Mine Great to see another alternative! Will report back
The M8 is off to the races. Thanks for this!
Note: this is version 2.7.0.0 not .3. However, I was able to do a backup to the sdcard without issue

+1 Works good for me so far too! I just made a backup to my ext sd card on my first try. Maybe a tad laggy sometimes but def the best TWRP so far. :good: Thank you sir!

It's more stable IMO, so far... The other one had issues with re booting back to the main menu for me, especially when trying to make a backup to the external sd card.

This is the most up To date twrp you can get. Rolling release. Versions do not matter
Can someone confirm that backup to exfat works?

This is how it was for me. I will flash it and edit with results for you.
Edit: It flashed successfully. I just used the name of the file without renaming it to twrp.img. I am going to test it out now.
I flashed with file name as is. Flashed fine.

Thanks. I'm not at home to adb flash another recovery if this one doesn't work lol. Also do you know if it will flash with flashify? That's the only way I can flash it while at work. Thanks again for the help!

I've read reports of flashify working. Don't quote me on it though. I'm at home with my comp. Used adb. Also, it was other versions of recoveries.

Honestly, I have never used flashify. I am in the process of making a backup so that I can verify it will restore correctly. Individuals in the other twrp thread used flashify to flash that version though.
Flashify works fine. I flashed this over top of the other TWRP using flashify. Works great when you are not by a computer!

hi,
I need to download clockwork recovery, but unfortunately the site is always of-line
is there anyone who has one or a mirror?
thanks
Get Rom manager from market then there is a option in it to download clockwork and flash it to your device.

Try www.google.com next time?
sorry, I thought there was a nexus for the clockwork s, I did not think it was always the
same for all devices ...
then if you search on google always refers to the site is offline
You have to flash the recovery and than install root explorer and rename the recovery script to something else so that clockwork recovery won't erase itself after reboot. I had that problem but doing that fixed my problem.

Here is a flashable zip of twrp 2.6.3.0. Flash in your current custom recovery. It'll replace your current twrp or cwm recovery with twrp 2.6.3.0. http://d-h.st/mCj

2.6.3.0 < 2.6.3.1.
2.6.3.1 is newer and thus contains changes like bug fixes but may also present new issues

Thanks 2.6.3.1 was causing my phone to hang on Samsung splash screen on reboot so I went back to 2.5 didn't want any problems causing me to have to get a new phone since this one is on MDL. I'll give 2.6.3.0 a whirl

Id stay away from 2.6.3.0 it'll give you issues as well. 2.5 based on works best. I find cwm 3.0.3.2 very stable as well

I am very embarrassed to say that in trying to root my phone I have wiped the OS. I have been trying all afternoon to sort out the problem. I can get into twrp recovery and am able to sideload both of the ROMS here on XDA but neither of them work.
I have no idea what to try next. I have downloaded official firmware but have no idea how to install this using fastboot or TWRP sideload. (It is not a ZIP file)
I am in a bit of a state - please help!

Do not flash that file. You will brick your phone. I cannot seem to find a ODIN flashable for the N5 yet, so I would wait till another xda member can link you to one.

wtf
There will never be something like ODIN for a Nexus Device
I need to be clear. I used the guide above using N5 firmware from Google. It worked a treat. I think I will leave rooting for today. No idea what went wrong!

Here is the link to the factory images.
https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/hammerhead-krt16m-factory-bd9c39de.tgz
Extract the two archives using 7zip and then double click the "flash all" or you can wait until I release my toolkit with them tommorow.
Good Luck,

Hello - many thanks for the suggestion. When I run your rooting tool I get - "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command".

As stated in the title, I want the option of stock gapps on my m8 (primarily the gallery). Can I flash, or extract and install, the version for kitkat found on http://goo.im/gapps//gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip? Will this cause any conflicts? Is there any easier way to install the stock kitkat gallery app on my M8?
Thank you.

Does twrp ver 2.7.0.0 work on a 4.4.3 rom ?
Has anyone tried it?
is there any problem؟
plz
It doesn't work on any Rom. It's completely independent.

But. I assume that you flash recovery using apps like Flashify or Goo im, right?

I flash via fastboot as well. I was trying to say that if he is concerned about compatibility is because he maybe uses goo im instead of fastboot method.
So, if he used fastboot instead of apps, he wouldn't have that confusion.
