Whatever u do requires an unlocked bootloader n unlocking it will void ur warranty and u can relock the boot loader but that will not bring back the warranty since boot loader unlock key has to be obtained from Motorola's website

Yes...rooting requires an unlocked bootloader. Other than voiding the warranty, there's no prob unlocking it...it doesn't void the warranty if u r on a developer edition gpe device.

The Moto G ROM is so close to stock that this would be pointless. Is it worth voiding your warranty? I don't think so.

What do you mean? The Moto G ROM runs the stock launcher as default, you don't have anything to do nor anything to install to use it.

-We can install rom without unlock bootloader through RUU
-After unlock bootloader, I think you damaged warranty
You can install a ROM through an RUU, but not a custom one.
All roms? And root permessions? Guide?
Thanks
No..root is only with unlocked..guide in development section.
And in your opinion is Coocked rom better than original stock rom??? Guide?
There are some benefits to running custom rom depends on which one and people will vary on this its truly an opinion based thing. Also the warranty 'may' be void if you do. If it's an issue they deem related to the software you installed you're probably not going to be covered by warranty but if it's a hardware issue you should be covered

Sure, some custom rom are more smooth and fast of stock. If you have branded phone, with custom rom you can install the rom without the bloatware.

Dude, I'm sorry, this is going to come off rude, but i have to say, with the time you are spending asking for a guides, you could have spent two seconds in the development section and found what you are looking for. There are "stickies" for a reason!
can you link me a guide?
if i flash a rom the waranthy can be recupered?
uppppppppppppp
My friend had a custom rom, the phone break and they replaced the phone without issues. If your are afraid its better not no install
Sent from my GT-I5510 using xda app-developers app
Let me explain, the problem is that the paint is flaking! if I unlock the bootloader to obtain root permissions, then I lost guarantee and therefore I did not replace (or wrong?).
if the problem is hardware, with bootloader unlocked is the same thing?
PS: I can not send time and unlock it later, because I would stay without Android and without phone and I could not!

If it says 'unlock not allowed" you simply cannot unlock it. And at the moment you can't install custom roms or kernels, but no need to worry about that for now. I mean you just wanna flash an ftf here? so yeah go ahead.
If you need a guide on how to do it, refer to this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337955

[Q] How to go back to latest stock ROM?

Hi. I just got my Moto G few days ago and I unlocked bootloader, rooted etc. So because of unlocking bootloader I guess I will not be able to get official motorola updates any more. My phone arrived with kk already, but I had some OTA update as soon as I turned the phone on and now it runs on 176.44.1.falcon_utms.Retail.en.GB. Now I want to explore some custom ROM-s and my question is how to go back to this ROM my phone is running on right now from custom rom? In this link http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14 I can see that the latest ROM I can flash is Blur_Version.174.44.9.falcon_umts.Retail.en.GB. As 176 is higher than 174 I guess that my phone is running on latter ROM.
In general, is there a way to update to latest stock ROM-s from Motorola after unlocking the bootloader?
Yes you can! I recently flash that particular UK ROM and even though it was 4.4.2 I still got an OTA update which had "rare network drops, low sound and etc" in the changelogs, so I'd assume it's the same one you mentioned earlier in your post. Also, I should mention that I didn't receive said update on my Retail Asia ROM or on GPE ROM (that's what I'm currently on). So in the nutshell, unlocking bootloader doesn't stop OTA updates rooting does.
That is good to know, thank you, but why would rooting itself stop OTA? Usually devices lose drm keys after unlocking a bootloader, I don't see why would rooting itself wipe drm... I guess you don't lose drm after unlocking bootloader than... That is very kind of Motorola.

OK - shame the phone isn't sold globally - then we may have more activity and perhaps development.
Yes that's why i started the thread to discuss the development part as no such activity is seen on it....

Yes, we need some good devs apart from the ones who ported the 2 roms....
I used htcdev to unlock the bootloader and then flashed SuperSu but i got a buggy root looks like.
Also having issues with the sdcard write problem created by google...
I'm trying to sort out my kinks to set it up as per my liking using xposed modules etc...
cheers,
greg

I have permanent root. You have to unlock bootloader for that and then flash SuperSu as i mentioned earlier.
There is no method without unlocking bootloader. I tried a lot, none of the other exploits worked,, unless you want to spend
25 USD on Sunshine.....

Yeah bro... Actually i had unlocked ? my bootloader and backed up DRM keys (require root) but after 2 months my power button was not working properly....
What i did..
Restore DRM & relocked bootloader and flash the stock rom.... And then send it to service center and they also fix the issue for free!!
So is there any way to gain the warranty back like in samsung we can clear flash counters by "triangle away" app... And here in sony with DRM method??

Which method did you use to root? If it's HTC dev then we also were obliged to use that only. We are adding about any others without unlocking bootloader.

Hmm... I wonder. Is it okay to pick up a single sim version? Looks like everyone has dual sim here and I'm a little worried when ROMs do get ported, it might not work on the single sim version. Would it work anyway? Or do I really have to go for the dual sim?

AT&T have a nasty habit of preventing the unlock of bootloaders, this was the same with the Galaxy S5 and by preventing the unlock of the bootloader you can't (In most cases) get root as by having your device rooted the bootloader can't verify the firmware when loading it
