I got my One Plus One invite today but trying to decide if it's worth it. I currently have a HTC One M7 which is still running pretty well. Any comments from the community?

As an example of my personal opinion of the OPO, somebody offered me a trade for their NIB Galaxy S5 (G900W8) and I didn't take it. It's a beautiful, inexpensive, functional, unlocked piece of well made hardware. You don't get the SAMOLED from Samsung or HTC speakers but then you also don't suffer from Knox or locked bootloaders or voided warranty from rooting your phone.
If you don't like it then sell it on. Everybody should get one.
I always wonder how people get their invites, how did you get yours?:cyclops:
Yes, buy it. I did and I don't regret it. It's easily unlocked, runs CM out of the box which is awesome, nice size (I have large hands though so take that as it is) and the one thing that surprised me is that it has good cell reception, it blows my nexus 5 out of the water and keeps pace with and even surpasses my moto x in signal in some areas.
So yes, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
Same question here
I just got an invite myself and I'm asking myself the same question.
I've been interested in trying a phone in the phablet category, I think that's mostly what has my attention, the screen size.
I currently have a N5, and I get a reliable 4 hours SOT and 24 hours standby with it on 4.4 and I love the optical image stabilization.
I think that's what I'd miss the most about my N5, I have somewhat shaky hands.
From what I've heard and read and my experience with cyanogenmod battery life, I don't think that there's going as huge of a difference in battery life and I really don't need more than my N5 gives me.
Also, I was kind of holding out for new phones that will support T-mobile band 12 for LTE.
Still that large beautiful screen calls out to me, lol.
If I can't decide by the end of the day, I may just buy it to give myself some more time to think about it.
I can sell it, if I decide against it.

To be honest I don't know how I got mine either. I was part of their forum just prior to announcement and have been entering every time I did see a change to try to win an invite.
But thanks everyone for your feedback I decided to buy, it's just too good to pass up.

Cool, Congrads. If you happen to have an extra invite sitting around, I don't mind taking it. ;p
ordered One
my friend got an invite this morning, his OPO profile account number was in 17xxx. He wasn't going to use it anyways so i grabbed it. Should see how many days it will take to ship.
I got my invite today at work & I spent the rest of the day asking myself the same thing. I got home & just ordered it; I didn't want to second guess myself anymore. I figured I could always sell it if I didn't like it. I'm on an LG G2 & was thinking about going to the G3, but this is almost half the price.
I also got an invite today, besdies the unattractive shipping, duties, and taxes in canada that rack up to about 100$ more, it's a beautiful looking devices and from a kickstarting company, why not have the first phone they make

So, like many of you, I am struggling to decide whether to just pull the trigger on the One X, or wait to see what the SGS III feels like in hand. I am really leaning towards the One X, simply based on looks - in my opinion the pictures I've seen of the SGSIII don't do it any favors...
So, for those who did the pre-order and have received your AT&T One X, any regrets? Is there anything about the phone (aside from the 16gb storage) that, after playing around with the phone for a while, you now wish you hadn't decided on the One X?
Finally, assuming I do go with the One X, how the he!! do I decide between White or Gray? They both look great!
Oh yeah, one last thing, I've seen a lot of mention of the $49 deal for a family upgrade - has anyone seen anything better than $149 for a single line upgrade (white or gray)? I've seen one guy say he was able to get AT&T to match RS price of $49 on a single line upgrade - has anyone else had any luck calling and getting them to do this?
Thanks!
No regrets. After seeing the SGS 3 announcement I was even more satisfied with my choice. Aside from some neat software, the SGS 3 isn't any better than the One X, and everybody was expecting it to blow it out of the water. Coming to US with the S4 (same processor as the One X) and the same screen as the Galaxy Nexus (which I am not a fan of)...glad I didn't wait. I also think it just looks ugly. But that could just be me. My One X will be delivered today. I won't be home to get it until Sunday
Rabble rabble rabble.
No regrets.... IF we get our bootloader unlocked....

The pentile screen on the S3 is a dealbreaker for me. Couldn't be happier that I decided to pre-order the One X. Without a doubt, I made the right choice.

My only regret is that AT&T took so long to release the phone. Europe and Canada have had them for over two weeks now.

