Hey Everyone,
I have a tough one here, at least for me.Question is am I getting charged for texting using "GO keyboard"? I am no longer grandfathered in with Verizon's unlimited data plan and need to know how to distinguish between a text message and an Instant message. With Verizon you get charged for anything data which does include IM to the best of my knowledge.
So am I getting charged by using the Go keyboard which does come with themes or NOT? If you need more info from me please ask and if I put this thread in the wrong location I apologize and will put it in it's appropriate place if told where.
I think I have rambled enough...Thank you in advance...I do have to say that verizon is a good carrier in my area but for the love of god why is everything on the bill so foreign????????????????????????????

I've used go keyboard in the past, not currently.
Go keyboard is just a skin for your regular keyboard, not a service itself.

Worth a shot but getting a text bounce back doesn't really mean much. Either they will extend it to all customers who send the "yes" text or they will filter out anyone not on a iPhone plan before they batch apply the non-recurring credit to their billing system.
Go figure, a 1000 minute freebie and no update to Froyo.

We've also updated our unlimited text packages, if you have it or want it...update it or request for it and you get UNLIMITED MOBILE TO ANY MOBILE CALLING...not just at&t but all the mobile carriers included...if you didn't know. I'm just letting yall know cause its new and its gonna give us a little edge above the others.

I was just wondering if any of you guys knew of any ways to get monthly discounts through att. Its a bit more expensive than sprint. But I know there's usually certain loopholes you veterans know about

I am a sales rep for at&t... as far as i am aware, the only monthly discounts we do are business discounts. If you work for a company that has a business account with at&t for cell phones, as an employee of that company you can use their company monthly discount code on a personal line. It is called a FAN IRU Number.

Do a Google search you'll find what you need. I can tell you that the US Postal Service discount is 25% off service & data on primary line and 50% off all accessories.

Same for my employer. I thought someone said USPS was actually 30% on service (e.g. they have the best deal of anyone). I'm 25/50.
AT&T DOES verify that you work for who you say you do when you initially have a FAN applied to your account - so pulling out a random FAN isn't going to help you. However once a FAN is applied, you don't get checked from then on.

I said NOT the diapers.
I was trying to say you can get on a FAN account of your choosing WITHOUT having to verify anything. Google is your friend. Att Fan Discount YMMV.
So I just received the T-Mobile SK4G for myself and my entire family all on one account for the family unlimited plan. For every phone added the billing price every month for each added line was cheaper. But what I would like to know is, would the main account holder be able to go online or on their phone and check the contents of text messages sent and received to all the "sub" phone lines on the account.
Like would the account holder be able to read the actual messages and the messages from the person who sent a text to the phone?
I've been hearing mixed answers about it is and isn't possible and I thought that there's no better people to ask than people who are on the network themselves
No, you can see to whom (or from whom) the text was sent and/or received. You can also allot a number of minutes and texts (and even the amount of money spent on downloads of ringtones and apps) with Family Allowances. I do not believe, short of putting some kind of (ILLEGAL) snooping app on the phone
that you can read contents of texts.
Just to explain I am the account holder for three different accounts, one with four lines, one with two and, one with one. I can't see the contents (nor do I want too) of texts. I can only see when and to whom they were sent to or received from.
Definitely NOT being sent from my HTC Amaze4G until Christmas Day.....
Main account holder cannot read text , they could only view number's that you have called .

This is kinda related to a GS3 because I have that on my plan, anyway, if I have 2 unlimited data plans still on contract, can Verizon do anything, or will they, if I forgot to pay my bill by the due date and it was paid one day late? It was never disconnected or anything, but just wanted to see if a similar thing happened to anyone else and if they know what Verizon does? I'm just mainly referring to whether they can cancel your unlimited data if you paid a day late, or if it's ok since it wasn't very long after te due date.

Lol. No. I got laid off during the summer and had a $600 bill. Just call them and work out a plan. I have one unlimited and three regular lines.

I was gonna say I pay the moment I get a text saying my account is about to be turned off and not any sooner.
If Verizon wants to let me use my upgrade and keep my unlimited data I will change my mind.
Until I leave them this is my practice.

Boom! Me too. When I get the text, I know the bill is due. Then, if I don't have all the cash - I call them and use my mad phone skills. Lol.

But it wasn't even 24 hrs past the initial due date, like it was due on the 1st day and I paid right after noon on the 2nd day. There was no sign of any automated system taking a hold of my account, not tha I know the sign of that, and I already paid it. Do I still need to call them to let them know? What do I need to let them know if it's already paid? And if it's already paid, does their automated system still react to it because it was a few hours late?
For those who say they don't pay until they get the email saying they will be disconnected, how long after the due date of your bill do you get that email?

Don't worry about paying anything until you get the text. Lol. Then call them. Get the billing department. They can tell you how long you have until they cut you off. If you make an agreement with them the service stays on.
When im hard up for cash I set my priorities
house car insurance food at then late fees credit cards then vzw 5 dollars late fee then I would pay current late total at least half for vzw
Vzw does not report to the big three credit card report companies

Having worked for Big Red for a couple of years as a CSR/Tech Support (not currently), yes you can go through the automated system and let them know a payment has been "sent" even tho you may not have actually sent one. This is stop them from bothering you for a while. Unless you are extremely delinquent (Past 2+ months), they won't turn your phone off. There's usually a 25-35 re-activation fee per line but you keep your same plan.
I pay late myself just because it works better for my financial situation and changing bill cycle/due date is such a PITA. I highly recommend against it because 99% CS rep don't know how to calculate your pro-rations and end up effing it up, costing you both time and money.

Like I said in another thread. The S3 General forum is turning into an OT-like forum. I don't know if it's age differences (I'm 34) but it seems to me that a lot of people need their hand held for a lot of frivolous things nowadays. Like "should I use a screen protector on my phone?", "I'm thinking about changing phones, need opinions, help!". C'mon. :silly:

That's a lot of money man but the reason my plan is 300$ is because I get Walgreen discount plus a reduction from an issue with Verizon... The store manager put me on a 2yr contract when I signed up with a used phone.. That asshole got me like 40$ of the plan for the first year he hehe.

paying late shouldn't affect your credit, but i would read all the fine print about your unlimited plan. i am on unlimited plan and they do not slow down my speeds and I still maintain the account. I use over 50gb a month so i really need it. always be careful not to lose it.
OK so I want to buy a Samsung Focus S not as a phone (I have to cope with Verizon dumb phones since I'm not allowed a data plan) but to mess with windows phone and to play music with when I run (don't want to have to use a non touchscreen phone while running, too awkward). So I found one at a good price (140ish) and I am spending my own money in my savings account (that only my parents can get into). But when I tell them this, they say that they don't see the point because I COULD play music on my dumb phone (yuck) and they don't the the point in me getting it for windows phone because I have a tablet that does the same stuff and a phone. They are mainly against it not because of what it is or anything but because they don't understsnd why it makes sense. But I want to tinker with wp7 and have a half decent smaller device for multiple purposes. computer people, you know what I mean! No, getting the smartphone for my phone isn't an option, they won't pay my plan. I'm 17. Any help? Thanks in advance! Well they WOULD, but I don't have time for a job to pay for it because of the way my ap classes are etc. Really getting a simfree phone is cheaper, its just that my parents don't see the point in it. I mainly want the better camera than my tablet, and simply a decent smaller device, but they still don't see why not to mention that I am paying for the simfree phone myself. I have $ for a $140 focus s without a plan, but not $360/year for such a data plan
