[Q] Xperia L flash Generic ROM - Sony Xperia L

Hi, I want to flash the official generic world ROM of Xperia L in my phone. But I dont have the bootloader unlocked and I cant unlock it becouse it says "NOT Allowed"
My question is if I can flash the firmware with Flashtools if I dont have the bootloader unlocked...
I had and Xperia X8 and I can do that with bootloader locked, I dont know if its the same...

Haha what you said is pretty much it. You don't need to root not unlock your bootloader to flash an ftf.

If it says 'unlock not allowed" you simply cannot unlock it. And at the moment you can't install custom roms or kernels, but no need to worry about that for now. I mean you just wanna flash an ftf here? so yeah go ahead.
If you need a guide on how to do it, refer to this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337955

i wouldn't. just wait for a developer to post a rooted version of the update and flash it in recovery. ive heard root + ota updates are kinda a hit or miss as to whether it will toast you or not
I'm having trouble too help?

Yeah locking the bootloader would work, you need to return 100% to stock though, so factory software it was shipped with, I don't know whether you still have that or if you can grab it from the official sony site, there is probably a copy of it in the forums

Running PC Companion with an unlocked bootloader is lethal. You could wait it out like PhxkinMassacre said,or skip the reverting to stock, but the bootloader is a must lock.

Please tell me that you are joking. IT'S NOT SONY MAKING THIS TYPE OF SECURITY ISSUE! IT'S YOUR NETWORK OPERATOR FAULT!
SONY EVEN HELP YOU UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER!...
Please read some information before you post. I have unbranded UK Generic Xperia L and I can unlock bootloader.
Some people in Poland who are with Orange cannot but with other operators they can. Before you buy some phone make a research.

Why ? Because you can't have a stupid CWM on LB... You can install C'n'T on locked bootloader.

[Q] AlienRom v6

hellow mates i'm just new here, i would like to ask whether i will use the ST26_Stock_kernel_by_2010Matej_3.4.0.31.11.2.0.a.31-3.4.0.ftf kernel provided in the download when flashing this rom? Because in the CWM instruction, it is said that the JB31.ftf will be used after using the CWM. I'm just confused which one to be used. By the way i'm xperia J user, android v. 4.1.2, build .31. Anyone can help me. Thanks a lot.

Whatever u do requires an unlocked bootloader n unlocking it will void ur warranty and u can relock the boot loader but that will not bring back the warranty since boot loader unlock key has to be obtained from Motorola's website

Yes...rooting requires an unlocked bootloader. Other than voiding the warranty, there's no prob unlocking it...it doesn't void the warranty if u r on a developer edition gpe device.

The Moto G ROM is so close to stock that this would be pointless. Is it worth voiding your warranty? I don't think so.

What do you mean? The Moto G ROM runs the stock launcher as default, you don't have anything to do nor anything to install to use it.

if i root and again unroot, will i get ota update?

Hope thread title makes sense.but asking again ,
Say i just rooted my device and then unrooted again.
Will get ota update then?

Read link in my signature about learning to update properly. Why do you want OTA? Because you don't know better?
If you're rooted then you don't need to wait in line for an OTA.

The reason of asking this is, i had bad experience about rooting and UBL.i had xsp and after uBL i lost BE2 and also no official update.so my actual goal is to know any precaution about rooting or UBL

First take the WXZ, and YGT it. You *should* at that point have 1FG. Assuming that you do, GHR the 1FG and make sure you are HTF. If you do it right, you should OTA no prob. If not, then WYA and you'll be good to go. Make sense?
