CM11s runns super fast, best os i had so far. Better than Color OS (had a find 5 now for a year and color os is still beta and laggy) Build quality is on top. Everything works fine exept Audio is a little bit low on calls. Screen on time is about 4,5h. Price is perfekt. I would by it everytime again

What about yellow screen issue
Sent from my ST25i using XDA Free mobile app

yes its a little bit, its not clear white, but i can tell you on my nexus 4 in the past the screen was way more yellow.
In my point of view its not disturbing

The yellow tint at the bottom oft the screen is a hardware issue i would not buy this phone until this problem will be solved.

Actually for most devices its just unsettled glue. Google about it, it happens to most smartphone devices that don't sit long enough after assembly. Even the iPhone suffered from this but it fixes its self over time.

What exactly does screen bleeding effect

I just bought a g2x today. Didn't notice the screen bleed until I read about it. Just wondering what this does or the negative effect it has on my phone.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Yeah. It makes people complain... Other than that I think it's just cosmetic...
Sent from my butt using XDA Premium App
It just might be that my phone doesn't have screen bleeding as severe as other phones, but if I didn't read about it I probably wouldn't have noticed.
Yea that's what I'm thinking. I didn't hear about a single problem with the phone until I got it lol. Idk how bad mine is in relation to others but I don't want to exchange it and get one that's worse
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
And is this something that can get progressively worse?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Mine hasn't got any worse. I didn't notice til I read it on xda. I've had mine since release date and I love mine.

No it does not affect usability at all. Some have posited that when Gingerbread gets released it will be more noticable on its dark notification bar. Some have also complained that their screen bleed has progressed to "bars" but I've only seen that a few times. I think virtually everyone will tell you it's a non issue.
That said, IMO, it is the lack of a real response that is indicative of the biggest issue of all. That being the lack of real support. People are getting them replaced, but that's it. I just want a phone that works. I have had a lot of issues. Getting a new one every two weeks is no fun. I'm in limbo now. I'm sick of re-entering everything....I really am. I just want a phone that works all the time with full functionality.Just get a new one is fine....but this is stupid.

So am I lol. Not with G2x but other phones. I am just looking for one that works. I need an international phone. I want one with a ffc to video chat to home. I want to future proof my device and I am doing that with a ffc, 4g, and a dual core processor. Its not an issue for me but I dont want it to become one.
not a thing, just crazy people having to have something to complain about. it really isn't serious at all.

Im using Cm7 right now and it has a black bar on top and I notice that the side with light bleed looks a little washed out compared to the rest of the bar. You notice it even if its not dark but probably not if the lights are really bright

the colors on this thing look beautiful and I'm wondering if when gb comes with its black status bar will things start to look a little off.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The effect is purely cosmetic and is a result of the sort of screen the G2x uses. Most phones use a LED screen, particularly AMOLED and Super AMOLED. The G2x uses an LCD screen, which is what most TVs use.
LCD screens are much, much brighter (my old AMOLED screen's optimum brightness in daylight was 100%, this one is 25%) and displays colors with much more vibrance, but it doesn't handle black very well. Turn on your television in a dark room to an empty channel (like DVD when the dvd player isn't on) and you'll see the same effect.
Personally, I don't mind. In fact, I prefer the LCD: the brightness and color is more than good enough to offset the bleed.

After using the leaked 2.3.3 update, I can tell you that it definitely does look odd, but only when you're in a pitch-black room.
That's what I was worried about. Are you going to keep it? I'm trying to debate if I will or not. I do not really want the sensation

What is 1.5 and 1.7?
And as far as yellowish screen is concerned, I also have this issue with my phone (S3). I read some other users also reported it.
When viewing the screen, it looks a bit yellowish, however if i tilt it a bit forward or backward, the yellowish color goes away and white looks bright and pure white.
My phone also has JB. I got this phone already upgraded to JB, so not sure whether the same thing was on ICS or not.

1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4, 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S3.
I have the S4 and I have no problems with the colours from the display, white is definitely white, just the bloody RGBG display that HTC fitted is my only complaint with the screen.

Oh okay, he was talking about the processors . I thought some software version he was talking about.
Anyway it seems that some units have this yellowish screen issue, I read somewhere one S4 user also had a same issue with his phone's display. I have S3 phone, and same issue.
And what is wrong with RGBG display? I mean what change does this type of display do?

I reckon it's just Samsung sending HTC some dodgy displays. Luck of the draw I suppose, the processor plays no part.

http://www.wikitech.hu/uploads/2012/01/rgb-stripe-vs-rgbg-vs-rgbw-pentile.png < This is a image of digital screen display matrix'. The top one is the conventional display that the large majority of all digital displays use. The bottom two are Samsung's new PenTile displays. The main purpose of them is to save battery (which is why most people were staggered by the battery life of the One S on stock ICS). Basically, you only got 2/3 of a pixel on each pixel, because either red or blue has been sacrificed. The HTC One S has the middle one, the bottom one is used on a couple of Motorolas, the point of that display is to give superior performance in bright light.
Yeah seems processor has nothing to do with yellowish display. Only some units have it and unfortunately my phone is one of them. I do not like the yellowish screen, white looks beautiful.
And thanks for the display info

You could purchase a LCD screen made for the HTC Sensation/Sensation XE. Same screen size, same resolution, fits into the slot, and it is a proper RGB display, so you will notice the difference. Your battery life will decrease a little bit though, and obviously, the warranty is void if you open the phone up (although you have probably already made it void by unlocking the bootloader)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HTC-SENSA...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item2ebce9c4b1 £19.95 from eBay, although it is debatable whether you would trust something from eBay.

