[4.3] Restore stock recovery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

OK, so I herped when I should have derped. I rooted with the towel and used ROM Manager to flash recovery. Oops.
Well, I want to restore stock recovery to update OTA and try safestrap to flash a custom TWRP ROM, but JOdin refuses to work on my *buntu machine.
Any suggestions? Is there an APK to remove custom recovery?

There is no uninstall recovery, but you could reflash the stock recovery or a full stock ROM.

[Q] Install CWM but SU doesn't work

I can't install CWM. I know there's that recovery installer apk but my transformer says there was a problem parsing the package. I don't know of any other way. I also tried unrooting my tablet by flashing a WW stock rom and stock recovery but Superuser stayed and it doesn't even work. It's basically all messed up. Can someone help me please?
Since you went back to stock ROM, do wipe data from boot menu and root again with Vipermod, and then try running the recovery installer apk.
What firmware are you on? That message is either a bad download or your firmware is not compatible with the apk.
Now you also say you flash WW ROM and stock recovery, how did you flash it without cwm?

8.2.3.13. I flashed them when I still had CWM and fully rooted.

Yeah you flashed the repacked ROM. That's pretty outdated firmware. You need to manually update to the latest ICS (if it doesn't auto update), use ViperMod to root and RecoveryInstaller for CWM.

How do I manually update? Is that when you go into settings and stuff and check to see if you have the latest software? Cause I do that and it says that I already have the latest version.
I tried updating manually but it didn't work. I guess I should include that I tried deleting the superuser files from /system/bin/su and /system/xbin/su. I deleted the one in the xbin because there wasn't one in the bin. It's still messed up.

and i have a question can i install a rom with a stock recovery
You'll need a custom recovery to install a ROM. Follow these instructions and you'll be good to go:

Delete or rename /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and flash CWM one last time. It'll stick. Each boot, stock ROMs reflash the stock recovery unless you delete/rename that file.

[HELP] Root motorola XT925 with 4.4.2 OTA update

Hello it's been several days i can't find a solution to my problem. I flash official RTFR 4.1.2 via RDS Lite and then i upgrade to Kitkat 4.4.2 via OTA update.
When my phone reboot i have The Unlocked Bootloader Warning logo on the screen, but i lost the root.
This is the version i have: 180.46.127.XT925.CEE-Retail.en.EU.
I did install a recovery (Philz Touch, CWM,) but when i reboot to recovery it was not working and i had the google Droid with a red triangle.
I'd like to know if it is possible to root my phone in order to flash the CM12 ROM? Or with this official update i'm stuck with 4.4.2 and won't be able to root?
Thanks for your help.
When you install a custom recovery after taking the OTA, the recovery will usually ask you to disable stock recovery restore. If you don't, then the stock recovery will be reinstated upon next boot. Once you've got a custom recovery installed and disabled the stock recovery, you should be able to root it from there. Most modern recoveries will handle both the disabling of stock recovery restoration and install root (su) for you.
I know the one I use does.

When i installed the recovery it didn't ask me to disable stock recovery restore. Where do i get that request, on my phone or on my PC? Which custom recovery that allow me to disable the stock recovery do you recommand?
After you install recovery, immediately power off your phone, boot straight back into recovery (not the OS, otherwise stock recovery will over ride the aftermarket recovery), once in recovery the update script will complete and the installation will be complete. Once in the recovery, you can choose the option that CW mentioned.

Uninstaller not working. It looks like the ROM (thor v2) already modifies the boot, so it's not working without root. It's bootlooping to recovery screen. Is it?

Its pre rooted so there is no boot.IMG to revert to. I thought the su uninstaller would remove itself from the boot. Just use a different ROM bro
