess it's easier on the system.
I would recommend just upgrading to the 7/30 pbj kernel. It's a simple flash in clockwork, allows you to actually change the boot animation and fix the lag.

Ok....that's what I have. Is there a setting to fix the lag?

there is no fix for the choppy stock droid eye boot animation, even on imnuts' new kernel... what you can do is put your own in place of it or download 'boot animation changer' from the market which when used will kinda even out the stock one
blazing through on my VZ Droid Charge 4G
I would like to know how or what the BAC app does to smooth out the stock boot animation?
I'm not sure at all, all I know is it fixes those choppy animations. It still runs a little slow but the stock boot animation ran just as slow.
Sadly it didn't work for me.
You sure you followed the directions correctly? If so, what is your current setup? kernel/ROM mainly.

That's it! Your boot animation will stay the same(the kernel doesn't actually allow you to change your boot animation... YET!) but the lag will now be evened out.

Boot animation with sound

How do I put music on a bootanimation? When I boot using miui revenge, it plays a noise, but I wanna change it
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
on BML ROMs you just need to replace :
system\etc\PowerOn.wav
to change the boot sound.
I suppose it's the same with MTD ROMs.
and if you wish to change bootanimation (system\media\bootanimation.zip)
you just need a set of images (PNG/JPG), a batch script and have them compressed "STORAGE" method.
Take a sample and change it yourself.
Let me know if you need any help.
Two questions, how do I replace it, what do I replace it with. I wanna put party of a song, but do I need to change how long the song is?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
well if you put the whole song it'll play the whole song. I say you download and use audacity. It's free, google it.
Open the song in audacity, and trim it. Export it as wav then use aroma filemanager to push it to where itzik2sh told you to put the wav file.
I'm not gonna teach you how to do the audacity things. You'll remember better if you google it and read into how to do it. It's not that hard.
For miui it's bootaudio.mp3 its in /system/media/
sent from my batcave
If you go to customize in the miui theme manager you can select any sound you want it will easily import files you have in your sdcard.just go to boot sound then press menu and select import.

Thanks for the help guys! Just got a bit of a song to play
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
The problem though is that it only plays for a second. The boot animation still goes for a few more seconds, but the song doesn't play until after the team acid logo. Can i make it play during the team acid logo?

No. That is not easily changed by the user like boot sounds and animations. Even if you modified the process it would restart when the boot animation was triggered.
No you can't, they logo is part of the bootloader. It won't access the audio until the boot animation starts

Ok i guess I'll use a regular tone then, thanks though

Do you guys know how to make the bout animation go faster? It lags a lot in the beginning, then is normal for a second. I wanna make it go smoothly

The quality of jpgs uses, the actual boot process itself and other things have effect on the boot animation. A phone that has little stuff to start will be smoother than a phone that has tons of scripts that need to run during boot.
I see, so there's nothing i can do to make it faster
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
I cant honestly say no. But typically optimizing the boot process is so it doesnt lag the boot animation is not a priority. Im sure somebody will chime in if they know how to make it smoother.
We can always make the boot process do less things at a time so that you get a smooth boot animation making your phone take 90 seconds to start or you can have a laggy boot animation and have your phone boot in 20 seconds
Sent from my SGH-T959V
Try increasing the speed of the photos in the bootanimation.zip

No boot audio in newer miui?
Hmmm... did not notice since it does not really matter much, but no boot audio in post-revenge miui roms, erikmm's or dao's?

Boot Screen Animation Question

ok i haven't posted in a while but have recently been toying around with my phone again and i recently came across a boot animation i really want on my hero. i know a lot of people have moved on to bigger and better phones but i still use my hero every day i <3 the little phone.
Here's a link to the video of it. i tried changing the numbers in the DESC.txt file to change the resolution to fit the hero but i just get a blank screen then it loads on up. so what am i doing wrong? from what i understand that should be all i need to do to make it fit and work, or is it a bit more involved than that? is there something else that needs to be done like changing the resolution of every part file?

[APP][ROOT]Change system animations [FRAMEWORK TOOL]

Yup guys you can change your system animations:thumbup: via this app u am not the developer I just support this app and would like to share this one with you guys
Description:
This app will make Theming your phone as easy as tapping on a button. The concept is easy:
You tap the MOD you want, and Framework Tool will apply it for you. Currently there are about 40 functions, such as animations, dialogs, backgrounds and other aspects of your phones or tablets system, but it is in beta state, and more will be added in the next hours, days, weeks, months. Now it is your turn! Take control of your phone and make it fit to your mood and style, use hot features as the possibility to use your own backgrounds (in the Settings application as an example) for the system (3.0+), with just a few taps, and no computer required! This application needs ROOT ACCESS and R/W on /system ! This App can now run on versions below 4.0, BUT all modifications are designed for Android 4.0, so they may not work as intended on versions below that!
Warning: Framework Tool does change framework files which may not be compatible on some ROMs or devices. Always make a backup before installing and use at your own risk.
Here's the Link

Please press thanks if I helped you

No it just changes system animations it must have happened if you have chosen a heavy animation on a mid end device
Well I don't think the Gnex is a mid end device... And the only change I made is activity switching to ios sliding.

Bad luck then try applying animations again or instead try a reboot I have always used it on a fresh flash so it was never the case for me
I advice you to use it on a new flash...
You can also set the speed for animations using Framework Tool, in case you they are to slow for you. On start screen open menu and then you will see.
Thanks for yor responses guys.
I don't mean the animation is slow, I mean it takes a lot of time (3 or 4 seconds) to start the animation. Once started, it goes smooth.
This happens only sometimes. I'm trying to figure if this issue is ROM related (pa 3.1). I'm going back to aokp and try again.
Thanks!!

Technically, android waits for the app you touched to draw the first image, then animates to it.
Another thing: You are on Android 4.2 right? Then the changes Framework Tool applies to the framework (in the aspect of app start animation) are "ignored".
The only impact on performance is if you change the "standard background", if it is very high-res, if will definatly have an impact on performance.
Sincerely,
Janis Elfert (dev of Framework Tool)
PS: As always, if you like my app, make sure to rate it!

If you haven't already, leave a nice rating at the Play Store. It would be very nice, cause it's rating will jump to 4.00 then !
It works most of time for me.

My Boot Animations

In this thread I will post my attempts at Boot animations. Some I have seen before but I didn't like how they were So i reworked them to my liking.
I will not take credit for the ones previously created by someone else, but I will take credit for my mods.
All Animations created with Boot Animation Factory by D01 MicroApps v 1.3.0.0
Photo Editing done on Fotoflexer.com and MS Picture Manager
Please Leave Comments! Enjoy.

This booanimation is not new. But I could never get it to work on my GS4G. I now know how to mess with them more, so here is my contribution.
Tested..............05/04/2013
Resolution.........480x662
FPS..................7
Credit for Original images to UNKNOWN.... I could figure out who originally created this.
CM10 bootanimation
This one was also created by someone else, but I didn't like how small the animation was. I made it as big as I could and it looks great.
Tested..........05/01/2013
Resolution.....480x480
FPS..............24
Digital Noise bootanimation
This bootanimation I created from a video found on Shutterstock.com, unfortunately it has a Watermark because their videos cost way too much to get without it.
Basically digital noise or static on video line. Looks neat during boot-up. Might make people think phone is messed up.
Tested..........05/04/2013
Resolution.....480x698
FPS..............25
Click on image below to see animation before download. Actual resolution is much better
