HI, i have been having isues with my asus tf101 baterry, about one month ago it suddenly charge and discharges, like: 10%-25%-40%-70%-80%-100%...I made a factory reset but nothing. 2 weeks ago, it solved alone, without do anything, and was ok for 2 weeks, now again i have the problem..
i have installed cwm recovery, i want to change to android revolution rom, to see if the problem finish:
1 question: How i change from cwm to twrp recovery? installing twrp from cwm using a zip? is there no problem?? or downloading goomanager, installing recovery script?? Is there any problem to use cwm or twrp( i have read, to instal kk i dont use cwm)?
2 question, what rom is stable to try to solve this? i see kk 4.3 etc, but i just one my baterry works ok...
3 question, is there any way to clean absolutely the stock rom? i tried wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset(again) but nothing solve.
4 question, is possible to wipe ALL including system, and install the asus stock rom using zip¿?
Thanks for your atention, please be the most specifically possible because i am new on this, and i just one my tablet for study(read books).
I have a asus tf101 b70 root, with CWM recovery is a old version 5.0.26 something..

Q1: I think you can just flash the new recovery via the current recovery if you have the new recover zip file.
Q2: Kat Kiss works fine for me.
Q3: If you want to completely return to stock, you would have to use NVFlash. There are tons of instructions on the Dev thread. I primarily use Tubuntu for flashing with NVFlash. [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995157]
You can find other images as well. I used a stock image once to RMA the tablet but now I'm not sure where I got it. This method will ensure that every bit in your memory is exactly as it left the factory. Including the bootloader, recovery partition and everything else.
Q4: Refer Q3.
Download flashable TWRP 2.6.3.11 zip for TF101:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devd...ct/dl/?id=3280
You should use TWRP for KatKiss ROMs, do not use CWM
Flash that Zip from CWM then reboot fully into your current ROM, then reboot into Recovery to check it has flashed properly
From TWRP you can wipe everything and flash KatKiss & Gapps

Is this the same process for going from TWRP to TWRP? just "install" the newest version from recovery and do the reboots?

Yep, so long as you reboot into your ROM after flashing the new TWRP before booting back into recovery
Thanks for your reply, i will tray soon. So i want to clean the asus stock room to see if battery goes ok, i tried wipe data, cache, dalvik, with cwm, but nothing.
If i install twrp what more options can i try before change the rom? what more wipe do i need?? and finally, if i change the rom, is possible to go back to asus stock just flashing from recovery? or how should i do?
Apart from wiping the ROM (SYSTEM) there's not much else you can wipe, you could try wiping the same as you have already done, but from TWRP, see if that makes any difference, maybe the battery is coming to the end of its life
You can flash stock ASUS ROMs back again from TWRP yes, but you will wipe your recovery & ROM back to 100% stock by doing it
Best thing to do is to make a full Nandroid Backup from TWRP before flashing any custom ROMs, save it to MicroSD Card, then if you want to go back to the way it is now, just restore the backup from TWRP
That way you keep TWRP and can switch between as many ROMs as you like and always have your stock backup to go back to whenever you want

After flashing my first ROM on my new Asus TF300T I attempted to do a restore from CWM recovery and I just get bootloop. I have tried factory reset and wiping cache and dalvic but to no avail. The only way to get my tab working again is to flash back to AOKP. I have read the thread by d_crossfader but It doesn't seem to be the solution to get nand restore to work to get me back to stock. Please Help.
OK so I solved this. Sort of. Flashed a cyanogen rom and then was able to restore but then no wifi. I assume this is a kernel problem. Gonna try going to stock kernel. Can someone tell me how to backup the kernel? do I need TWRP recovery to do this? Is anyone working on an amon-ra style recovery?
Same here but solved it
I had the same problem.
i was on US.29 and wanted to upgrade to US.30 so i said before i upgrade lets try a custom rom so i tried 1) SKANKWICH CM9 KANG build and then 2) [AOKP][Build 40][4.0.4] Unofficial AOKP. I found that both builds was similar but didn't like (for my reasons) and wanted to stay as close to stock. So i tried to restore my 2 hours ago, nandoid backup. Bootloops was the result. Wiped data, factory reset, dalvik cache, and restored 5 times but no hope.
Solved this by installing the SKANKWICH CM9 KANG build from the recovery and when the device started, i downloaded the US.30 and unzipped it to internals storage root. Then restarted the tf300t in recovery, wiped data, factory reset and installed US.30 zip and everything now is fine.
I dont know if the reason is that before the first rom install i forgot to restore (copy paste) the original build.prop file.
Also finaly the machine was unlocked, unrooted without any custom recovery.
I think this is just a bug with nandroid restores, saw a few people having problems.

