Anyone having outgoing speakerphone quality problems? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Anyone having problems with the audio quality when using speakerphone?
I have a bunch of people complaining to me about the way I sound on speakerphone. It sounds like I am in a hole and there is a popping/screaching that they hear.
The person I am having the most problems with is on Verizon with a new Note 3.
I thought it might be the HK hack causing the problem but reversing it back to stock doesn't alleviate the issue.

[Q] Mic problems when using speakerphone

When I use the speakerphone, the person on the other end hears odd/strange noises like metal clanging on metal suggesting there is a mic issue on my phone. I tested this myself by calling my landline and noticed it as well. It seems the noise canceling does not help. Is this an issue with custom AOSP based roms? Or is this a hardware issue with S3?

[Q] Sound distorted during calls

First of all I am sorry if there is thread with same issue but I couldn't find it.
My problem is not in tinny sound or no sound at all. It is problem that during calls sound from earpiece is distorted and I can't hear clearly what are people saying to me. This distortion is present every time even on speakerphone. On headset sound is clear.
I don't know when exactly that began but it was somewhere around when I S-OFF the phone with AAHK and installed IceColdSandwich.
First I thought it was earpiece and replaced it, but the problem remains. Then I notice that when I turn on speakerphone while headset is plugged in the sound in earpiece is clear. I also tried to play music without headset and noticed that in this case also sound is clear in earpiece. (on speakerphone and when I listen to music sound is also reproduced in earpiece besides loudspeaker on the back of the phone).
So I concluded that it is problem with some mics. Then I noticed that main difference between DHD and Inspire 4G is dual mic (mic near flash) so i then tried several ROMs for Inspire and DHD, with or without inspire mod fix and also stock GB ROM. I also flashed several radios (12.39a.60.19x_26.06.06.30, 12.56.60.25x_26.10.04.03_M, 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M) but no avail.
I think that it seems to be software issue but I don't know what radio or ROM to try.
Did anyone have this issue or knows how ti fix it?

Poor earpiece quality, finding "sweet spot" and hissing

Hi all
Picked up a Nexus 5 recently (latest model latest revisions) and love the phone but am having issues with the earpiece quality.
I have to constantly move the earpiece/headset around to hear the person and find the "sweet spot", or they fade in and out.
Also I notice a hiss at times.
Reception and earpiece quality overall just don't seem good.
I have iPhone 5, galaxy s4, and htc one and none have these issues.
I am on rogers wireless in Montreal.
Does anyone else have these issues ?
Any idea how I can resolve them ?
Some have suggested changing kernel ?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance

I have the same low earpiece volume problem.
So i use my phone a lot for voice calls and here's what I've found:
1) Prior to the android update (in stock 4.4.0) the earpiece in-call volume was ok. However the microphone was bad. Meaning other people always complained that i sound very far off and they couldn't hear me clearly. But I could still make calls without using a headset.
2) After 4.4.2 update, the microphone issue seems to be resolved. People tell me that they can hear me better. However the earpiece in-call volume is much lower than before. I can only hear people if I am in a very quiet room and even then I have to strain.
The only way to use the phone for calls is to use a headset (both wired and bluetooth work). The other day I was using my old Samsung Galaxy S3 for a phone call. The difference in clarity for phone calls is night and day. I had to actually lower the volume of the S3 because it was so loud and clear.
At this point, I am not sure whether it's my Nexus phone and a hardware defect. Could it be something that google did in the 4.4.2 update (meaning fixed the microphone, but lowered the in ear volume). Furthermore using a headset at max volume sometimes distorts the audio.
The funny thing is that with the 4.4.2 update the phone speaker is better and louder. However the earpiece for making calls is just plain lousy. I can't take calls unless I am carrying a headset with me.

[Q] Speaker and Speakerphone Problems

Currently running Viper 3.2.
I am having issues with my speakers (snap, crackle and pop) but I think this is likely a well known hardware issue, although I really just noticed it recently (I probably got a refurb when I did a warranty fix for usb port).
However, I am also having issues with speakerphone. No one seems to be able to hear me on speakerphone and they say it sounds very distorted. Has anyone else had similar problems and/or found fixes for both speaker and speakerphone issues?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone else have issues with call audio quality?

Ok, so I've noticed something a little weird with my Nex (int. version).
When making or receiving calls, on either of my SIMs, there's like a sort of thudding noise, almost like something is knocking the screen. It's pretty quiet but noticeable enough during calls.
Through trial and error, I've discovered it seems to be volume related, almost like an audio clipping issue.
My first thought was that it was a hardware issue with the earpiece, especially as calls made on the loudspeaker are fine. But I discovered you can listen back to call recordings on the earpiece and when I do that, the noises are gone. So that pretty much rules out a hardware issue.
The next thing that crossed my mind was that it might be signal related, however the issues aren't present on the call recordings full stop, which pretty much rules that out too, as any audio imperfections caused by the signal would have to be present in the recording as well.
So I'm stumped, it only seems to happen within calls themselves. There's no obvious cause, either hardware or signal, so I'm wondering if it's software-related but I can't see how.
Has anyone else had any similar issues?
Yh I've been experiancing the exact same issue on my int version also. Its related to the volume like you said but it would be interesting to know if the chinese version has the issue or not.
I have the Chinese version. I'm not experiencing audio clipping. No thumps. No problem.
Any other with same problem here ?
i am facing same issue, but sometimes who calls me or i call someone they are listening Echo sound.
Anyone managed to solve this issue? I got my phone 3 days ago and this issue appears in most of my calls. Interestingly, it seems to work perfectly fine while I'm on the line and wait for the person to pick up.
I got same issue. How to solve this?
