I have the issue attached
when I upgrade from 2.3.x (I forget) to 4.0.4 the screen started to do that and the system slows down performance and after a while it restarts.
I installed again 4.0.4 with rsd lite but this problem keeps happening
and before that I tried the boot menu manager and the same problem occurred in the boot menu screen
anyone has idea how to fix it?

sorry for my google translated english..
thanks
Looks like either your ribbon cable or your LCD is bad....don't panic a LCD for the atrix 2 is around $15 (USD) and a ribbon cable should be even cheaper.....after you buy them there should be a repair guide on YouTube to help you out

Really?
do you think that is the ploblem?
The strange thing is that the problems have started right after the upgrade to 4.0.4.
thanks for the reply
Yea well maybe the cable is loose.....but if the screen is doing this even in recovery then is most likely hardware

Hello,
Something's wrong with my Nexus S. I have used this phone occasionally as I use my Galaxy S2 mostly but ever since the JB update, I've been using the Nexus S. I don't remember dropping the phone in the last week and today, out of the blue, the phone stopped vibrating. No vibration AT ALL. Not even when you turn the phone on/off. I tried wiping caches and reflashing the stock OTA that I'm using but to no avail.
I really don't want to pry this phone open as I don't want to pop its cherry but as a last resort I guess I'll have to UNLESS someone here has a fix or a better idea
By the way, I'm out of city and am stuck with a phone that won't vibrate
Looking forward to some good solutions.
Thank you and regards.
So it's not under warranty anymore?
Noop, I've had it for more than a year and a half now but it's been hardly used for 6 months in total as I kept switching in between to my Galaxy S2
I've tried tapping the phone in the right places, pulling the battery out, turning vibration on/off a hundred times, everything. Nothing seems to be working
Update: I tried using 2 other motors from different dead Samsung phones and none of them worked. Is the phone sensitive to the specific part that the motor is on the Nexus S? Any insight into this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi there I got my fone Thursday updated to jelly bean and I've had no vibration either I've got it all ticked on vibration but still nufink I've factory reset my fone twice aswel I'm on stock ota update

Sounds like hardware malfunction? Which is unfortunate... try to replace vibration motors

And now, it stops working AGAIN as i was texting!
I guess it wouldn't be a software issue, how'd it go with yours?
has any noticed "jitters" with there phone screens becuase ive notived lately that my phone "jitters" ( kinda like a reception issue i guess ) were the screen flickers on an off and im needing help in regards to fixing this issue ( IF IT CAN BE FIXED ) or do i need to send my phone into samsung to get replaced please let me know
I would get a replacement.. sounds like hardware failure

That happened to me and I had to get a replacement. Started off being a sporadic issue and progressively got worse, to the point where o could not use my phone when it happened. The phone would flicker a charcoal grey color, this would cover the entire screen except the notification bar. It hasn't happened with the replacement.

i found the issue it wasn't hardware failure or rom is was actually using the TWRP 2.4 recovery i tested it with 3 of the roms i normally run as dailies ( tweaked 2.2 slim 3.1.0 Struck and PAC 4.1.2 and it jittered the screens like bad ( kinda like a computer that when it gets popped with a magnet / or older tv having f|_|cked up reception so i changed the recoveries and viola no more jitters so apparently the TWRP doesn't like blaze owners ( at least me lol ) but if there's anyone else experiencing these issues narrow down first before you consult a replacement
Hello guys, I've had a Galaxy Note 10.1 since November and yesterday the backlight connection went. Basically you had to hold the tablet in a certain way for the backlight to come on and to use it. I thought the tablet was totally dead (perhaps the exynos problem going around) but then as I was packing it away the screen flickered on and I took my hand off it and it went off. So the problem seemed to be that a connection was loose or something. Anyway I backed up everything to Kies and went to Tesco to get a new one. They offered me a full refund or a replacement, so I took a replacement.
Now I've charged it up and when I try to restore my backups from Kies nothing happens. They are all there and it recognizes my Note 10.1. It is stuck at "Preparing to start restore process..." but after 2 hours it hasn't gotten anywhere. I've even tried selecting less items to restore but no luck. Does anyone have a solution to my problem? Thanks for your help!
Bump!

Suggestion would be to try Kies or Samsung forum .

