In this thread I will post my attempts at Boot animations. Some I have seen before but I didn't like how they were So i reworked them to my liking.
I will not take credit for the ones previously created by someone else, but I will take credit for my mods.

This booanimation is not new. But I could never get it to work on my GS4G. I now know how to mess with them more, so here is my contribution.
Tested..............05/04/2013
Resolution.........480x662
FPS..................7
Credit for Original images to UNKNOWN.... I could figure out who originally created this.
CM10 bootanimation
This one was also created by someone else, but I didn't like how small the animation was. I made it as big as I could and it looks great.
Tested..........05/01/2013
Resolution.....480x480
FPS..............24
Digital Noise bootanimation
This bootanimation I created from a video found on Shutterstock.com, unfortunately it has a Watermark because their videos cost way too much to get without it.
Basically digital noise or static on video line. Looks neat during boot-up. Might make people think phone is messed up.
Tested..........05/04/2013
Resolution.....480x698
FPS..............25
Click on image below to see animation before download. Actual resolution is much better

if someone makes one add the droid and minions dancing together. disco like in the movie.
this would be so sick!
Ive been searching for a Minion boot animation as well. I already have the minion laugh as my ringtone. it would be great to run the ringtone in combination w the animation tho.
wish i had the knowledge to just thro this all together quickly myself. unfortunately it would probably take me 2 wks at 6hrs/day to learn how to crop video, edit images and code this all together
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9628638/Minions_Bootanimation.zip try this i made and pseudoremora tweaked it up. you know the drill not my fault if you brick it.
put on sdcard, wipe cache and dalvik(i do 3x to make sure) flash zip and reboot and enjoy
Can a bootanimation realy brick ur phone
Dont really know have not seen it myself but I and most people on here put that just incase something were to happen. Really means you take responsiblity for any mod, theme or rom that you choose to use. Cause a bad download even if the guy next to downloaded and installed the samething no problem may cause you problems that may take a lot of work to fix.

I no longer have an evo and do not actively check any threads i have created for the evo in the past, if you have a question and I do no answer in a timely manner please send me a private message and I'll do my best to help you out.
Heres a boot animation that I found, it's the transformers decepticon logo and digital rain looping, with transformers audio. I don't know who made the original animation to thank them but if someone knows please let me know so I can give them proper credit.
to use this open terminal and type
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/customize/resource
adb push SPC_final_animation.mp3 /system/customize/resource
Thanks guys, I'm still trying to make a better animation using screen caps from the movie but it's already 3:30 am and my wife is gonna kill me if I do this all night
SPC_final_animation.mp3
bootanimation.zip This is the new resized one it fills the screen properly.
By the way, if theres any problems I'm sorry I'm kind of tired
hey man. nice work. saw this a long time ago, and have been searching for it since. love it. thanks for the contribution.
if you want, i can whip this up into a flashable zip for the peepz
That would make it extremely more convenient, I haven't had time to create a flashable zip

Thanks man, pretty quick for someone thats in 8th grade, I wish I could do any of this when I was that young.

you need to resize both the actual .png files (yes, each one individually) and the desc.txt must be modified to support that resolution you resized to.

Ok I found the problem, the call outs in the base desc file were incorrect, I'll have to change it when I get home and am on my laptop, for some reason the set up is for 320x480 I have no idea how that happened but I will have it changed it'll probably be about 3 hours or so though.
I was waiting for someone to do this! Are the zips flashable through recovery, or do I replace the existing bootanimation file with this one?
Ok I fixed the problem, I'm uploading the new one now it will be in the original post.
Rob the zips I uploaded must be pushed through ADB
DK's are the flashable zips
i'll update my flashables with the new boot.zip probably later tonight.
Alternate sound
Here is the audio I have been using with this for a while.
Personally, I love my Droid Charge, and I would love to have an upscaled version of its stock animation and sound as my bootup for the xformer.
If someone far more creative than I could create such a thing, I think it would be awesome... Or even better, a bootanimation that features all of the Droid eyes in sequence, fading from one to another, left to right...

Yeah, I just thought of that last pat on the fly... I don't have the dedication to do it, but I know others would appreciate it.

Yes... but seeing as how there is no sound right now when it boots that would be a bit of a project.
Getting bootsounds is ROM related, so you may get the animation (probably a little blurry/pixelated) but the sound would probably have to be edited by the developer of whatever ROM you are on (assuming you are not on stock).
Don't mean to rain on the parade, I would love a bootsound option and it would be cool to see more bootanimations floating around, just want to let you know, sound will probably be difficult.
Rip the bootanimation.zip from /system/media and upload it here.
might be a start....

samsung uses a propriety .ogg format if I'm correct for bootanimation and sound packaged together
I'm sure you can find the boot animation of the Droid Charge; but you won't be able to get sound
Ogg will be the sound container the animation will be bootanimation.zip

ok i haven't posted in a while but have recently been toying around with my phone again and i recently came across a boot animation i really want on my hero. i know a lot of people have moved on to bigger and better phones but i still use my hero every day i <3 the little phone.
Here's a link to the video of it. i tried changing the numbers in the DESC.txt file to change the resolution to fit the hero but i just get a blank screen then it loads on up. so what am i doing wrong? from what i understand that should be all i need to do to make it fit and work, or is it a bit more involved than that? is there something else that needs to be done like changing the resolution of every part file?

[BootAnimation] Android 5.0 "L" Boot & Shutdown Animation <<Updated>> 7/27/14
Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk 2
Here are the ones that I use:
Boot animation Android L from the above link: https://mega.co.nz/#!slBRQQIY!NHPcjfkzEgQb5H4UQQiuHdWN7RfeKktHribNCxb23iA
Shutdown animation from the international variant:
https://mega.co.nz/#!g1ZmkaQQ!V-FSlxpnWRc50t9JSiEhwYQykt9Mmpb8fitiDMVq2tY
Set permissions to rw-r-r-T
The T is "sticky"
Backup your old animations or remane them from .zip to .bk (back)
Also I'm not responsible for any problems these may cause your phone liability stuff etc...
I didn't make any of then but that are both great.

I'm not familiar with the T... why use it? what does it do? I replaced my boot/shutdown without this setting and they seem to work fine

The T basically makes sure the animation isn't cut short by the system. It would happen to me so the I.E. T let's it run the full animation rather before loading your homescreen. It is better described in the link above me that the OP posted.

I'm on Sprint variant ls990 and the T has no effect on my system. Everyone else says it forces the animation to play until it's completed but Ive tested it multiple times in different ways, with different animations and no dice for me. Currently my bootanimation plays to completion but is just 644, no sticky. What always works for me is how the desc.txt of the bootanimation itself is handled.
What I mean is if the desc.txt has a "p" before the loop/part line, it plays until the system boots.
If it has a "c" before the loop/part line, it plays to completion.
Maybe it's just Sprint but T/Sticky doesn't affect it at all for me and I can't figure it out. The desc.txt dictates how its played and if it will continue to play even after the system has loaded.
1644 is the same as rw-r-r-T.
