Rotation stickey - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone having problems with Rotation on this phone?
Many times it goes into landscape and have to shake the phone a few times to get it back.
Sometimes an app will just get stuck into landscape when you exit it's normal go back in and it's still in landscape.

Can't believe the basic stuff like this has been broken and didn't fixed. Anyway Lollipop is around the corner.

I thought that my device was bad! It's good to see that wasn't only my device!

I experience this too

Did anyone tried official nightly liquid smooth for Moto G ?

Here is link for download
http://www.drdevs.com/devs/teamliquid/Nightly/Moto G Unified/LS-KK-v3.0-2014-02-07-falcon.zip
I would like more details than two download links.
Edit: https://www.facebook.com/liquidsmoothroms
It would appear that they have indeed added the Moto G to their list.

No necessary. I've already downloaded the 2nd ver.
Have you installed it? Do I need gapps to install or does it already include it?

I tried it the other day and it was pretty good.
The only issue is that it sometimes won't wake up even if you connect the charger so you gotta reboot the phone forcibly with the power button. I haven't tried other stuff but other than that it was pretty msmooth.

Google Camera App + Cyanogenmod11

Okay so by now everyone here should know that Google just released its Google Camera app on Play Store (gosh I guess I won't see Nexus 10 mk2 afterall)
But I have a big problem with it. I have Nexus 5 Cyanogenmod11 snapshot m5 and camera crashes on launching HDR+ every single time. I had similar problem app pulled from stock nexus 5 (can be found everywhere on the net) - it acted the same although that one needed app data wipe to even launch again. Is cyanogen missing some libraries for camera or something like that?
How can I make it work?
Is there a way to see a detailed crash log and fix the problem?
Anyone envountered similar issue?

Giroscope gone crazy

Hi! So I was watching some YouTube yesterday and I noticed that the giroscope didn't work though it was activated. I disabled it and re-enable it and it worked fine. After a couple of minutes it stopped working again. I'm sure it's just a software issue but I don't know what exactly. I'm running the stock rom with faux mainline kernel 09 and his recommended settings from G+. Thanks for your time

Display Issue After 4.4.4

Hi Team ,
I bought a Moto G for my wife , it was new but since there are is no official Motorola support here so there was no warranty with it. However i checked the phone in a lot of detail and there were no issues whatsoever with it.
After sometime , Kit kat Update poped up on the phone. I updated the phone via OTA (normal process) . Now after that the on the white area of the screen , i can see different Red lines. When i turn off the phone for 30-40 mins and turn it back on the display is fine. But then again they appear. Is this a sofware based issue or hardware based ? ( i am inclining towards hardware )
I installed an app called as Screen Filter and the red lines / colors have been very minimal now.
Anyone else faced this issue ? would downgrading / a custom rom would solve this up ?
Anyone ?
Do they appear in screenshots?

Nop. This is leading me to believe that this is a hardware level issue. Should i give a shot at reverting back over to 4.4.2 or its a waste of time ?

Reverting to 4.4.2 at the moment is not good, you can't actually fully revert, wait for the 4.4.4 factory images. Did you a try a factory reset?

Yes , a couple of times but to no avail. Here is the situation as of now , which is quite bad i know . I use an app know as screen filter from the playstore which reduces the brightness / colors and atleast makes the phone a bit use able , but its still v bad .
Please check these images up , they are off boot screen. It was all fine before the updates to 4.4.2

It seems to me a hardware related issue. Please contact the service center. They will either repair or change the display screen.

Yep got 186 this morning. Just curious what are you hoping it'll fix. As I'm not having any issues...
Dark mode is not available as a toggle in pie. Still have to use a dark theme to compensate for this. The volume of the dual speakers is not as loud as in Oreo. Just these minor issues. Overall Pie is working well.

OK. I never needed or wanted a dark mode so I guess I'm not missing or wanting it.
I mentioned on another thread that to me the volume of pie is about the same as Oreo. Maybe it's just me.
Like you say, pie is working well with me too... [emoji1303]

I didn't need to. Everything is working fine. The only thing I had to do was sideload Google Play Store apk as the new firmware doesn't have it.

Seems OK for me.... But I have only had Pie for a couple of days. Too early to tell. But from using the phone it seems OK.
A few people on this forum have said that Pie is worse than Oreo for battery life. And speaker volume is quieter also....

I have so many issues with my phone. Apps are managed terribly. Battery drain and battery health, some apps don't work on wlan and notifications don't work for standard apps like messenger and outlook until I open the app. Basically the most important parts of a smartphone don't function properly.
with 186 I can't activate Google assistant with voice command 'ok google', spent 30 minutes still couldn't find where the setting was. Any help?
will the bootloader be locked again after the update?
Does the call recording still work after the last update?

Hi,
Please , how did you get to install emui 9?
firmware finder says my version of emui is not supported.
Also, mi just got my Honor note 10 4 days ago, dyou think that is why theres no OEM Unlock in the developer options?