Hi,
I have a galaxy tab 2 which I got recently. As soon as I got it home I installed the latest CM10 so not sure if this problem is software related or hardware.
Anyway the issue is that when the tablet is turned on within the first 5 minutes of use the touchscreen becomes unresponsive intermittently. The only way to get it working again after it freezes is to turn the screen off then on and the screen responds again. It will keep doing this for another few minutes or so intermittently. The stranger thing is that after the first 5 minutes or so of doing this the screen then seems to work fine for the remainder of the time I use it.
When I turn off the tab and start it again the next day, it does the same 5 minutes of intermittent unresponsiveness then fine again!
Anyone had the same problem or can suggest a fix??
Thanks.

Try to use another night or stable CM ROM. Did you have the same problem on stock ROM? Has your tablet screen protector? - it may cause some permanent lags
Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 4
I have no screen protector. I also have the same CM10 installed on a second tab 2 I own which does not have this problem.
To me it does not feel like screen lag, but more the screen touch just switches off for no reason.
I'm not sure if it happened in the stock rom as I did not test it. I will try the latest CM10 and also stock to see if it makes a difference.
Sent from my CUBOT GT99 using Tapatalk
If you will see this problem in the stock rom after flashing multifiles rom with PIT-fie, you should going to service, because your recently got tab can have physical problems.
Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk 4
Yes I suspect this is a hardware issue as nobody else seems to have reported the same problem. I'll try the stock rom again soon.

Well I have a second tab 2 that works perfectly with CM10. I think this second tab must just be bad luck.
For general internet browsing, apps, and even most games, this tab is fine. It's quick and smooth with CM10. If you need productivity software or high end games then go for the tab 3 or the note. But for general stuff those tabs are overpriced and over spec!
Sent from my CUBOT GT99 using Tapatalk
So I've now tried flashing to CM11 and then also back to the stock, but still the same problem.....first few minutes after starting the tab the screen becomes unresponsive 4 or 5 separate times. Only turning the screen on and off makes the screen responsive again.
Then after the 5 minutes or so the screen works normally!!!
What is going on?? I assume this must be a hardware issue then??

ill bring this up cause i have same problem
on my side i own the first generation of galaxy tab, i dropped the tab o the floor, got the screen replace by a local shop, the intermittent problem started, brought back the tab, they put a new glass/digitilizer, problem is still there.
stock p7500 rooted for the past 4 years, never got that problem before breaking the glass
they told me every connections seem to be fine, i didnt opened the back panel myselfto check but i wanted to know if anyone got that and if they found a solution

@np27np27

and how do you replace a motheboard on a tab, also whats the cost of a motherboard, wouldnt be easier to just buy a new tab ?
i really love the first generation, even if its outdated and slower, it does what i need and i dont have the "middle" button that the new ones have.
I've sent it to a Samsung service center. The tab was still under warranty.
I am having trouble with my Galaxy S3 (SCH-I535), mainly the touchscreen does not respond to input, but still has a display. This all came about after I tried rooting and updating the ROM. I was able to successfully root and unlock bootloader, but then I tried doing a system update via the Stock ROM and upon a restart my touchscreen stopped working. I tried a factory reset from stock recovery and now I am stuck on the the screen that says Language selection English, Espanol, and some other languages. The 2 soft keys on either side of the home button respond to touch (make a noise and light up the screen, but do nothing for the screen I am on). Volume rocker works fine, I just cant move forward in the screen!! Like I said, I am able to get into stock recovery, as well as ODIN.
I bought this phone on eBay and just got it activated this past Thursday. Samsung told me the phone is out of warranty. The ebay seller said it came from Amazon and might have a receipt, but I'm not sure if that would even help anything. Can someone tell me what my options are in this situation? Screen replacement? Soft brick?
Thanks!
Anyone?
Bump
Any help is most appreciated...thanks!
I would Odin back to stock. Sounds like you updated to 4.3 so just Odin to 4.3 and factory reset after. If that does not fix it then it's a hardware problem. Do you have a warranty?

No warranty...bought off eBay from a regular auction, not an agent or licensed retailer.
Still bricked...

ODIN'd to the 4.3 file in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586319 and did a factory reset, still no screen response. Looks like a hardware issue after all. I think I am at 4.3, though because the menu background looks different and so was the bootup splash.

How severe a hardware issue?
So I definitely have a hardware issue, but is there anyway to determine how severe (read: costly) the issue is? If I'm looking at a simple screen replacement that is under $50 I might consider, but if we are talking a digitizer that is the cost of what I paid, then fugggetaboutitttt
Any way to determine this?

It's either the LCD or Digitizer. Definitely not the glass. If you get the whole Assembly (LCD and Digitizer) its around $130 just for the part. Your call. The glass panel is only $10 but your issue is the digitizer. Might be mobo (maybe).
This link include the the glass panel too but it's only worth $10. So LCD+Digitizer=$120