Good to hear! This is what worked for me too.
I then had to flash recovery again and re-root.
I used Thing O Doom's method because his tool claims to solve boot-loops and bricks as well so I figured it would be handy to keep around. Also, it is simple to use.
BE CAREFUL to insert the correct recovery blob if you use his tool though!!!
Here's the link to his thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681155
Will Try
I will try peri-04 one click root to see if i still get bootloops after nandroid restore. But where do u find the recovery blob u said u used for your Tf300?

Under "CUSTOM RECOVERY" section in the index thread:

After you get the blob file rename it to "recoveryblob" and replace the one that comes in the PERI folder.

the best for me is cwm.. the twrp is little more 'dificult'
I was on CWM until about last week, then I decided to take a look at TWRP again. I never tried CWM 6 so I can't compare TWRP to that, but navigating through TWRP is way quicker. The thing I hate about CWM (hopefully it isn't like this anymore in CWM 6) is confirming a wipe/install/format whatever. It takes ages and is really frustrating. I also disliked the menu layout. Why is wiping dalvik cache in advanced? Nobody knows... In TWRP, the things you need when installing a new ROM or Kernel is right there, when I flashed Air Kernel it even asked me whether I wanted to wipe cache & dalvik cache. Lastly, I prefer GooManager over Rom Manager. Automates the whole flashing process, if it automatically did a titanium backup restore after flashing a new ROM it would be perfect . So far I haven't experienced any bugs in either one, but they both seem to have some.
Looking for some input on clean ROM on the TF300T,
This is my second time trying to install it and both times it was successful, however as soon as the boot image loads up it stays stuck loading... I did download the file again thinking it may have been corrupted.
It has been sitting there loading for 20 minutes now.
I am using cwm the latest version and I did not install a kernel still running stock
Any ideas on what could cause this?

CWM has issues on this unit. Many, many complaints. I use twrp. If you decide to use twrp be sure to choose JB and tf300t version.
Clean ROM is freaking amazing! Seriously just do it I love the mods I can make for it too! Can't wait till I get my volume long press seek mod done! Love this device!

OK. It was just a suggestion since the problem you are experiencing is usually cleared by using twrp.

I'm sorry it is hard to tell since you have chosen an older twrp to install. The current is five versions later and was updated as the kernels were updated to account for changes. The rom you are flashing is based on 10.4.4.25.

Use TWRP 2.4.1.0
You are using a very old version of TWRP that has bugs with AROMA installer. So that is most likely where your issues are.
What ROM are you ccoming from? What boot loader are you on.
Sounds to me like you need to upgrade your boot loader and possibly do a full wipe - make sure you are on latest TWRP first otherwise you could brick if you use an older recovery!

The only ROM i was able to flash that was fully functioning is cm10.1,
i have also flashed PA 2.9 but had some bugs i couldn't stand (screen rotation not working, extended desktop with no pie)
as for boot loader it says 1.00e by "US _Epad-10.4.2.20-20121228" A03
I just updated the TWRP as recommended on the other post (v2.4.1.0)
on every flash i wipe dalvik / Cache / Factory reset.
Before attempting to boot into Clean Rom i also followed the steps on screen saying to wipe cache and dalvik.
I m hoping PA releases a 3.0 for this device and/or i m able to get Clean rom running

