I tried flashing stock recovery but it fails all the time...So i might be installing wrong stock recovery...GT-920F
If anyone could send me stock recovery i would really appreciate that.

[Q] CWM Flashable pure-stock rom

Is there a "pure stock" CWM flashable ROM? I'm returning my Skyrocket and am hesitant to Odin it just for the continual discussion of the counter...
That said, all I really need to do is get pure stock rom back on it, and then flash stock recovery as a last step with CWM..
Any one know if something like this exists?
Frankly, no

I'm not sure it would be possible to flash stock revovery with CWM when the stock recovery you are flashing (3e) is replacing cwm. I'm pretty sure that is why stock recovery is flashed via Odin.

You can flash the stock 2.3.6 KK1 rom/kernel taken from the ATT OTA back in November via CWM... completely stock but is rooted... then use Odin to flash the stock 3e Recovery partition. Flashing recovery partition via odin does not trip the custom binary flash counter... I've done it multiple times and my counter is still "No" (i.e., zero). Then you'll have stock rom, kernel, and 3e recovery... just need to unroot. Flashing a kernel (boot.img) via odin will trip the counter.

Rooted stock rom ICS 4.0.4 but...

Let's say I want to flash a rom and made a backup thru CWM of my stock rom will I be able to keep root if I flash it back to the stock rom ?
II'm doing this cause I care most about no auto brightness issue than the actual advantage to go with a custom rom.
Thanks
Why don't you just root your stock ROM then? You need to be rooted to flash CWM recovery anyways..

If your ROM is already rooted, and you're restoring it from CWM, yes. If you're using fastboot to re-flash the stock ROM, no, you'll have to re-root it.
I'm kind of confused about what you're asking, though. Can you give more specific details? Are you going to flash a different ROM and try to flash the stock ROM, or parts of it, on top of the new ROM? I wouldn't do that unless you're very sure of what you're doing.

[4.3] Restore stock recovery

OK, so I herped when I should have derped. I rooted with the towel and used ROM Manager to flash recovery. Oops.
Well, I want to restore stock recovery to update OTA and try safestrap to flash a custom TWRP ROM, but JOdin refuses to work on my *buntu machine.
Any suggestions? Is there an APK to remove custom recovery?

There is no uninstall recovery, but you could reflash the stock recovery or a full stock ROM.

Stock recovery

Just used Bump and forgot to backup the stock recovery, well I need to flash the stock recovery back...anyone have it by chance? What would be my options?
Thanks!
Uhm, you do realize Bump! installs a new recovery, right? I don't understand why you would need the stock recovery....
I'm planning on returning it and wanted to return it to 100% stock, so I'd need the stock recovery and not TWRP
just flash back to stock and youll be good to go, as in flash the entire device back to stock.
Thanks, I didn't really want to flash back to stock but it's easy enough...figured I would just flash the recovery. Oh well...moving on...
Stock recovery will be needed for future ota's. If anyone dares to take it.

How do i flash recovery for the gt-p5110?

Dear xda community,
I recently have been given a gt-p5110 to play around with.
Sadly i have not succeed in flashing a rom onto it...
I have some basic knowledge on flashing rom's but so far I hadn't had much luck...
I plan on flashing slimrom7 but I can't even get a proper recovery flashed...
I have tried flashing TWRP recovery using ODIN.
Even tough it says that the recovery is flashed successfully it doesn't appear to be working...
I also tried using ADB but I couldn't maintain a stable connection...
Hopefully someone is able to help me!
Kind regards,
Kevin Jansen.
After flashing with Odin you need to directly boot into TWRP, else stock rom restores stock recovery at boot.
How?

Thanks for your reply,
How would I do this??
And do you know where I can find the original stock rom + recovery in case I would like to restore it to stock?
Kind regards,
Kevin Jansen.
Uncheck auto reboot in Odin.
After flashing wait 1 minute.
Disconnect your tablet from PC.
Boot recovery.
That's it
Stock firmware (.tar.md5) most of the time includes stock recovery.img. the .tar.md5 can be flashed with odin too.
you should find stock firmware here for your Device: http://samsung-updates.com
