Guess you are on jb 4.1.1. So in this case, bin4ry method and some others may not work.
Pls use THIS GUIDE TO ROOT YOUR PHONE.
It explains everything in detail.
But before trying the above, don't forget to install proper drivers,or nothing will happen(flashing won't start). Use THIS GUIDE TO INSTALL PROPER DRIVERS FOR CANVAS 2

Did you installed the drivers..??
And you can just uninstall your current drivers... and download the latest drivers and install them... Mostly it works..

hi guys !
i have tested this method on windows 7x64 !
firstly download both these files !
drivers : http://c724062.r62.cf2.rackcdn.com/PantechPCSuite_1.1.1.3437.exe
bin4ry's rooting tool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
now install the drivers and connect ur device in mtp mode !
run bin4ry's rooting tool and then you'll see a restore option on your device, just hit the restore option on your device and your phone will reboot twice !
voila !!!
root obtained !
Thanks! This worked for me. I couldn't get it to work in MTP mode, PC data mode did work though.
i helped making the root method for linux but recently bricked my device and so i got a new one decided to use your new method and it worked great man much easier then the linux way lol how did you manage to find a pantech pc suite that recognizes our device that was our issue

It does
Works on XP as well. No drivers needed.
Sadly doesn't work on Windows 8 64bit >.<
Yeah doesn't work on Windows 8. I only have Windows 8 and couldn't figure out the Linux roots.... any alternatives?
i chose no 1,,,,but did not rooot, it say no patch found
So bin4ry says it was successful but my phone doesn't reboot a second time and I don't have su access. I tried superuser and supersu and neither installed and when I install them manually from the play store they through errors. Also, my phone has been running like crap after running bin4ry on it. I'm running windows 7 x64 and I'm not sure what went wrong.
I'm assuming since you didn't specify we are saposed to use normal device type (1) but I'm probably going to have to restore my device to get it to not run totally crappy now.
Is this method still valid for the Pantech Flex. My GF has one this phone and I want to get it rooted for Xposed modules.
Hello there, I have just finished to root my note 10.1 (n8010) and I realized that before the procedure I forgot to activate the USB Debugging. The tablet works fine, it shows that I have root access, the odin download mode works fine and the CWM works as well. Do I need to redo the procedure or not? what are the implications of having forgotten to activate USB Debugging?
Thanks

If your device is working fine, then there are no implications .. U have landed safely... Now enjoy
USB debugging is not required and not relevant to rooting .

Yeah, all was fine and so I decided to install the android revolution hd 9.0 rom. What a great development!!!
USB debugging may be required for the process, but not after it's finished. Unless you want to hack your system some more, which is what I'd do

Hi guys,
I just recently happen to soft brick my micromax a117(mtk 6589t chipset) while using a software to increase the ram. I forgot to turn on the debugging mode. Now i am unable to flash and install stock rom cause the debugging mode was not turned on .
I am able to access the "android system recovery" mode. However, when I try to factory reset the phone I get an error showing "mount/data error".
Can anyone please help me fix my phone? I have used this phone for less than a year.
Please help me I do not have a spare phone either

Try to install stock rom using SP tools. There will not be any problem. I have done it without debugging mode on.
Just one most imp thing is that Always use LATEST SP tools. Best of luck

Hi,
I already tried to do this. However, the SP tools software does not seem to detect my phone. Making it unable to install the stock rom. I have tried installing multiple drivers but none of the seemed to have helped.
Please advice what has to be done
Thank you.

4. Now connect your phone to pc

If you have PC follow these:
Try to download "kingo android" in your pc
Make sure you have the right drivers for your phone
then connect your device to pc via USB cable
open kingo android and start
If you dont have a pc and you have recovery mode in your device follow these:
search this: root (your device name) .zip file
and if you are successful put that zip file on root folder(the folder you see when you open your built-in file manager)
switch your phone to recovery mode
volume up, volume down, and menu button are the controls
navigate it to "apply update from sd card"
then choose your the zip file
If you dont have a pc and dont have a recovery mode follow these:
download "framaroot" "rootmaster" all apk
Hope it helps
I have already tried Kingo root - it is failed
this model is not in the list of supported model from kingo
Framaroot is also not working.
Root-SM-g7202.zip file is not available for this model till date.
if you find it, Please share.
Thanks.

i tryed iroot and this was successful. iroot auto downloads the driver from internet.
just you have to enable developers options and enable usb debugging and connect to pc
iroot installs the driver and then in your phone a message prompts to allow this pc you need to allow this
then iroot installs deamon and ask for root then click root button after some time the device reboots and
in iroot successful message prompts

Use Kingroot. It works.
i let make you understand basically
things you will need -
a pc or laptop with windows 7 or 8 os
samsung latest driver
iroot
samsung galaxy grand max with usb debugging enabled
and mobile should not have any pin or pattern security
you can disable this via setting and set it to none
then
disable your antivirus because maybe sometime it will stop the process or rooting
run iroot as administrator
then connect your grand max to pc with a working usb port
while connecting to pc
The device will ask if you are agree to connect the computer id. You need to confirm it.
You have to mark "Always allow this computer"
then iroot automatically install daemon which auto open and you never disturb this
then after some time the device will reboot and a message will show on iroot window "the device is rooted successfully"
