when playing any game, even light games

that was our core GPU clockspeed is slow. our phone using gpu adreno 203 with 320mhz at max speed.
try root your phone and install entropy fixer or seeder, this MAY BE help get rid a little bit lag in our phone. But.. of course when we root our phone we will break our warranty
If you want warranty back, you must reset your flash counter with triangle away app and then flash your stock firmware with SAME FIRMWARE VERSION
Soory for bad english

[i9003 GUIDE]how to get the Lag fix ^^

Firstly it is not my responsibility if your your phone gets bricked or whatever.
On the lighter side, ive done this on my own phone and im getting a quadrant score of 1900+
OK
1) You need to be rooted to continue so go here if you have'nt already rooted your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987169
you also need to have about 820mb free space
NOTE: do remember to restart your phone once after the rooting is complete
2)you need to get one click lagg fix by Kryptyx from the market
3) After downloading the app open it...it will check for the available options
4)Click on "Install EXT2 tools" and let it install the stuff
Now after the process is complete we need to go back to the options page
5) Now we have to choose ONE CLICK LAGG FIX V1+ (NOT v2.2) otherwise your phone will get corrupted.
let the settings be the default ones(leave them as they are)
Thats it!! Hopefully now you'll have better optimised phone
YOU WILL BE DOING IT ON YOUR OWN RISK AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHATEVER HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE
feel free to ask any questions as this must be done strictly according to the instrctions
Best of luck
Thank me if i helped you ^^!
frankly useless unless you want to spike your quadrant scores..........sgsl doesnt need a lagfix.
and be warned removing the lagfix might be a real headache.
thanks for guide
Have you noticed any difference ?
i know there are occasional lags in i9003 does it remove them completely ?

there are no occasional lags unless you open too many apps together & leave them open, in which case the ram usage goes too high & any phone will lag.
I am on DdKb1 no lagfix applied.

Hmm il try to remove it just for kicks and see if its easily removable!
plus if we flash the same firmware again it will undo thelagfix right? or the update wont be possible?Plus a factory reset would do the trick or not?

I read it in i9000 posts somewhere that lagfix should be removed while flashing else it bricks the phone.
I do see occasional lags if i have a few apps open but i never let my ram usage go over 368mb. is this normal ?

its hard to remove the thing totally.the process leaves traces.i did this quite sometime back. uninstalling the app doesnot help either when you reinstall it it shows you things are still installed.the fix changes the boot animation of the sgsl and even a reset from the recovery mode didnot get the old animation back.all in all i personally donot think the lagfix helped at all except for massive spikes in the quadrant score.i had to reflash to remove it completely mainly because it had some problem with my vplayer app.video playback on vplayer became choppy after the lagfix.
if you want a more zippy ui i would suggest you give a shot at more lightweight launchers.
Nice guide will try it

You are so right ....it took a whjile but i did it....after 3 hours of frustration i was sucessfully able to unistall and reinstall it
if anyone wants to know how to uninstall it then tell me....
Maybe you can edit your first post and put the un-installation guide along with it.
It'll save time and will be convinient to find installation & un-installation steps side by side for our fellow i9003 users.

Why lagfix is useless on SGSL ?
@ritvik
Plz post your Antutu benchmark results. Quadrant results are prone to inflation and are not real tests. Fugutweak is an example.

Modify minfree values to have fast and stable phone. Remove task killers.

Told you all lagg fix is worth it.....plus i now know how to reverse it so its even safer(took me a whole day to figure out)
By the way gingerbread go released for some region of sgs .....hopefully it will be released for us too ....everyone's saying its very speedy
ok the whole result.................the latest one i did gave me 2151
and
memory: 350
CPU Integer: 630
2D Graphics :168
CPU Float :150
3D Graphics : 347
Database io: 225
sdcard write 104
sd card read 177
Hmmm....
Your SD card speeds are making a lot of difference alongwith Database I/O which is due to lag fix. Plz compare your results with others in related thread.

really didnot notice any difference with the lagfix installed.....atleast on realtime performance.never had any lag issues with my sgsl till now(maybe because i use very few widgets) so didnt see any use for the lagfix at all.
but now according to ritvik antutu scores goes up.............so might be something to it.but contradictory to his statement i remember another sgsl user "trip007in" stating he didnot notice any difference in scores while trying antutu with the lagfix.

You realy have 2 options :
1. Go to warranty with it (if you have one)
2. If you don't have warranty just flash android 2.3.4 and I assure you that this will be fixed

Bulls**t.
From the 5 SGS+ users I know, every single one of them (including me) has the sceen/menu lag problem, and we all have different Android versions, 2.3.3, 2.3.4, not to mention different branding.
I contacted Samsung and they can't (or won't) fix it.

A reason might be a underclock of the processor in order to increase the battery life. You might want to install ROM Toolbox and check at what frequency is the processor working (the device will need to be rooted)
You can also check if the processor is getting hot >43 degrees(battery booster on the market can help you with that)
Please reply with response and if my post helped press on thanks
I tried using different launchers - didn't help.
As to the processor frequency thing - it might very well be the case, since the screen wakes up instantly when I'm listening to music (so using more processor power).
I'll check that out as soon as I figure out how to flash 2.3.4

I'l advise you on how to flash it...give me a PM when you are available
2.3.4 not yet available ota
After Upgrading to 2.3.4 rooting and removing twlauncher I have no lag problems any more, ADW, Launcher Pro and Zeam are all working just fine. I know of others that have upgraded to 2.3.4 and still have a 2s lag when waking the phone so IMHO removing twlauncher may be key....
Yeah, but by removing TW, won't Kies stop working?
ETA:
After rooting my phone and installing CPU Master, I can honestly say it is, as mentioned before, because of the CPU.
It's usually down to 250mhz ondemand when sleeping, and when i bumped it up to 800 performance, it instantly turned on, no delay.
Well I personally don't see the need for Kies apart from providing the USB drivers so that doesn't really bother me...... but if you were a big Kies user then I guess that would be a show stopper .....