No regrets. I also am amazed at how many posts I see when I get a new device... some people spend weeks or even months contemplating a phone. I'm not rich by any means, but when a new phone comes out I buy it and sell my old one at near MRSP as I keep them in mint condition.
Just buy the phone. It's awesome! Also, most places have a return period too so you can take it home to play around with. I never understood how people could spend so much time contemplating over whether to purchase a phone or not. It's crazy.
Bro the s3 is a frickin sham!
Touchwiz makes it look cartoonish at best
Siri-uh-hem s-voice will soon be replaced by androids own majel
The whole eye following crap won't work even in a dim-ishly lit room and at angles
The Mali gpu can't hope to compete with t3 even if the CPU is faster
And man, it is fugly while the x is easily one of the best looking phones around
Also, pentile ~ deal breaker

unfortunately, I've been stung in the past with jumping on a new product right at launch (Captivate GPS issue, Transformer Prime GPS issue again!) when waiting a bit to get others' reactions might have saved me some headaches or buyer's remorse.
Chances are that I am going to plunk down my credit card on Sunday for the One X, but any real-life experiences I can hear about before then will be helpful!

The Mali 400 is a better GPU. Its the same GPU thats in the SII, but they overclocked it for the SIII.

Several review units have now been out for a week or two, as well as the Rogers guys that have had it for a few weeks. Id say its 99% positive feedback from GPS to OS to battery life.
The 1% of course is the issue of non removable battery and storage. If you get over that hurdle, you should be fine.
just wanted to let everyone know that bestbuy has the 8x for free. i just picked one up myself. my brother bought his from att last week so of course he was pissed. he called att and got them to give him a $100 credit in place of price matching. i suggest that everyone who already owns one do the same.
btw you can get the lime light off bestbuy.com for free too.
I ordered it Tuesday night for free from Best Buy. I am excited to get this phone. It will be here tomorrow. It is also now a penny on Amazon Wireless.

Anyone have any idea how long these sales might last? Through the holidays perhaps? I've been debating on getting one, but I need to confer one more time with others on my family plan as we'll be losing our unlimited data if I go through with it. I'd kick myself if I missed this though...
The sale ends Sat. 12/8. I got one for my wife last night.
I got mine on Friday and I love it. This so smooth compared to any version of Android that I have ever run. Windows Phone could be going places if it can find a loyal audience. I am missing a few apps that I'd like, but I am hoping to see the platform grow. It can't really do that if no one uses it, so I am sticking with it. The phone has a couple of minor annoyances like the power button being hard to press, but I love the design and the way the phone feels in my hand. The camera has been taking very nice pictures too. It is better at focusing than the Xperia Ion that I used to have. Mobile Internet Explorer is also much better than I expected any version of IE to be. This is a lot of phone for free! I went with the blue one. This is a very unique take on a mobile OS. I like it.

My power button issue has been completely solved by my case that arrived today.
Re:
Well, I missed the sale, but it's at $100 right now and they're going to give me close to $80 for my old Bionic. Unfortunately, my local Best Buy didn't have any in stock, so I ordered a black one and should have it in less than a week. I'm also researching cases, as that's usually the first thing I do with a new phone regardless.
I've been reading a lot of good things about it, and the few negatives I've seen (so far), I don't consider deal-breakers. I'm really itching to get my hands on this thing and I'm extremely hopeful that I'll be happier with it than I have been lately with Android. As long as it's fast and smooth, I'll be happy.
I've had the 32GB EU G3 for a month now and I've just bought (unfortunately) an invite on eBay after missing my invite from OnePlus but I am well excited! I can see me sticking with this phone, I am expecting to be disappointed with the size and weight but everything else should please

Another one here! Had the G3 for a few weeks now and just ordered the OPO today...I have the ATT version. Looking forward to the OPO!
I just sold the G3 when I got my One. I liked the G3 a bit better in the form factor as it was smaller but honestly, the One is a better all around phone at this point. Battery life is better, development is better, audio is better and its much faster with fewer lags. If they get Cyanogen working on the G3 it will be a fantastic phone but for all the hope there is with it now, I just can't see them unlocking the bootloader anytime soon on the AT&T model. My one does not have the yellowing issue but you can see the digitizer plainly. There are just many small issues with the G3. They can all be worked out but they will always be behind the One with Cyanogen. The difference in price was a big factor for me as I wanted a new Ping driver and that extra cash made the difference.

