Display Issue After 4.4.4 - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Team ,
I bought a Moto G for my wife , it was new but since there are is no official Motorola support here so there was no warranty with it. However i checked the phone in a lot of detail and there were no issues whatsoever with it.
After sometime , Kit kat Update poped up on the phone. I updated the phone via OTA (normal process) . Now after that the on the white area of the screen , i can see different Red lines. When i turn off the phone for 30-40 mins and turn it back on the display is fine. But then again they appear. Is this a sofware based issue or hardware based ? ( i am inclining towards hardware )
I installed an app called as Screen Filter and the red lines / colors have been very minimal now.
Anyone else faced this issue ? would downgrading / a custom rom would solve this up ?

Anyone ?

Do they appear in screenshots?

Nop. This is leading me to believe that this is a hardware level issue. Should i give a shot at reverting back over to 4.4.2 or its a waste of time ?

Reverting to 4.4.2 at the moment is not good, you can't actually fully revert, wait for the 4.4.4 factory images. Did you a try a factory reset?

Yes , a couple of times but to no avail. Here is the situation as of now , which is quite bad i know . I use an app know as screen filter from the playstore which reduces the brightness / colors and atleast makes the phone a bit use able , but its still v bad .
Please check these images up , they are off boot screen. It was all fine before the updates to 4.4.2

It seems to me a hardware related issue. Please contact the service center. They will either repair or change the display screen.

Battery and Proximity issue
Hi everyone,
I have installed JMP v 8.0 custom ROM in my MMX A110.
The ROM is pretty good but i am facing mainly two issues.
1. Proximity Sensor Not working though previously it was working with stock ROM. I read about replacing boot.img file but not sure how to do that.
2. Battery stuck at 99%: When I charge the batter while te mobile is on it stuck at 99% as soon as I switch of the mobile it reaches 100% but again if I start my mobile then the indicator turns red and battery goes back to 99%. I tried using battery calibration aand also tried to clear battery stats from advance panel but all in vain. The proble still persist.
Kindly provide me the solutions for the same.
Thank you,
Nutankumar

ZSD has been provided for assistance, which generally stabilize the shot taken by the camera.
So, no one really knows what is ZSD option? I googled everything...

The settings menu has an option called ZSD, which is a type of image stabilisation feature, and it actually manages to work quite well. When turned on, slight movements are very well compensated by the software.

Touchscreen works at 50% after installing wrong rom

Hi all,
i got problem with my Jiayu G2F TD-SCMA (1280*720), accidentaly i installed new custom rom(lewa) for WCDMA(840*480) version of rom, to my TD-SCMA.
Sure, that rom dont boot proprely, then i realize it was bad rom, so i install back my backup with CWM. And then apear my bug with touchsreen.
It looks like it works still only at 840*480, just look at video, and screens. I gues its not hw problem, because it apear after installing wrong rom to my device.
-everythings other works fine
What i was try:
- using SP flashtool to flash official roms(2x versions), custom roms = no change
- format all smartphone using SP flashtool = no change
- install some calibration .apk's = no change
- get backup from my friend = no change
- and my fiend gues its not kernel problem, because he compared my kernel with his and its same
imgup.cz/image/X2E - androsenzor
imgup.cz/image/X2F - multitouch
youtube.com/watch?v=x-G85y3FBHg&feature=youtu.be - video of problem
my apologize, i dont have permission to add links to post.
Best regards.

you have update your touch controller with wrong fw by flashing. it is still possible to flash it back, but you should have a loadable kernel with source of it. you should know a type of controller and find suitable fw (ex. on github). add fw in source code + add flash init block. in two words something like this. detailes you can google.

need help, same problem, but i don't install wrong rom i only install recovery CTR.
I tried several roms, nothing fix the touch problems.. help me
Guys, did anybody find a working solution?
I have the same problem with my phone.
That happened because the touch screen controller chip get flashed somehow during the installation of G2FW rom to a G2F TW, and now is working with lower resolution of G2fw phone... So far i didn't find any solution, reflashing the software didn't help.
Probably the situation is similar like here: forum.zopomobileshop.com/thread-964-1-1.html
and if we can find a suitable bin file for our phone this solution can help.
As far i know that my G2F phone has got a ft5316 chip, but i didn't find anything for it.
The chip is build on the display connector, so probably if we change the whole screen module to new one it will work properly.
Anybody got some new ideas how to get the touch screen work good again?
I send back my phone, waiting for refund or send me new one wcdma.
I'm having the same problem.
has anyone found a solution?

Exactly, I wrote a email to focaltech, but no answers from them yet.
Anyway, did anybody try to replace the touch screen?
I have ordered one for 42$, and still waiting for it to arrive, but I'm quite worried, cause I read on Russian forum that in some cases it didn't help;/
do you have any experience with this?

No, but I will try the same thing.
I'll buy another touch screen.
Please keep us informed if new touch solve the problem.
Success! Touch screen works correctly after replacing!
We have a solution, but its a bit expensive

Rotation stickey

Anyone having problems with Rotation on this phone?
Many times it goes into landscape and have to shake the phone a few times to get it back.

Boot your Android in safe mode.
If your Android is not restarting after booting in safe mode then their is third party app that causing random reboots.
Find and remove that app and see problem resolved or not.
Also try enabling developer options and getting the LogCat error-logging. It might be possible that something got corrupted and is causing a lockdown. Try filtering the log for Intent.ACTION_REBOOT maybe.
