[Q] NxS jumping between 2G/3g?

Anyone else having a problem with the NxS jumping between 2G/3G network all the time?
I tried 2G-only and it seems the it does interrupt connection less often, but it still does. I'll exchange the sim card tomorrow to rule out the last option (I can think of) I got before returning the NxS and asking for a replacement.
(i9023, stock rom/kernel/radio, tried 3 stock roms with diff radios (KA3, KB3, KD1))
Maybe anyone got an idea or a hint.

Sounds like ur in a weak 3g area so it keeps goin back to 2g

Granted I'm not in the best 3G area, but I usually get 3 (of 5) bars in 3G and then it just pops back to 2G.
Might be network pumping (or w/e it's exactly called), gonna exchange the sim anyway to track down the problem further.

I have this problem aswell. Thing is 2 3g bars are way faster than 4 g bars. I cant change it to use only cdma in the service menu. Anyone know why.

So does change of simcard help?

I got it fixed for me. I tried n3 and n5 sim cards, no changes. Problems were caused by faulty antennas, after being fixed by the carrier problem was reduced to a minimum. Now to get rid of the so called network breathing, which is a problem of the used communication method itself aka can't be fixed. University ftl!! Simply too many smartphones

Optimus 3D 3G troubles

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me because I am going crazy with my Optimus 3D My device constantly loses the 3G connection and so I don't get any notifications about new e-mails and Whatsapp messages. The icons for network strength turn white and even sometimes that happens with the wi-fi icon. I already tried rooting the device and installed a custom rom but I still have this problem. The problem mostly occurs in the office I work in as 3g and network reception is very low here. I see that the device switches between HSDPA, GPRS and 3G quite often and then most of the time loses the internet connection. It also does not reconnect when I walk around and get to an area with better reception. Sometimes switching to Airplane Mode and back helps, but this is not a very handy solution. I am really clueless where the problem could be. I am here in Frankfurt/German so normally there should be no problems with the network (I am on Vodafone). The only thing I could think of is my SIM card, because I had an iPhone 4 before and had to cut the card to the micro SIM size and now use it with an adapter. Could this be a problem? Also the app 3G reconnect did not solve this problem.
Has anybody a clue what might be wrong with my device? I am already thinking about getting a new phone

I don't know when it loses the connection, could probably happen when it turns the screen off or switches between network speeds (3G, GPRS, HSDPA). It really is a problem for me that it does not get the connection automatically back. Currently it shows almost full network reception, the "G" icon with both arrows underneath (only the left arrow pointing up turns green from time to time), but it has no internet connection. I sent me a mail to my google account via my office PC haöf an hour ago, but still no message on the phone, that there is new mail

Just try a new simcard... my guess is that it will solve your problem.. could be worth the couple euros ..

I had similar Problems with O2 in Bremen.
That happens if the phone loses the 3g(h+) signal, turning of the data connection, and let that reconnect is enough, no need to turn on airplane mode than.
Try flashing the newest baseband version, and try the prometheus rom + kernel. I still notice that the same problem happens, but it reconnects again after losing it now, and i rarely notice it that way.
Maybe you could tell us your android version, and baseband version.

Hi everyone,
thanks a lot for your answers. I have the newest firmware on it V21E and baseband is L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00. Problem is that it does not automatically reconnect when it loses the internet connection. I had this problem again the whole day. When I left the office for lunch it did not reconnect, so again I did not get the newest e-mails. Probably I will really try another SIM card with a different network provider. I never had this issue with my iPhone... Thanks a lot for the advices, hopefully something will work. Otherwise I need to get a new phone :/

For me the 3g data service goes as it likes but to reconnect i have to restart the my phone. Tried many roms as well as kernels and finally using acura 3d Max 3.1 with titan kernel solved the problem. It doesn't give up 3g connection but if i switch to edge and back to hsdpa again i have to restart. Barry also lasts and have overclocked to 1.2 ghz

In the Dailer APP dial *#*#4636#*#* Phone info Scroll Down just above the turn off radio button Change from WCDMA Preferred to WCDMA only

Good morning (at least here in Germany it is morning *g*),
got me a new SIM card with a new provider yesterday evening and so far it seems to work fine in the office. I hope it stays like this, then the problem would be solved *phew* Thanks a lot for all your help!

[Q] samsung galaxy plus as a phone

Has anyone been able to get this to work as a phone? I got the original tab to do it but you had to change the modem to 2g mode and that made the internet worthless. Wondering if we can get it to work on 3G with phone.

What model is your tab?

I use mine as the phone in some cases and I don't have to change the modem to 2g. I have a p6200 version with stock ics and it works great without changing anything

I'm guessing the op has either got a wifi only model, or a data only sim inserted, I can't imagine any other reason why he would have difficulties using the calling feature

Mobile Internet Problem

I have a problem with my HTC One S C2.
The mobile Internet connection does not work.
It says " Connected" but a data transfer isn't possible.
The One S is only a few weeks old.
It's not a network problem because it works with another phone.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

Very unlikely but worth asking: does your phone happen to switch back and forth between 3g and H (it's an already known issue)? If so, have you tried setting the mobile radio to 2g-only?

Yea if your data says 3G your data won't connect.

3G problems on 5.0.1

Hello everybody,
I am using a Nexus 5 for a full year now and I noticed from the beginning that I never can get 3G signal, but when I am in the nearest city I van get 4G/LTE. Last week I wanted tot know more about it so I inserted my sim into another phone and immediately I had full 3G connection. So I updated to 5.1.0 with the new radio for 5.1.0 and I still couldn't get 3G. When I googled for 3g coverance I noticed I shoud've get full 3G. however only 2G and 4G works but the problem is that there is no 4G coverance in my hometown so I am stuck at the slow 2G. I'm in the netherlands and I already tried all options in *#*#4636*#*# but I still dont get 3G. also my apn settings are correct. so my last hope is to ask here if anyone knows what to do. I'll include a picture of my baseband version etc.

If it doesn't work after clean flashing factory images and trying different radio versions, it might be a hardware problem.

It's sad because I don't have any warranty anymore because I've opened the device up to replace the screen myself. Do I need to change the whole motherboard?