If you are coming from cm10.1 you will definitely need to do a full wipe as it is non stock. It does say this in the first post. You only do a dalvik and cache wipe when upgrading from the same ROM or in CROMI's case from stock.
Do a data wipe in recovery, make sure you have a titanium backup or equivalent if you want to restore apps.
Success!!!
It worked perfectly fine after i install the back up i did before i flashed my 1st costume rom,
I rooted made a back up at stock/rooted... It just would not install from a full wipe,
it install fine once i flashed that specific backup and dirty flashed then wiped dalvik and cache before booting.
about a week ago i updated to the newest cm10.1 nightly with gapps 4.2. after flashing those i tried to flash leankernel. my battery was low and the phone turned off when rebooting after the leankernel flash. since then i cannot flash any kernel. i have to do a battery pull to get back into cwm recovery. once in recovery i can wipe data and reinstall cm 10.1 with the standard kernel. i have tried just about every combo of wiping cache, davlik, fix permissions. still not able to flash any kernel. could it have something to do with gapps 4.2 or the phone shutting off mid flash? if so does anyone know how to repair? i already flashed back to stock and rerooted re-unlocked, etc. thanks
and to clarify , it was gapps 4.2.2
Ive found that 3.4 based kernels work with some roms and not with others.
try an older build date its likely not 3.4 based.
or, if your trying a non 3.4 kernel and it wont boot, try a 3.4 kernel.
If you're trying to flash LeanKernel, what's the zip file you're attempting to flash? Also, what are you wiping prior to flashing the kernel?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
i tried the mastamoon 3.4 kernel with no luck . the rom i amrunning is the cm-10 nightly 2013-03-24. the leankernel version i am running is lk_s3vzw_aosp_jb42-v2.9. i wipe cache then wipe davlik then flash, it always worked with that procedure before, but since the problem i have tried wiping both after along with fixing permissions. before this issue it was simple as pi, wipe cache, davlik, flash, reboot .
You could always try twrp. Ha. It would make no sense why you couldn't install a kernel.
I would assume since you went back to Odin stock. It would flash factory kernel and give you a clean slate.
So unless cwm is outdated.... ?
Sounds very weird.
actually that is another variable that i didnt think of. cwm updated from 6.0.1 to 6.0.3 or something like that. but then again the original recovery i used after the clean slate was the ez recovery which used 6.0.1 stupid question, but how does twrp work? i always used cwm. i tried flashing twrp but cwm came up when i went to recovery when i tried using twrp?! that was before i did a stock recovery so it couldnt be possible that i am running both? should i delete cwm before i use twrp? if so how? if you dont feel like going into that much detail, i can search it.
i figured out twrp. never gave it achance. ill see if that does the trick
tried twrp. still the same thing going on. gonna go to bed now. ill check back tomorrow after work to see if there are any more ideas. thanks
Problem solved. I went into my internal SD via astro and deleted all old traces of cwm as well as ez unlock and ez recovery. I was getting a generic (showed setting icon instead of regular su icon)super user screen come up prior to that, after deleting those files the regular super user came back. Rebooted into recovery via twrp , cleared cache, Davlik, flashed lean kernel and it worked. What do you think the issue was? Lingering files from ez recovery? That weird su thing?
How to do a clean install(no rom installed just recovery)? I want to format everything and flash my rom thru otg. Shud I wipe everything when I boot to recovery?
I think internal storage is the correct option then though it also removes all media on the device. Otherwise clear system, data, cache, bootloader, dalvik. Then install the rom from external source.
Should I flash from fastboot the recovery(twrp)? It might get wiped once the wipe everything.
I have same doubts....

So do I... You necro'd a 8 month old thread...
I tried to go through few thereds however I was unable to find an answer.
I'm still on 5.11 oreo a d official TWRP. I would like to update to newest pie, however I would go for clean flash.
How should I do it?
I already backed up all app+ data using titanium.
Should I just go to TWRP
1. Factory default
2. Wipe all
3. Wipe system. Data, davlik and cache
4 flash latest pie and don't reboot
5 reboot to twrp
6 flash twrp
7 reboot to TWRP and flash magisk
It it right?
Thank you

Miss all days we could go to TWRP, erase all **** and then just flash rom. Period.
Now, doing this can even brick the dam phone.
It sucks!

That also happened to me. I do not know how to go to another custom ROM from another custom ROM without going to MsmDownloadToolV4 to unbrick my device. Actually i did unbrick my device twice already because of trying various custom ROM.
Also, is there a way to just restore from recovery then flash another custom ROM. Then if we want to change custom ROM again we can just restore from recovery again then flash another custom ROM?
Please help us guys. Thanks.
