4.4.4 Stock recovery. Question. - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For those who have updated to 4.4.4 , can some one try this for me.
>Enter stock recovery
>Wipe cache partition
Does the phone auto reboot or does it say wipe complete and display reboot option ?

It looks like wipe cache does nothing in stock recovery , stock 4.4.4. Any solution ?

Bump

Stock Recovery has always been buggy and is mostly useless. Install a Custom Recovery like PhilZ Touch.

Somebody explained to me on an other forum that wipe cache partition is different from clearing cache under settings>storage>cache ? Is this true ?

Help... CyanogenMod 10 Jellybean 4.1.2

Hi everyone, I tried the rom on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009 and so far everything is great, I installed GAPPS... I think... I'm kind of a noob :/
Anyway everytime I open the Play Store it just closes in a nano second! And when I open the internet browser or other apps like that it says [Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped]
I used the HTC Sensation 4G AIO kit by Hasoon 2000 v2.0 for everything.
Can anyone please help me
you haven't done full wipe ..before flashing the ROM i think
go to recovery ...and do full wipe
if CWM recovery -> wipe->factory reset + wipe cache + wipe dalvik
if 4EXT recovery ->wipe/format->format everything except sdcard
then flash the ROm and then gaaps
that will do
btw when you do full wipe ..you lose all data of the phone ..apps/messages/call logs etc etc

[Q] Change recovery-Rom

HI, i have been having isues with my asus tf101 baterry, about one month ago it suddenly charge and discharges, like: 10%-25%-40%-70%-80%-100%...I made a factory reset but nothing. 2 weeks ago, it solved alone, without do anything, and was ok for 2 weeks, now again i have the problem..
i have installed cwm recovery, i want to change to android revolution rom, to see if the problem finish:
1 question: How i change from cwm to twrp recovery? installing twrp from cwm using a zip? is there no problem?? or downloading goomanager, installing recovery script?? Is there any problem to use cwm or twrp( i have read, to instal kk i dont use cwm)?
2 question, what rom is stable to try to solve this? i see kk 4.3 etc, but i just one my baterry works ok...
3 question, is there any way to clean absolutely the stock rom? i tried wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset(again) but nothing solve.
4 question, is possible to wipe ALL including system, and install the asus stock rom using zip¿?
Thanks for your atention, please be the most specifically possible because i am new on this, and i just one my tablet for study(read books).

Q1: I think you can just flash the new recovery via the current recovery if you have the new recover zip file.
Q2: Kat Kiss works fine for me.
Q3: If you want to completely return to stock, you would have to use NVFlash. There are tons of instructions on the Dev thread. I primarily use Tubuntu for flashing with NVFlash. [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995157]
You can find other images as well. I used a stock image once to RMA the tablet but now I'm not sure where I got it. This method will ensure that every bit in your memory is exactly as it left the factory. Including the bootloader, recovery partition and everything else.
Q4: Refer Q3.
Download flashable TWRP 2.6.3.11 zip for TF101:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devd...ct/dl/?id=3280
You should use TWRP for KatKiss ROMs, do not use CWM
Flash that Zip from CWM then reboot fully into your current ROM, then reboot into Recovery to check it has flashed properly
From TWRP you can wipe everything and flash KatKiss & Gapps

Is this the same process for going from TWRP to TWRP? just "install" the newest version from recovery and do the reboots?

Yep, so long as you reboot into your ROM after flashing the new TWRP before booting back into recovery
Thanks for your reply, i will tray soon. So i want to clean the asus stock room to see if battery goes ok, i tried wipe data, cache, dalvik, with cwm, but nothing.
If i install twrp what more options can i try before change the rom? what more wipe do i need?? and finally, if i change the rom, is possible to go back to asus stock just flashing from recovery? or how should i do?
Apart from wiping the ROM (SYSTEM) there's not much else you can wipe, you could try wiping the same as you have already done, but from TWRP, see if that makes any difference, maybe the battery is coming to the end of its life
You can flash stock ASUS ROMs back again from TWRP yes, but you will wipe your recovery & ROM back to 100% stock by doing it
Best thing to do is to make a full Nandroid Backup from TWRP before flashing any custom ROMs, save it to MicroSD Card, then if you want to go back to the way it is now, just restore the backup from TWRP
That way you keep TWRP and can switch between as many ROMs as you like and always have your stock backup to go back to whenever you want

Bootloop in custom roms

Hi everybody
I have a X1032 model. I'm having a problem flashing custom roms. I'm on stock 4.4.2. I unlocked my bootloader and installed cwm with fastboot " CWM-swipe-6.0.4.7-falcon.img". After that i rooted my phone with some supersu.zip file that i had to flash in cwm. So i have bootloader unlocked and a rooted device. Downloaded C-rom 4.4.3, wiped data/factory reset, wiped chache, and in mounts and storage i wiped /system. After that i flashed C-rom 4.4.3 succesfully but when i reboot the phone its stuck on a bootloop and i can't see why. I've tried it 3 times with no luck and even an older version of it, i tried cm11 4.4.3 but same no luck i tried waiting 20 minutes but it didnt help. Am i doing something wrong? or did i miss a step or something?
These are the roms i tried to flash:

If you can help me please do thanks in regards.
Have you wiped cache? I'm not sure but wiping cache sometimes helps.
You may try Philz touch recovery, too. It can clean the phone to install a new rom, so it may solve your problem if you forgot to wipe a partition.
edit: Sorry, you said you wiped cache, missed it. You can still try another recovery I think. Don't know why but trying another recovery sometimes help. (I saved myself once, but may be just coincidence)
dont wipe the system!

[Q] Wipe dalvik cache with rooted stock rom and recovery

Hi everybody, I have a rooted stock rom (I used pingpongroot) and I want to wipe dalvik cache in order to use mods like the camera mod. The problem is that the option "Wipe cache" in stock recovery is nearly useless.. If I use this command and reboot I don't see the Android Upgrade popup
Does anybody have a solution??
Bumping an older thread, I'd also like to know an answer?

Cannot wipe cache

Hi,
I have a little problem with the official TWRP on my HonorView10 (eu) (C432), I cannot wipe the cache (dalvik is ok).
I've flashed the stock firmware just in case but still, TWRP is saying the same thing :
Unable to wipe Cache.
Unable to wipe /cache.
Any solution ?
Use stock recovery - there is no TWRP version that works 100% on the BKL-09
Thanks for your answer, but then, how do I install a custom rom then ?
I'm getting into a bootloop every time I try to install a rom (no matter the rom).

Via adb of course.
Check openkirin.net for guides and a few great roms that work on our EU View 10
