Can anyone assist me in setting this up? Every time I try to do remote gamestream it tells me that my PC is "Offline" but I can log in with apps like Splashtop, and I can even use VPN (thou I will be honest, I don't know exactly a VPN does).
I cannot get past the whole "trying to wake up computer" it just does the spinning and eventually goes back to the game select screen.
Router = Linksys EA3500 (Dual band so it uses 2.4 and 5)
GPU= 750 GTX
GFE = 2.0.1.0
Driver 377.50
Shield = 4.4.2 (Up to date)
If you need additional information please let me know. And thank you in advance.

1) Have you forwarded all the relevant ports?
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3483/~/remote-gamestream-router-port-forwarding
2) If your router has firewall defense (eg drop ping, ddos protection etc) then disable it
3) Check your external IP address and add your pc manually using that.
Check the ports that the shield are using for stream, and check your windows firewall, most of the cases are problems with the firewall or port forwarding, and also it depends if you are using cable internet or dsl internet, but first you shiuld try to check you ports and frewall and then check the internet to extranet conections.

Hey all, I'm not certain if you've solved your problem yet. I had the exact same issue that you did and I found a cure today. Assuming you've opened your ports or enabled Upnp, all you need to do is get your PC's local IP address, and use it as the DMZ host for your router. My shield immediately started connecting to my PC remotely. ****ty part was trying to edit all of those settings with a ****ty remote desktop app such as google chromes or splashtop.
I hope this helps you or anybody else having this issue. As of today 11/16/14 all of my apps and drivers are all up to date. Using GTX 760 and Shield tablet.

Hi,
I just bought myself a new webbook (a CnMbook) and want to use my TouchPRO as a modem so I can surf the net at work.
I've been routing round the internet to find an answer - which I have done http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6239582#post6239582 but my webbook doesn't have the option to get to terminal.
Can anyone else help?
Thanks
Simple solution, which I'm using is > http://www.walkinghotspot.com/
Thanks for your reply - but I already pay for unlimited internet with my phone contract, so I don't want to pay again.
Well, you could try other ways of getting to the terminal... without fixing that module, it won't let you get online via USB.
Otherwise, you can just use Bluetooth if your laptop has it, or the free version of WMWifiRouter, while plugging in to charge.
what is the latest free version of wmwifirouter? http://freewareppc.com/communication/wmwifirouter.shtml <- is that it?
walking hot spot is a trial, but even when it expires it still works
@ldrn - thanks for suggesting WMWifiRouter, that's a great app!
After an hour of messing about with it, I'm about 95% of the way there, but when my laptop tries to connect it says "invalid IP address"
Any ideas how to fix this?