Bro, you should do your research first before buying anything lol The only real hardware fault that I've found on the OPO comes in the form of a yellow band found on the bottom 1/5th of the display, the yellow tint becomes apparent on white backgrounds, but it personally doesn't bother me, or I should say that I'm at peace with it now. For the price and specs, I'm happy with the purchase and compromise. There are a lot of people whining about the issue, and OnePlus has been ****ty with their service, but just open the packaging check it out, and if you don't like it, just sell it as new on eBay for a small 40-80 dollar profit after fees

Thanks for the reply mate, am I right in thinking the OPO is shipped from the country that you order from? So mine is shipped from the UK?
also if it does have the yellow banding (which I hope it doesn't because I can't overlook faults haha) will they not just exchange it?
Just ordered my opo to replace my oppo find 5 personal device, have a g3 work phone that I'm really digging, but got the invite and I'm excited for the upgrade.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the G3. If they had the development over there it definitely would have been a keeper. I think most of the compromises would be easily worked out by some good developers. The only thing that would not be able to catch up is the battery life. The size and the screen is fabulous for a 5.5" device. I'm still thinking the perfect phone would be a G2 sized device with all the updates of the G3 and the 805 processor.
I'm getting 50+ hrs per charge and avg about 5 to 6 hrs if SOT stock Rom, rooted. I think the G3 is one of the best phones I've used to date.

I actually love my G3 but I have been wanting the One for a while. #33467 on the OnePlus forum and did get my invite but gave it away because at the time my wife had a major surgery out of town from us and we were strapped for money. I just got the money together so I got the One. Or should I say its ordered.
I love Cyanogen and with the G3 so locked down right now for ATT I am glad I am able to get the One. I do have my G3 rooted with some good mods, viper4android, titanium, xposed tweakbox, etc. and it is very nice. It isn't as bogged down like my Sammy phones were with stock so I am enjoying it. But, I need development! I will be keeping it around. Letting the wifey take it and selling her note 3.
Well, I feel good about my choice getting the OPO. Can't wait!
I've never got over 4 hours sot on my G3 with the exact setup as my one, this phone never has under 7. You can cook eggs on the G3 under certain situations so I respect the 4 hour sot, the energy has to come from somewhere
Im in the same boat, I have the ONEPLUS and have been using it for almost a month. I have had the opportunity to get the LG G3 which I really want to get but I have had one thing stopping me from getting it. 1.) The audio/headphone jack problem I heard about. Some users say they dont have it some say they do.
I prefer the G3 over the ONEPLUS because the screen is the same size but the phone form factor is smaller and easier on the hands and pockets. Also it has removable battery which is a HUGE plus and the external SD card which is pretty nice, even though I use Google Drive.
So..I probably will stick with the ONEPLUS for a while until I have to switch to the G3.

Think you can get a Galaxy Note3, LG G2, Nexus 5 or other 800/801 spec phone for 350 (US) dollars?
I got the Nexus 5 and the OPO is way better(faster, better camera, quality materials, great design)
It's still worth it now and will still be worth it in the next 6-9 months and beyond.
But be realistic: it might have a band to some degree or it might not. You might have to use the supposedly poor after-sales service or you might never need to.
I have a very slight yellow band at certain angles. Being in China, it would be much easier and cheaper to send it back than those overseas but I will not. It doesn't bother me.
Overall: it's a big phone. It's a high-spec phone. It's a (comparatively) low-cost phone.

OPO blows the Nexus 5 out of the water. But who knows what the Nexus 6 will bring. I suspect that, if you are a diehard Nexus/pure aosp fan, the Nexus 6 would be a better choice (if you can live with subpar battery life). But if you like CM, the OPO is the best phone available. I'd say get it, and if you don't like it, sell it and get something else. You won't have any problem selling it for what you paid, and you might actually make some profit.
Way worth it. Typing this message on it

Honestly, its worth it for $350. But I might sell it and get he Nexus 6 depending what is the specs and price. CyanogenMod is always buggy. By the time its stable, then there is already next version of Android. I would pay $100 more for 64 GB Nexus 6
People keep complaining about the small issues here and there, but the updates keep rolling in every week or two, so I can't complain!
People say other phones are better built or designed nicer, or will just plain be faster, being released in the next few months, and they may be right too.
The point is this, to me anyway: If you want something for a great value with good build quality, and are willing to deal with a couple kinks as they continue to be worked out, then this is your phone.
If you want 100% cutting edge latest phone with 99% bug free, then wait and pay $800 for the next phone that comes out from someone else. But don't buy this expecting perfection, and then be pissy and complain about it like 25% of the people on here do
Just my opinion

This guys opinion is pretty damn spot on I might add. Also asking in a forum is this worth it is really not a great thing to do. You cant get a definitive answer in a place like this. Also if you are on the fence then leave it alone and pass on your invite to others. Some will love some will hate it but its an electronic device which can be sold easily. No real risk factor at all.
Do what you like and feel comfortable with. I personally have little yellow banding which is not a big deal and everything else works as it should...
Worth it. My Notes 1/2/3 and Nexus 5 are all collecting dust now. The OPO is a superb phone.
It's absolutely worth it. Especially for that price.

