[Completed] bricked htc droid incredible 4g - XDA Assist

i have a htc droid incredible 4g. i was rooting it through this guide.
Team Infernal FakeCid AUTOMATIC bootloader unlock
i followed it step by step completing it until i reached to step to change the values with hex editor. i think i have changed the wrong values so when i came to end to enter " start a new one and type "adb reboot bootloader" " the phone restarted and wouldn't turn back on in no way. it wont vibrate, go to bootloader or the led wont come on when charging. i would like to bring it back to stock. i live in jamaica so i cannot carry it to htc. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you make sure that your Battery has a charge. It is possible that if you started the process with less than a full battery, you may have completely discharged the battery. Plug the device in for a while. Then see if you can Boot it up. If you can Boot into Fastboot Recovery, and run the RUU. I take it that you are on Verizon ? That your device is the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE correct ? If so you can find the RUU to take it back to completely Stock in the link below.
As always read, read, and reread the thread / posts before doing anything.

What you are seeing on the PC / Laptop with the Device not connected are the drivers for when you connect your device. If you cannot get into Fastboot then it is most likely Bricked. I would suggest checking out THIS THREAD. Lastly you can try posting HERE in the Droid Incredible Q/A section to see if anyone can further assist you.

Flashed wrong bootstack/modem, Pls HELP unbrick m8

Hi there,
I accidentally flashed (inside twrp) my HTC m8 with a bootstack/modem of a different phone (39a,LG G2). I'm pretty embarrassed about it, didn't mean to do it...I thought I was following instructions to install a new rom for the m8,except I was in the wrong forum..
details: in TWRP I flashed the wrong file, then went on to install a new rom and an error appeared: this is not vs980, this device is m8wl...so I thought, what? strange....
I turned off the phone (without realizing yet what happened. Sorry, stressful couple of weeks) and when I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't. No matter how long I held the power button, or power and vol down. It will not go in download mode, neither detect it is plugged in to charger or a computer. Basically totally off without any response.
My question: is there any way possible to resuscitate this phone? please help me! any advice is appreciated.
before I had the m8 with s-off,rooted,with a 5.1 rom installed.
Thank you in advance!!!

thanks for the help so far guys!
Here's another funny thing. After a few attempts of plugging it in to a computer, it was recognized and it showed up in the device manager. The phones still did not turn on though. Additionally it seems that the phone is seen as an LG model (even though it's not), but I am not sure yet. I will get the HTC drivers installed, and if it doesn't work, I will try the LG drivers.
by the way, isn't there a way to flash the correct modem/bootstack with ones of those kits? i also remember from downloading the wrong LG G2 modem/bootstack that it didn't come with fastboot in it.
I will try a few things and report it back.
thanks again,

If your device doesn't light the power button but for a single flash when you try to power it on your board is toast.
If it shows up in device manager as a qusb bulk device the board is toast.

I got it to be recognized on a computer again, and windows installs a driver. The name of the device is forge hs-usb qdloader 9008.
I tried the all in one 2.0 kit, adb sideload, etc but anything I try I get a "device not found".
I think I am giving up unless someone finds a way to unbrick this kind of severe problem in the future. I also researched a bit on google, and there's a way to unbrick the LG G2 when it's seen as forge hs-usb qdloader 9008, which is known as a board unbrick. I found nothing for the HTC m8 though.
We tried all we could Thanks all for the help, it's very much appreciated! You guys are the best and this forum is awesome. I also ordered a new phone...and I will root it too

Might be completely wrong on this.
Wouldn't he be able to JTAG the appropriate boot image back onto the device?
Also, I know we had a hard brick recovery for the S3 back in the day. Worked consistently on full hard brick's.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166
Isn't it possible to dump a debrick image from a working device and follow the guide with that? I know the two devices are completely different, but the premise is the same.
My technical know-how isn't anywhere near your level, just thought I'd throw these ideas out there is case it hasn't been thought of yet. I'd be happy to put together a guide on how to do this if it can work on the M8.

There are other ways to start your device from hard-brick state; I once hard-bricked my opo and used ColorOS (Can't remember exactly) with some chinese tool and it then showed fastboot mode from there you can pick it up.

Its now connecting but stuck in 8974_msimage_mbn loop it just trying to flash 8974_msimage_mbn and resets. Please Help.
Suggestion:
Connect with USB to Linux PC.
Big chance that yr PC sees memory card of OPO.
Copy Rom to the card.
Install with TWRP, if available, or with other similar.
That worked for my OPO brick.
Arvie
Color OS method worked for me. Just install the correct drivers and your good to go.