Just had a quick look at the link for WifiRouter you posted. In the change log the author says: "- Made the use of DHCP Allocator disabled by default."
This would mean your Netbook basicly guessed an IP address when it's DHCP request failed. Look around for an option to enable the DHCP. I have no idea where it is, never used the app.
Good luck.
Alex is right (and so is Jack, I think) -- and just go to "Options", "Configuration", then "Use DHCP Allocator".
Glad I was able to help.
@Alex_w and ldrn
Thanks for your responses - however, I am still having issues.
I tried my Vista laptop to connect using WMWiFiRouter and it worked first time, however my little webbook can't get an IP address - whether the DHCP is ticked or not, or DNS.
I've now spent about 6 hours trying to work this out and it's annoying not to mention wasted a Sunday!
Are you using any type of encryption on the Ad-hoc connection? That's normaly my main problem when I work with WiFi on *nix. Just seems like the config tools aren't very polished TBH.
@Alex_w
Thanks for your reply - do you mean like WEP or Firewall?
Either/or - I have none enabled.
I found out that my webbook runs on "debian" - does that make a difference? I'm a total newbie when it comes to Linux
*bump*
No more answers?
Hmm... that is strange. I have had trouble connecting with wcid and WEP, but not with NetworkManager (and NetworkManager is usually the default.) Are you sure you are seeing the network name correctly and there is no encryption? A lot of versions of the NetworkManager fail to see Ad-hoc connections.
If that fails, I could walk you through how to *make* your laptop go to the terminal for the fix, but there would be a big risk of breaking something.
* Edit * Okay, this is pretty unslick and inefficient, but if you only use it for web browsing, the awesome Socks Proxy Server pchasco wrote works great for me on a machine without a fixed rndis module -- I am posting using it right now -- although it looks off on a VGA device like ours and the setup on the other end is a bit clunky.
Plug in your Touch pro and tell it to do activesync with internet sharing turned off, download that and run it on your Touch Pro -- leave the defaults and press "start proxy". Then on your linux laptop, go into firefox, type "about:config", and find network.proxy.socks_remote_dns and set it to true (you will only have to do this the first time.) Then in firefox, go to edit, preferences, advanced, network, settings (under connection) and write the IP address Socks Proxy has in its box near the top on your phone in under "SOCKS Host" -- leave the rest blank -- and the port Socks Proxy has as the port (should be 1080.) Make sure it is SOCKS v5 and press okay, and you should be good to browse.
You have to turn proxy mode off on firefox when you are on a normal connection, though. There are some extensions around to make it easier.
Another useful WindowsMobile-side free software I've found really handy for linux is Mocha's free FTP server -- you can use it to browse around on your phone as if you had activesync without telling it to pretend to be a disk.
@ldrn
Thanks for your detailed response and sorry for my late reply.
I'm going to try this tomorrow and will let you know the outcome.
Fingers crossed!
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 on my Thinkpad notebook and on my eee 900 ("easypeasy 1.0"). I had 2 months with internet sharing nd other connection problems until i changed the MTU to 1392 - that did it! I made a new entry "TouchPro" (instead of the "Auto eth2" it used to create by itself), put the correct MAc address and MTU in it - ready.

How were you able to change the MTU settings on your touch PRo? I am trying to tether w my xbox 360 and it keeps saying MTU fail!!!
Not a tablet issue, must be a PC Splashtop remote server issue. I ask this here since Splashtop support is useless as they always point to router settings for connectivity from WAN and this is on the local LAN. I'm curious if any other Asus Transformer MyCloud users have the same issue.
My problem is that all of a sudden I am not able connect to use Splashtop remote on my PC. Whenever I try to start the desktop server I get the message "port not reachable" error. This is using all the default settings from Asus MyCloud and ASUS PC suite software from their site.
When I first installed a couple of weeks ago, I used to be able to be able to remote from my Transformer while on WiFi on my home LAN, and I also set up port forwarding on my router to access remotely over the internet. Everything worked great. But now the server suddenly cant reach port 6783 (probably 6784 and 6785 as well). I tried changing the ports, but every port I use is "Unreachable". I tried a local port scanner and the port is open. There is nothing set in windows firewall to block. It continues to fail even if I turn off the firewall. I reinstalled PC software and still no good.
I am running Win7 home. The only thing I can think of is that there was a Windows Update that may have caused a problem. Has this happened to anyone else?