Agree, but if the one you get is affected Oneplus will not replace it. They will only give you a refund if the RMA is within 14 days and you have to pay return shipping.
There are quite a few of other issues like ghost touch detection, multi touch issues due to bad grounding, battery draining too fast, random WiFi connection drops, etc. Take a trip around their technical support forum.
Some of these do not affect all devices and some are supposedly going to be fixed by software ipdates . But still buying this phone right now is like playing lottery and it turns out you lose with a bad device then good luck with their customer support.
Again, I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it, I'm just saying do your research before buying and know what you are getting into and what to expect.
Oneplus had a real winner in their hands but the way they have been handling things look very shady.
Here are some links:
This guy just gave up because Oneplus never had the decency to reply back to him. To my knowledge all phones have this issue including mine which really doesn't bother me but it those how the company handled the problem.

WiFi issues, I myself don't have that issue but I have seen several post popping up about wifi disconnects:
forums.oneplus net/threads/wifi-issues-with-my-oneplus.95359/
I posted already links about the yellow band but here is another one explaining why it is not glue and in fact a hardware issue as state Oneplus:

Battery issues:

Honestly, a lot of the 'issues' I've seen talked about are just people not knowing how to use their device, or something that is out of the control of OnePlus (Google Play Services battery drain problem).
Where are you getting this information about OnePlus not replacing devices? It simply isn't true. I've seen multiple people report that upon opening a ticket for a valid fault they've been given the option of a replacement or a refund.
Don't get me wrong, I've also seen people complain about pretty crap customer support from the company, but that isn't the only kind of experience that people are having. Talking in absolutes like that is just wrong, and isn't really very smart.

I like this phone but I don't know if i like it enough to have it for 2 years. With the iphone 8 and the Samsung s8 or note 8 coming next year makes me want to wait. I don't like how it doesn't have wireless charging and it doesn't have the camera stabilizer for taking pics, also no water protection. So with the people that have this phone please tell me what you think of it. Thabks all.
Wait. You are setting yourself up for a disappointment with all that you see wrong with the device before even buying it. And the price will drive you nuts with those shortcomings you find objectionable.

Here's a suggestion - make up your own mind instead of relying on other people. Not everyone has to like the same things for the same reasons.
Come on guys, I think you're being unfair. All of us who have bought the phone ought to write a review every time somebody is thinking about buying one and can't be bothered to read the comments and reviews already posted here and on youtube.
Realistically every phone is going to have certain shortcomings, and to me the Pixel looks like first-generation hardware with a top-tier asking price. After seeing the Pixel, I decided to buy the iPhone 7. That's when I found out Apple doesn't provide anything like an LED or ambient display to indicate waiting notifications. That one issue is worth the cost of a return for me, but apparently it's also acceptable to the people that bought the billion previous iPhones. The Pixel checks a lot of items off my interest list, and it misses some. Like other phones available today and in the future, there are areas where the Pixel does and does not compare favorably with other options. Ultimately I think it cost me $35 to find out that an LED notification is more personally important than waterproofing, image stabilization, or wireless charging.
I've been with Android since the HTC Droid Eris. Things are advancing so rapidly now, it is worse that trying to buy an up to date PC back in the day...by the time you got home someone had the specs of your brand new toy beat. It seems even worse now with smartphones. I find myself getting ever closer to a phone that tick all my wants. However, when that starts happening, everybody will keep the phone they have for two years instead of getting a new one every year. That won't help the sales plateau smartphones seem to be in. Today you have to be prepared for the phone you buy today to be one tier behind in a very short time. Just the way it is.
I have to say my new Pixel is the best smartphone I have ever used and it is not even close. I retired an LG V10. The V10 is about as far behind the Pixel as the Galaxy S4 was behind the V10. No it is not perfect, but no other top tier phone today is perfect either. If the Pixel is judged to be too expensive, then so are the rest of the top tier brands.
I'd say get it. Be careful with it and return it if you have some issue.
I have read tons or reviews but here is the thing, those reviews are a lot of the time done by people that wrote for a living and not the average person that is going to use this phone. Most of the time they write these reviews because they get all new phones shipped to them for free and not the average person that gets a new phone once every 2 years. I guess in all, I know what the reviews say and the YouTube videos look like but I wanted to know what the average person says about the phone. Not the expert says about the phone. Thabks.

Youre gonna wait every 6 months... Pixel 2 next year..
Personally I hold out until the next phone I buy has significant upgrades..
I went from Nexus 4 to Nexus 6 to LG G4 to LG v10 (I fell for the 2nd screen gimmick, but it wasnt anything more over the G4), skipped LG G5, skipped Nexus 6p, considered One plus 3, but Pixel Xl filled a few of the most important boxes for me.
Hype, bandwagon, fantastic screen that turns iPhone/samsung owner's heads, accessories, accessories, super active community, fast, fast loading camera ready to take a picture, unlimited cloud, build quality, looks and balance.
I'm hoping assistant, gps and navigation will work well as I use them a lot and most phones have worked ok, but fail..
Im still waiting on my preorder....
I am happy with T-Mobile giving a 325 dollar credit for this phone, so it's totally worth it for me.