Well, instead of changing the display, i would rather prefer a new phone. I recently got this phone (in feb), quite satisfied with its overall performance except the display and some lags in games (esp subway surfer, most others run smoothly) in JB update. But that is okay now. Will use this phone for coming months then i might think of getting a new one. May be nexus 4 or some other phone.

I would definitely get the HTC One (M7 version). That will be a mighty beast of a phone. However, my Business Studies teacher has the Nexus 4, and he uses it for the projector, and that thing is lightning quick. For the price that it is available at direct from Google play, you definitely cannot go wrong.

Htc one would be expnsive for me. I prefer a mid ranged phone. If SGS III price drops a bit more, i would probably get it.
Nexus 4 isnt officially available in Pakistan, but local dealers have it. But right now it is a bit over priced here in Pakistan. Its price is dropping, and hopefuly will adjust in next few months. In fact one of the jnline shops (in Pakistan) also recommended to wait if u want to get it in good price.

If amazon or play.com do deliveries to Pakistan, then I would definitely check both of them if I were you. You won't find many legitimate offers cheaper than on them two websites.

[Q] Screen light leakage?

There are two gray spots near the top edge of the screen and at the center of the status bar.
Is this the so-called "light leakage" problem? Does anyone have this problem?
I am very disappointed in Google/LG.
IPS screens are known for notorious light bleed. In sorry you're disappointed that you phone that costs half as much as every competing phone has a bit of bleeding. You need to understand that since this isn't a full price phone you're not going to get an A+ quality panel. Those are reserved for iPhone. They post extra for A+. We get A- stock which will likely have minor but not critical defects.

Is anyone's 311k model screen losing yellow tint?

Just received my replacement nexus 5, 311k with larger speaker holes and like everyone else my screen is super yellow and looks terrible. Has anyone screen cooled down and lost the yellow tint over time or is that just a myth? Also does faux's gamma control app fix that?

Now that you mention it, when I first got my N5 it did seem a little yellowish. After a few weeks either my eyes have adjusted or its gotten better

The screen will get better after a bit. Its a case of your eyes adjusting to it and whatever glue that needs to dry (which is beyond me). Mine is a 311k as well and the yellow tint has definitely decreased. I also have faux's kernel and its kernel app has a gamma patch that helps with increasing certain colors over others.
Sent from my rooted stock Nexus 5 using XDA Premium. God I love this phone.
You will get use to it. My second N5 was much more yellow then the first one I had. Barley notice a thing now that I have gotten use to it. :good:
Just to throw it out there for anyone I received my initial N5 311k model and it had problem with the power button so I RMA'd it and got a replacement with the new hardware (bigger speaker holes) and like some people seem to notice the screen on the new device was extremely yellow and warm. I let it sit for a while overnight and turned the screen on every once in a while to the white background of Google now and overnight and the more I used it the screen lost its yellow tint and cooled down, so it seemed to have gone away by itsself...just posting for anyone else who might have the same issue

FYI..
nexus 5 have two version display , That's normal.
and if you have tune color , flash custom kernel Franko r23 and install app N5 Gamma Testand , then tune colors like you want

good question, anyone else have any update on this?
Why does everybody blame the glue. Issues with glueing are commonly seen as small yellow circles in the corners of the screen.
A completely yellow tinted screen for an extended period of time will almost certainly be a calibration issue.
No screen is identical and lg will not individually calibrate every single device.
Either RMA it or look into fauxs calibration app

Why does everyone call 311k a model? Its not. Its hardware rev_11 like all other nexus 5's!

Creak/squeak during vibration

Hello everybody, I wrote this also in the official OPO forum, but nobody seems to have my problem. Basically when the phone vibrates (during typing, with notifications or anything else), most of the times I can hear a sort of creak/squeak coming from the phone, probably corresponding to the vibrating mechanism inside the phone. If I try to push through the back cover nothing happens, it's very solid and does not squeak as my old Nexus 5 did. It seems like something coming from the inside. I think it could be related to the vibrating mechanism touching somewhere on the motherboard or any other piece of hardware inside the phone.
Anyone else has the same problem? That's quite disappointing
Hey there,
Oddly enough I have noticed the same thing. Not sure if its worth me kicking a stink up over it or not yet.
Just received my OPO today and I have the same issue. I had this issue on some Nokia 920 and some older HTC phones. After doing a warranty replacement on those devices the problem went away. Its definitely a hardware issue in my opinion.
Still deciding if I want to keep this phone. Also have the yellow hue problem at the bottom of the phone and some very dim capacitive touch screen buttons.
Its a shame. I'm really enjoying this phone for other reasons.

1) The yellow hue at the bottom of the screen is supposed to go away over time.
2) The capacitive buttons are intended to be dim so that's definitely not a defect.
Sent from my One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thank you for the quick response. After using the phone for the past couple of hours it seems the yellow hue has already gone done. Either that or my eyes are adjusting to it.
I wish you could adjust the brightness of the buttons. Maybe a future software update will fix that. I also have turned off the capacitive button but you lose some screen real estate by doing that.