I just tested on my TF to see if I can connect to my work computer to see if there was any problems (maybe the servers were down at SplashTop or something). Everything connected fine. I've added my computer manually and am using these settings on my tablet: Port # 6783, IP address set, password set, resolution 1280 x 800.
On my Win 7 Pro laptop, I'm using these settings: Start Splashtop Streamer (checked), Enable Internet Discovery (unchecked), redirect all sound to the client (checked), password set and confirmed, Port # 6783 applied, version # 1.5.0.1 Splashtop Streamer. Also, for Win 7 security settings I have: Network Firewall (On), Virus Protection (On), Spyware protection (On), UAC (On), Network Access Protection (Off) and I'm not running any additional security software.
So, do all your settings seem to be set correctly?
I'm convinced that its the Splashtop Streamer install on the PC. Every other network app is working fine, just this one shows "port is not reachable" no matter which port I set. Once that is solved I'm sure my TF will be able to discover it.
I'm going to try a second PC on my network just to confirm that its not a LAN issue.
Did a few hours of searching, couldn't find something similar enough that helped fix it, so here goes what I've done, and my problem...There are two problems, but I'm thinking they MAY be related....I'm more worried about splashtop though.
PROBLEMS: I cannot get any devices to see the transformer or vice-versa. Using MyNet, I can't see my PS3 or computer, nor can they see it. Also, with splashtop, after installing it all (including the HD app), I can't get them to see each other in my home network. For MyNet, when it's loaded on the transformer, the left-hand side only shows the transformer, and doesn't show any of the other DLNA devices in my household (PS3 up and running, and computer)
They are BOTH connected to my home network. My router (netgear 624v4) sees all the devices as "attached" devices, and all of them can connect to the web and browse, but don't seem to connect to each other. I tried setting up a manual IP address using both the in-network IP and the out of network IP (modem's IP I guess), but nothing.
I don't think this is an issue with ports as I've successfully forwarded them, and as I understand, this shouldn't be an issue in my house anyway. I'm really wanting to remote into the computer, mainly for hulu.com, while at home on the couch, and the MyNet is not too big an issue, but I'm surprised it doesn't work with my PS3.
I have a Netgear 624v4 router, an Actiontec GT701 modem. I have the modem assigning a static IP to the router (192.168.0.2, with the modem being .0.1), and I assigned "reserved" ip's within the router to my computer, PS3, and transformer respectively so I can make sure they get the same IP each time, and the right ports stay forwarded on the right systems.
Really frustrated that even a base application like MyNet isn't seeing the devices and I'm wondering if it's something with the network or router since they can't seem to communicate that way, or maybe something DLNA-wise that I have to do in order to get it all working.
I appreciate any help I can get, and any other tips to try to narrow down the problem. Thank you.
Alexi
Ok. UPDATE:
Reset my router AND my DSL modem. Opened the ports on BOTH the modem and the router (not necessary for inhouse splashtop, but I thought in case it didnt work, maybe that'd help with remote splashtop access).
Turns out, splashtop ONLY works on the main user account. So I have to try to access it through my wife's account on the computer. One problem solved. TF also finding the computer for MyNet but not PS3 yet. Gonna open the ports for the PS3 (just in case), but I have a feeling that's not the issue.

Hi everyone,
I'm having issues with ad-hoc wifi connections on my transformer. Unlike most other people, I'm not trying to tether to a phone, I'm trying to connect with a computer so I can achieve a lower latency when I'm using some android pro audio control apps.
The problem is that the transformer sees the ad-hoc network, but cannot connect it (can't get an IP). I tried all different forms of security, including no security. Nothing works.
I'm running stock 8.6.5.21, rooted. No custom kernels or custom ROMs. It's a B60 pad, so it was rooted via nvflash.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
You need to either configure a DHCP server on your computer so that your TF101 is allocated an IP, or you need to configure a static IP on your TF101 so that it can talk to the computer.

Thanks for the answer, but doesn't that get done automatically by Windows 7? If not, that seems kind of stupid...
I can confirm that it is not a windows 7 issue. My ipod touch connects to my computer-based ad-hoc network just fine, without any IP configuration or extra software. My pad still refuses to. Help?
Thanks!
I had the same issues at the beginning. I switched kernels and roms but none of them worked out of the box with ad-hoc network on win7. But windows 7 gives you the possibility (except starter edition) to set up a virtual router which works perfectly for me (I don't know if it is a sign of small latency that I was able to use splashtop with less than 1 second offset...). Just google the term "virtual router" and you will find a pretty nice open source tool. An alternative would be connectify, but this always made my laptop fan scream after a while.
Thanks, I'll check it out and report back.
I recetly bought an Asus tf700t and I am having problems connecting it to other computers on the network wirelessly. What I woud like to do is connect it to my Windows XP machine that is acting as my file server (and hardwired to the router) so that I can stream movies or access documents (text/spreadsheets/etc). I have tried using ES File Explorer, Astro (with the add on), MyCloud (with Splashtop installed on the machine), MyNet, and SharesFinder.
SharesFinder has been the only app to see the other devices (all hardwired) to see any of the other computers. I have searched several forums and seen others with this problem, but all have very poor explanations of the solutions (I NEED step by step by step instructons apparently). Asus tech support was USELESS (telling me that it was a software problem) and Best Buy (where I bought the tablet) wants to charge me with no guarentee of a solution.
I would like to say that my network is setup correctly since I can stream and share files with other devices but since they are all hardwired I didn't know if that was part of my problem. The tablet can connect to the internet with no problems.
Any point in the right direction would be GREAT! (And if you include instructions PLEASE include LOTS of details!)
If it's just for streaming, have you tried BS Player Free? I use that to connect to my desktop and stream stuff.
All you really have to do is make sure the stuff you want to share IS shared and then put the local ip in BS Player Free. It works almost the exact same way for ES File Explorer as it does for BS Player. I think I followed this guide:
http://www.howtogeek.com/120882/how...ders-and-stream-videos-over-wi-fi-on-android/
Still no luck
No luck...I'm sharing a folder on a Windows7 machine and several on my WindowsXP server. The two Windows machines can "talk" to each other. My wife's work laptop (not sure of the OS) can connect to either machine. Both my Blu Ray player and set top media box can access and stream media from both.
Tech support swears it's a software issue or an issue with my router but I'm not even 5% sure that they are right. I have tried SEVERAL different apps and configurations with no luck. I don't beleive it's a compatability issue since I have read numerous forum posts/websites where people have their Asus tablet connecting to and sharing files with WindowsOS computers.
Should I call back tech support and have them send me a new tablet?
That sounds very strange... Do you have any other Android you can test it with? It seems like you have tried almost everything I can think of. The only thing left I can think of, is the way the folder is shared. Are you sure it is set to "everyone"?
That is all I can think of, sorry.
Thanks for your help..I think I'm going to call Asus and see if they'll warranty this one or buy it back. Too frustrated to want to continue messing with it.
I'd assume that Asus sees no defect here. If you install and run Overlook Fing, can you see the other devices in your network?
Overlook fing sees everythng but my apple devices...now what?

