Hi everybody, I have my OPO for now 2 months. I can say that it's a good phone , I never had a big issues with it ( some lag now and then) but the thing is that I installed a game , Supersonic, and I can't play it because of the lags even if the phone is set on to the performance profile. I checked some videos on internet and the game is really fluent on a Samsung SII.
Do I need to use LagFix to increase the performance of the phone ? Is LagFix compatible with the OPO? because otherwise it can brick my phone.

EDIT:
I fixed the problem moving from the stock kernel to Franko Kernel r18 !! I didn't test that much but first impression the phone doesn't lag anymore + no heat while browsing.

HY, a little bit of worming is not unusuall since phones dont have a cooler, installing a new kernell wont help a lot, ROMS can help by using less memory and by that helping the processor work less,my advice is to remain at the stock rom,and also dont be scary about the heat,PLEASE PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED.
The heat shouldn't be a problem unless you're trying to play a game in your microwave. My SII gets as hot as yours bit as long as your usage remains normal, don't worry.
If this answer helped you in any way, hit the thanks button.

Hi,
I'm using a Xperia J with Cyanogenmod 10.1(month ago installed) and the NeutronMP, because I have some 24 Bit/96kHz flacs, which only NeutronMP undestands them. The little better Quality is a reason too. But every time, when I'm using this, i get some heavy lags and most of the time listening to music isn't very nice.
Firstly, what's the reason for that? Too low CPU/RAM, low performance on sd card? Every time I've looked in task manager, it seems to be (relative) normal. In addition, i haven't got any performance hungry apps running in background.
Secondly, how can I reduce this? What would be most effective?
Thanks in advance,
Lg
CM 10.1 for J was never stable stick to CM 10 and don't use that crappy audio engine

Do you mean Neutron with "crappy audio engine"? I Haven't found a alternate player, so i can't choose.
I will install CM 10 later. Other things i could do?
thanks anyway.
EDIT: furthermore, i think "that crappy audio engine" is the reason, it can play all of my files.

I stuck with stock when I got my J, I did however flash a new kernel to allow me to overclock to 1.3ghz. Do a search for vengence kernel and flash that. Don't flash the newest one though, stick with v1.40 (later versions do not have oc facility)
You see, most people think OC actually speeds up their phone, well it doesn't. Only wastes battery, get CM 10 and use Riches Kernel or use my ROM if you want a stable and fast jellybean.
Of course overclocking speeds up the phone. You are increasing your CPU speed to the maximum that the hardware will allow. Yes there will be slightly less battery life, but that's a given. Its swings and roundabouts. Personally I find that there isn't a noticeable difference in mine (I still get 2 days on regular usage), but with the extra 300MHz I get from overclocking I no longer have the heavy lagging I had on the stock kernel. If there are no benefits from oc, how do you explain all the tests that prove you wrong?

Thanks for your ideas, i will test both versions. But i don't know really, what exact is too less.
EDIT: btw, I've installed CM 10, and it isn't really better. But anyway, i didn't thought it would change the world.
which rom you installed CM 10.1 ?

Now I have installed this one: [projectfreexperia/download/cyanogen-mod-10] (FXP248). I thought, i had installed this one: [projectfreexperia/download/cyanogen-mod-10-1], but i can't find the package; so it could also have been this: [projectfreexperia/download/cyanogen-mod-10-2] (FXP248).
But it really doesn't matter, what of these versions I had installed, because they have all the same (bad) performance for my NeutronMP. Right?
If you wanted to stick with cm10, I think that Rom supports the vengeance kernel so you could get the best of both worlds

so you tell us, you installed unsupported CM 10.1 / 10.2 & your phone is laggy & not working it;s functions ?
i loled , because you installed unsupported CM versions to your phone & says its very laggy lol
be careful next time, because maybe it'll end with soft brick or hard brick like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550937 ( phone main board change after he installed that rom )
There are many more ways to improve a phone's performance
Install A Custom Rom,
Mods like Supercharger or Crossbreeder which benfit battery life
OCing is not bad but it is also not beneficiary for the device

My phone only is lagging, when I'm using NeutronMP, never with other apps. (I don't use other performance hungry apps like games, but anyway.)
I asked this, because I've had the same problems when I've used NeutronMP with the stock android.
@ all: thanks for your replies.
Hey Guys!

when playing any game, even light games
that was our core GPU clockspeed is slow. our phone using gpu adreno 203 with 320mhz at max speed.
try root your phone and install entropy fixer or seeder, this MAY BE help get rid a little bit lag in our phone. But.. of course when we root our phone we will break our warranty
If you want warranty back, you must reset your flash counter with triangle away app and then flash your stock firmware with SAME FIRMWARE VERSION
Soory for bad english

Hi there,
I am sort of new to rooting and have never installed a custom android operating system or ROM yet. I would like to put on something with Android 5.0 if possible, but if none are out yet, which is the best ROM to put on my LG G3, and a tutorial to do it?
I want to use all of the eatures of the phon still as well.
Are there lollipop ROMS out yet for this phone, and if not should I wait for it?
Thank for your help.

I too am using Cloudy and find that the top half of the phone doesn't heat up as much. There's an eco mode you can turn on as well. Not sure it that's what's going the trick, but I've kept it on because the battery life is great now.
As for the lag, have you tried flashing Pure Performance X? It's made all the ROMs I've tried snappier (including Cloudy).

I'm using Viper for my third day now. The first day the battery drained really fast as google processes was raelly active, but the last two days ive gotten over 4 hours of screen on time easily and it's definitely been an improvement over stock for me. I havent played any games but phone did not get hot watching youtube vids.
I am not familiary with pure performance X, looks interesting though.
Hi,
I played with many Nexus S. I had one when they were new and my memory is that it was a good phone. Since then, I've played with 3-4 of them and every time, they were so slow, having lags of almost a minute on many touch of button. I've used Quadrant benchmark and everytime, I see that everything is normal except I/O. I've read many thread about that and they suggest that it has something to do with kernel. (most of the phone I used were using CyanogenMod, an OS I used since the beginning with almost all my phones (I have had a lot of them and always play with alternatives OS)).
My current phone died and I took back an old Nexus S and it is so frustrating to experience all those lags. I returned it back to Stock (official 4.1.2 image from google). I only flashed a recovery and rooted the phone after. What was my surprise to experience major lags and run the benchmark and see that I/O performance are still so low.
How are you living with your phone ? Is it fixable ?
Thanks to read me.
Looking forward to read from you guys

Hi There
If you are a die heart fan of Nexus S you must know that in Nexus S battery sucks.
So I can suggest you to run your device on Stock GB or ICS as i runs quite fast on them and gives a descent battery backup.

If you are a fan of Nexus S you must know that Battery in Nexus S sucks. So i must prefer to Get back to Stock GB or ICS on Nexus S . It runs a bit fast on them and battery life is also maximized.
Otherwise root your device and install any custom rom Of GB r ICS with a bit good tweaks so that you dont feel outdated.
And then find a good kernel for Nexus S which maximizes its Battery Life.
Goood Luck..!