Yup it is missing those, but if these bother you then don't buy it because it is an expensive phone and if you are not 100% satisfied with what it is offering then yep wait for the next big thing.
For me currently this is the best phone out there satisfying all my needs and desires, and also it was time to replace my aging Nexus 5. Loving the pixel
I'm in a boat whether to buy this phone or not.. Between pixel, oneplus 3 or xiaomi mi note 2. Not sure how roms will be for the pixel, so will wait and see how that pans out and reviews for the MI note 2

See that is a worthwhile upgrade. I went to an n5x so the pixel is not worth the cost. It just depends on where you're coming from.

Same here! I was going to pass on the Pixel because of the price but with that promo, I ordered two for me and the missus. A Pixel for $325 is an amazing deal!

Exactly what I thought, I almost purchased a 5x but decided to wait for the next nexus, didn't know that time that it was going to be a pixel, but yeah for me it is worth the upgrade. If i had purchased the 5x then I am pretty sure I would be in the same boat as you, lol for me even the freakin fingerprint scanner is an upgrade
To the op and others undecided. I think some have already covered it but I'll put in my $.02
I'm different than most that posted here. I like to buy/sell when new devices come out. There is no perfect phone for anyone. I also am not biased towards android or apple.
I have recently used moto x, moto x 2nd gen, htc m9, sony z3 compact, oneplus3, iphones 5s,6,6s,&7/7+
I'm currently using the oneplus 3, iphone 7, and just got the pixel yesterday.
All these phones have there advantages/disadvantages as previously mentioned.
There will always be something better around the corner. If you keep waiting, you'll be waiting forever. If you need a phone right now, best options in my opinion are the pixel, oneplus3, iphone 6s or 7, but that depends on your needs too. If you don't need a phone right now wait it out till you do.
Phones are somewhat similar to pcs right now. They are not really getting any faster for typical use, just better cameras typically and a few different options in the os.
The oneplus 3 imo is the best 5.5" android phone for the money. It's almost perfect for my needs but comes with some minor bugs and not the best speakers for music. $400, can't be beat by any phone and is the fastest android phone out i believe. It is faster than the pixel.
Pixel is a great phone. Fingerprint sensor location takes some getting used to. Android 7 and pixel launcher are nice but come with some bugs and lack of options. Phone can be laggy at times during normal use. Great deal if you get in on the t-mobile promo. I don't like the big top/bottom bezels but i can live with it. With future updates, this could be my new close to perfect phone.
IPhone 7 is nice but overhyped. Iphone 6s is just as good. Iphone 7 speakers and camera slightly better, maybe slightly faster but nothing like Apple claims.
You need to decide what you really want then pick the phone that best fits for the price you want yo pay.
If you want a cheap avg android phone, go with the oneplus 3. It's a great price and competes with the high end phones extremely well. Otherwise pony up. There are limited choices for a decent priced phone anymore and definitely typically come with drawbacks that I'm not willing to sacrifice.
Best of luck
I currently have the Samsung s7. I'm on Verizon. I ordered a pixel from Google because with the financing you can pay it off early. On Verizon Device payment plan you have to pay monthly or just pay the entire phone off at once.
I've been reading reviews and got impatient and ordered the phone from Verizon. I saw were you could get 20% off with the Save20 code but it didn't work for me because of my corporate discount. However, Verizon is giving trade in value for any phone. If I traded in my S7 I could get $300 but I want to keep it in case I don't like the pixel.
What I did was buy an iPhone 4 from ebay for $30. Verizon gave me a $200 credit for that phone and I ordered the 128gb pixel. So I got that phone for 750-200+30=$580. I think I paid $650 for my Nexus 6P 64gb last year.
Options that Verizon and tmobile offer make it a no brainer to get this phone. I think if Google had released this phone to all carriers or when they do you will have many people buying and loving this phone. That is the problem. Not what the phone is missing it's because people don't want to pull the trigger because of the price.

LOL. Thanks mate, you made my day!
I'm am average user but love pure android and had nearly all the Nexus phones and coming from the 6p to the pixel, have to say love it. Great camera, faster better in low light, phone is bonkers quick with excellent battery life and very crisp clear screen. Also easier to handle than my 6p. Very expensive but worth it? Just about.