OK, that proves that it is indeed a software problem, that the tablet is not defective, and that your network configuration seems to be correct.
So if some app does not work as expected, state exactly what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead, including any error messages - maybe someone is then able to help you.
K...
1.) SharesFinder
Scan network (finds shares I am looking for)
Smb client Ip: (IP address of computer with files)
Username: (name I login to that computer with)
Password: (password)
failed to connect: 0.0.0.0<00>/(ip address I entered above)
2.) ES File Explorer
LAN Shares - scan - Nothing appears
If I manually enter LAN server - Domain: (blank)
Server: (IP address of computer with files)
Username: & Password: (Same as above)
Login failure. This may be cause by WiFi is off (Can connect to internet wirelessly), SMB server is out of network scope, The IP address is invalid, Blocked by the Firewall (have tried with all but the router's firewall off), SMB service is off
If I try as anonymous or guest or with a domain - same results
3.) MyNet
Please turn on DLNA-enabled devices within the same Wi-Fi network - I'm streaming to my Blu Ray with one as I type this but nothing shows up
4.) MyCloud
Pulls up Splashtop remote but no files, computers, or other network devices (I have installed and running)
5.) Overlook fing
This sees all my non-Apple network devices but not sure how I can connect using it
6.) Astro File Manager w/ SMB Module
Scan Local Network - No Windows shares found on network
7.) Teamviewer
Works for remote control of computer but not what I am looking to do
Still having issues...anybody have some ideas?
I can only tell you that I tried SharesFinder and ES File Explorer, and both work for me (with a Linux Samba server on the other side). Which firmware version are you on?
First, I would like to thank everyone for their help with my problem. I really appreciate it.
Last night I went home and re-evaluated my setup. Here is what I found:
My Windows7 desktop, WindowsXP desktop, Blu Ray, HP printer and Roku can all "talk" to each other and are hardwired to my Netgear router or switch connected to the router. I also have a WindowsXP laptop that can "talk" to the other computers, but only when hardwired to the router. All my wireless devices can connect to the internet, but cannot access network reseources or "talk" to the hardwired devices.
So, it looks like I have an issue with my wireless network setup. None of the desktops or printer have wireless cards. Do they need to have wireless cards in order to be able to connect with other wireless devices? Can I setup my router to handle this and use it as an access point for my wireless devices?

Dag...have you tried forgetting the network on the Asus and then establishing it again?
How about resetting the router - pulling the plug not a full reset.
That's about all I can think of....
I was having an issue where only the android devices (all wireless) COULD see my shared files/folders on a wired PC. Other wired/wireless PCs could NOT. Lucky for me just a reboot to that PC took care of the issue.