Hello XDA Members,
I have recently bought a OnePlus 7 Pro (GM1915) T-Mobile, Oxygen OS 10.0.3.GM31CB

Is it carrier locked or blacklisted?

Just ented edl mode . Phone totally powered off , download this. Unzip , and run the msmdownload tool. If needed just download qualcomm drivers. Once ran the exe just press vol up and down at the same time during 4 or 5 seconds (before this keep the usb plugged in the computer but not the phone connector side). After the seconds just plug the cable onto the phone connector and wait unitl the program shows Connected or Ready. Once this is done just click Star and wait for the process to be done. After that just wait the phone boot and unlock bootloader if wished.

Looks like msmdownload tool hangs after click "Start".
I got a message "Param preload" in column "Status of Last Communication". Time is ticking but nothing happens.
What can provoke the issue? I use Windows 2008 Server. Can it cause the issue with msmdownload tool?
ok first pull up ur device manager and (ok there is a couple of different ways some ppl just like to argue. It is what it is.) Me personally this is how i do it ok. Just me it works everytime Hey its oneplus.
I reboot to the bootloader by powering off phone. thwn hold volume down and power button at the same time. When the oneplus logo appears you can let off. It mighttake you to the recovery screen or straight to the bootloader but that doesnt matter at all really if it takes you to recover the stock recovery go advance then bootloader yes and yes. Now your in the bootloader. You dont really have to be in the bootloader to do this for real. I chose to. then I plug my phone in and I leave the phone powered on ok now you wanna have your device manager ready and up cause some these phones you have like 10 secs. your going to hold the volume up and down and power button all 3 down together make sure your hands are comfortable cause sometimes it takes awhile. but if dide right your screen should be black. Now on your device manager you are goona expand the port section make sure that driver says quacomm hs-usb Qdloader 9008 ok now once it says that and u installed the right one I cant really tell you which one to use. really cause i went through alot the one i ended up with is the microsoft catalog (google oneplus 7 pro qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 and take from there. and make sure u installed the lt drivers that came with the msm tool. install all certificates all that stuff. If done right. It will not freeze up It will have a green bar and it will be doing its thing for like 2-3 mins.

Attempt at unlocking LG G7 ONE bootloader

Hi all,
Apologies in advance as I'm pretty new with this stuff and may be misusing terminology or have some fundamental things mixed up.
I've been searching for a while on how to root/unlock the bootloader for the LG G7 One (LMQ910UM), and there seems to be a mix of people saying they haven't yet figured out a way to do this and others providing theoretical suggestions (who don't own the phone themselves). I've been studying the very helpful guide from Awesomeslayerg here, who thought that their process should work for the majority of G7 devices. The problems that I've run into seem to be different than those I've found other people discussing, so I thought to share, in case I'm missing something obvious.
I can get the phone into EDL mode by running "adb reboot recovery" and then holding Vol +. My Windows device manager registers it as an unknown device, but not as QHUSB_BULK. Instead, it shows up under Ports as a generic "USB Serial Device," with the little warning triangle. On my laptop, it would typically show up in the USB controllers list. On both computers (my PC and my laptop) I've tried various methods for installing the Qualcomm 9008 QDLoader driver, to no avail. If I just run the install wizard EXE, I get the Qualcomm HS-USB showing as a hidden device, but when I plug in the phone, it would just stay hidden/inactive and the phone would come up as an unknown USB Serial Device. I tried the manual install method (described here), disabling Driver Signature Verification as instructed, but what would happen every time is that the Device Manager would just hang out "installing drivers" forever. I once had it running on my laptop for about 30 minutes before the computer simply blue-screened.
At some points, usually after I force-quit Device Manager and rebooted, the Qualcomm port would display as hidden and then actually show up as a functioning device when I would plug in my phone (while in EDL), but I would still get the "unrecognized device" Windows notification popping up (even though I was no longer seeing it display as an unrecognized device in the manager), and QFIL was unable to recognize the port at all (the port list would just show up blank).
I fully expect that somebody may simply inform me that it's established that the G7 One can't be rooted, but I thought it was worth putting out the issues I've been having in case there's something I'm misunderstanding or overlooking.
Thank you for your time
Ben
It wont work thats for most G7 ThinQs not G7s ... g7 one has sdm835 thinQ has 845 ... edl mode its integrated in SOC itself so you need the proprietary firehose in order to be able to work with qfil and that firehose its only for LG SDM845
