Go to htcdev.com, create an account there after proceed to unlock bootloader. There will b a link to download HTC sync.

HTC Sync doesn't work with Windows 8. At least it didn't with mine.
Install EasyTether USB drivers. You can then disable the main EasyTether application if you don't want tethering.

I gave up and used my friend's pc running on Windows 7 to root my phone. Also you can try installing HTC USB drivers for Windows 8. Search themes and apps section to get them.

actually my problem is solved. apparently FASTBOOT requires you to connect your USB to USB 2.0 port It is best supported.
connecting to USB 2.0 solved the problem for me.
Other thing that I come across is that 1. check USB debugging 2. Uncheck the FastBoot option in settings> Power.
also some said that try to uninstall and re install drivers
usb didnt recognized,i try all the driver softwares, usb debugging
fastboot PC says USB device is not recognised. pls help[/QUOTE]

[q] help rooting tipo with bin4ry's root tool

Everything ok adb drivers installed.
But when it says please look at your device and press restore, I do it, but nothing happens and root fails.
Please help me
If I remember correctly, while rooting, the restore button comes when you slide down notification bar.
Once again check that USB debugging and msc mode (or mtp) is selected. I used binary tool v 17 btw.
And post questions in q&a section not development.
Hello,
I've exactly the same problem. Did you find a solution?
USB debug is on, MSC/MTP mode is not available on 2012 xperia models and I use the v18 of bin4ry's script.

Get the UnlockRoot. There's a free version to download.
Uncheck the toolbars in the install.
Worked in my Xperia J with 11.0.A.7.5 firmware it should work on Tipo also.
The bin4ry tool works only with older firmware, but there is a good tutorial, how to root it anyways with bin4ry's tool:

This worked for me...

Guess you are on jb 4.1.1. So in this case, bin4ry method and some others may not work.
Pls use THIS GUIDE TO ROOT YOUR PHONE.
It explains everything in detail.
But before trying the above, don't forget to install proper drivers,or nothing will happen(flashing won't start). Use THIS GUIDE TO INSTALL PROPER DRIVERS FOR CANVAS 2

[Q] Soft bricked micromax a117(mtk 6589t) debugging mode not turned on

Hi guys,
I just recently happen to soft brick my micromax a117(mtk 6589t chipset) while using a software to increase the ram. I forgot to turn on the debugging mode. Now i am unable to flash and install stock rom cause the debugging mode was not turned on .
I am able to access the "android system recovery" mode. However, when I try to factory reset the phone I get an error showing "mount/data error".
Can anyone please help me fix my phone? I have used this phone for less than a year.
Please help me I do not have a spare phone either

Try to install stock rom using SP tools. There will not be any problem. I have done it without debugging mode on.
Just one most imp thing is that Always use LATEST SP tools. Best of luck

Hi,
I already tried to do this. However, the SP tools software does not seem to detect my phone. Making it unable to install the stock rom. I have tried installing multiple drivers but none of the seemed to have helped.
Please advice what has to be done
Thank you.