Personally I didn't remove TWLAUNCHER but just froze it(in case I need it later). I also made a backup with it and installed go launcher. I am very satisfied.
Edit : application is Titanium Backup (I think the best application there is for android)
I did what you said, and it still hasn't changed the screen sleep lag.
It might be a tad bit quicker, but not a lot.
This is a duplicate thread with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1284850
Basically there is nothing you can do except increase your cpu frequency which will decrease (drastically) your battery life.
I'm afraid that I can't agree with it being a CPU frequency scaling issue. My CPU frequency is also going down to 245Mhz on no or low demand and I have no lag...

Mikolas is refering to the delay the phone has when trying to unlock it. It takes about 2.5 seconds for the screen to turn on.
I also have no lag when waking up the phone .... after pressing home or power I get the lock screen in under a second. BTW if I monitor the current CPU frequency with setCPU then I can see it scale the frequency down to 245 while the screen ist still on and experience no lags when resuming phone use ..... if your experiencing lags of 2.5s then IMHO it must have another cause.

[Q] HTC One X Games - Low FPS

Hello,
I dont know if Im writting to correct subthread,
I was reading a lot of topics about it..
I bough that phone when it was released and I was happy that I got most powerful smartphone, but then I started playing games on it and everything was bad..
Some super graphic games like Shadowzone, Dead Trigger, Dead Space and Epic Citadel are without even little lag (+30-60FPS), but games like GTA Vice City or today released Dungeon Hunter 4 .. they are un-playable for me on my stock HTC One X even at lowest graphic settings.
I was reading that application on google play will let me boost CPU Frequency and my games will be lag free.
I just need to root my phone download that app boost my cpu freq. and play? Or I need to do anything else or do u have any recommendation for me?
Hows your HTC One X doing for gaming?
Thanks!

Root your device.
Download setCPU or Any other cpu app like the one you gave link of.
In the app choose interactive governor.
This will be helpful. But if you want better performance use gaming boost app, too.
More info available at the link I gave you.
Pretty simple but very helpful.

You can install ota's after root, just do NOT remove any system apps ! And after applying the root with the custom recovery you need to flash back the corresponding STOCK recovery.
When you UNLOCK the bootloader you will be put back to full factory stock, so yes. Nothing will be erased by applying root itself
You can however make backups of the stuff you need from the stock rom with the app called CARBON.
hope this helps you

The hox goes to 1500 mhz not just a 1000 .... But when all 4 cores are enabled they go up to max 1300 if i recall this right. To get real lag free you can install a custom kernel that allows unlocking the 4 cores to 1500 mhz at the same time.
There are even kernels that go up to 1700 mhz

Well I bough that phone because it was labeled as Most powerfull machine in 2012. It cost me 650 dollar and I though I will run every game on highest setting with lag-free experience .. and whoaa I cant play everygame and almost every third game is lagging on my HOX. I will buy iPhone as next phone really. This is ridicilous.
When its that strong why my HOX cant run these games without lag?
I saw a lot of videos of HOX running GTA Vice city on full graphic without lags and I cant even run it on minimal without frame drops. Why HTC dont include firmware to fix this? Its not in hardware its not in game its about HTC firmware.
Im quite noob in these kernels roms etc.. I dont want to break my phone it was quite expensive for me. I also want to update from oficial HTC server to prevent bricking my phone.
I think its more about the games being unoptimized for the t3 rather than the t3 itself.
Shadowzone used to be one of the games that lagged badly.

I see many ppl using Linaro Rom..I really need to know if it is stable and good for daily use..currently I am on Carbon-JB-v 1.8 [4.2.2]. But I dont get much of a battery backup. My main usage is calls, whatsapp n music. Apart from battery i face a familiar issue that while listening to music it gets hanged suddenly n player doesnt respond anymore. I ultimately have reboot it twice to make it work which is very annoying as I am hard core music lover ..So I actually want to know if Linaro (which many r appreciating) or any rom in JB with good battery life n no prob with playing music is available or not.
I am a noob here so need a lil help from u guys:good: Please give me some suggestions n reviews

Hi, everything seems to work and untill know it is the best rom for me! I did face with nasty SOD`s and these are gone to NOT let the processor run at 300Mhz (use a CPU app for that). When Cpu is set to minimum 600Mhz there are no problems with SOD. Short battery lenght is an issue. I hope the new version will fix it.

[Q] OPO lag on CM11S

Hi everybody, I have my OPO for now 2 months. I can say that it's a good phone , I never had a big issues with it ( some lag now and then) but the thing is that I installed a game , Supersonic, and I can't play it because of the lags even if the phone is set on to the performance profile. I checked some videos on internet and the game is really fluent on a Samsung SII.
Do I need to use LagFix to increase the performance of the phone ? Is LagFix compatible with the OPO? because otherwise it can brick my phone.
