Hi guys, I've been trying to make a some kind of camera out of my phone so the SW2 vibrates any time a motion is detected. So far I managed to make the tasker turn off and on the Bluetooth connection so the SW2 vibrates showing that it's disconnected right now. However, this method is very unstable and battery-insufficient. Can someone of you guys tell me how to use the tasker notifier properly, because somehow I didn't manage to set it up. Once again, I just need it to work this way: IP webcam detects motion - tasker pushes a notification directly on my SW2(with vibration)(maybe there are more than one way to do this?)
Sorry for the noob question, I do not ask you to write a whole profile for me, just explain how the tasker notifier works.
Thank you in advance/Sorry for the off-topic

If you have watchit or something like this on your SW2 you simply need to make a last task (instead of turning on/off bluetooth) "Alarm" -> "Notification" Set your Text in Title field. Done.
Now your Notification App (WatchIt, Watchify - whatever) shows your Notification.
Hope that helps.

Hi guys,
I hope you can shed some light into my problems, i brought tasker for my xperia x10i, firstly i wanted to set it to be able to show notification o missed calls and texts on minimalistic widget, but i have a problem setting it up.
I Followed these guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944981 i followed the guide exactly and done it three times over and it does not work.
I then moved to this guide http://tasker.wikidot.com/add-missed-text-mail-call-text-to-minimalisitc-text-from-tas also followed this accurately and still no notifications.
I noticed that in tasker the profiles/tasks have a check box to the right, i have ticked both, and also clicked apply, the small on/off button at bottom right is set to on.
I followed suggestions that suggested i re-install the application and re-do the steps, i have done this also but nothing has happened, on my notification bar it says Tasker 'No Active Profiles' although on tasker it shows that its on.
I do have TaskKiller installed but have ignored tasker so i dont think that is the problem.
Bellow are some screenshots.
Any help would be appreciated.
please note at the top left of the lock screen there is a slighter dark area, thats where the minimalistic sms widget is supposed to show the missed sms.
Hi,
a profile is only active when a specific situation has occurred.
For example:
Enable WiFi when in a certain place.
Profile is only active when you are at this particular location.
with friendly greet

Hi and thanks for the reply,
So i supose in my situation once a message is received, the profile will become active? if thats the case it still says no profiles active.
It says that because your profiles are event based, when that event happens, your profile will activate. Normal profiles that isn't event based will become active, and stay active until the context doesn't match anymore. Basically event based profiles will activate but won't stay activated , unlike non-event based profiles
Hello everybody,
I have downloaded Tasker a few weeks ago and set up some profiles. I am still a total noob and try to improve my profiles and tasks as much as possible.
In my profile "headset connect" i want to start spotify and turn on the screen. Launching spotify is very easy however i haven't found a soloution to turn on the screen aswell. Under the display option "turn on" is red. My device is rooted and I also installed Secure Settings.
Is there any chance this might work?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Download Secure Settings plugin from play store. My OPO refuses to detect any headset though, idk if problem is with Tasker or CM11S or maybe just the hardware. Works fine on the N5 though.
Hi everyone, and thanks in advance if you can help. I need my phone to be silent during daytime meetings and at night. I've installed an app which should take care of this. However I still get sound notifications. I'm assuming it's the "interruptions" feature over riding the app as I see the star icon displayed. Is there anything I can do to stop this? It's really annoying me. Thank you so much for your assistance.

Hit the volume button one so the sounds mode dialogue pops up onto your screen. You'll see three options, All, Priority, and None. Select None.

Hello Heisenberg and thank you for getting back to me. I've seen the option you describe, but I wanted something that would work with my calendar and automatically mute during events - plus at night time and then revert back to normal. Every time the app I'm using modifies the sound profiles, the star icon appears and lets notifications through. I think I'd prefer to disable "interruptions" and use the app full time as it's far more efficient and versatile. Do you know if it's possible? Sadly, I can't find a way to make the phone work in the way I want it to - do you have any other thoughts please?

I don't understand why you need an app. I just use profiles and adjust the sound mode manually, it's easy enough.

Ah - I tried that and couldn't find a way to make it happen using my location, an app will do it all automatically during the day based on my calendar and also at night. Am I missing something here?? Forgive me if I sound dim but I'm getting very fed up having to constantly mess around with the phone settings because it seems to override the app settings. What happened to "quiet hours"??
I have searched and searched and cannot find a way to do this, so hoping someone has the same issue.
I have a home security app (Blink) that notifies whenever it captures video. I want it to do this.
But, we have builders in at the moment - I need the security cameras to stay on, but I get notifications all day.
I can disable the notifications entirely i know, but I forget to turn them back on.
Is there any app / tasker / similar way I can create something which will pause this app notifcations for say, 3 hours?
Thanks

Well, you answered your own question. An app like the Tasker app should be able to do what you want.
Or simply use your calender app to set reminders to turn on/off notifications for that app.

So how would I do that?
I know how to take action from a trigger say (i.e. plugging in my phone), and I know how I'd turn on DnD
but i'm not sure:
a) how I would say, create an icon to do this on my home screen
b) Turn off the notification status of a specific app
c) then ensure it came back after x amount of time
Thanks
Hi everyone,
Like many others I'm having to use Zoom a lot lately, the laptop's webcam is broken so I'm using the phone as a webcam.
Every time a notification comes in, though, it interrupts the webcam. Silent mode has no effect on that.
Are there any apps (rooted or not) that can temporarily disable all notifications, then, when switched off, restore the prior settings of notifications for all apps?
I'm aware of NotificationsOff, but not understanding whether switching profiles off and on messes all the detailed notification settings painstakingly set for certain apps, and not willing to risk that.
Thanks for any tips!

Hmm can't you just use Do Not Disturb mode and set it to not only disable sounds, but also visual notifications - so therefore they won't be heard nor seen?
I'm on Resurrection Remix, see the attached screenshot, but I'm sure OOS has this setting too
Thank you @cd993 that sounds like exactly what I want, and you're right, it's in the OOS menu, and I just discovered that this setting was already activated.
But now you're making be doubt, maybe I haven't been activating DND. The switch on the side of the phone activates Silent mode, but I guess it doesn't do notifications.
Will try DND and ask again if that doesn't work.
