previously my moto G's battery lasted like 5-7 days with light usage. now it's only last like 1 day with standby time. due to this battery drain I rooted the device and tried CyanogenMod 11 too.. then I revert back to my stock version due to some application instability with cyanogenmod but the issue still remains after trying many tricks, including blocking Google Play services and many more ..
is there any efficient methods to improve standby time and identify battery hogging processes ? or is this battery drain a normal issue in Android 4.4.3 ?
Please help.. I desperately need more help here ..
Flash Faux Kernel and install DS Battery Saver.
hey guys found this very helpfull video showing how to enable battery percentage on our moto g and the good thing is no root required

My moto G's battery is giving me loads of problems. It is draining really fast even in normal use. I need to charge my phone 3 times every 2 days. I installed Battery Doctor but no effect. Is there any way to increase my battery life. It has been less than 3 months since i have bought the phone. Should i consider replacing the battery for a newer one? Will it be covered under the warranty? If not, how much does a new battery costs? Help will be highly appreciable

You are going to need to post you phone information
What is your SOT [screen On Time] from a full battery charge of usage till battery runs low?
Stock Rom - or - Custom ROM
Which exact version and Date [Build Number] and Android Version
Which Baseband
Which Carrier
Rooted and Unlocked bootloader?
Other things like what gapps you are running
what social media apps you are running [these are known, especially anything facebook related, to be battery hogs]
What launcher you run, is "OK Google" enabled?
Bluetooth on/off?
Gps on/off?
How much wi-fi
How much phone calls, etc do you do...
no one here knows what you do on it but you, so you'll have to fill us in to be able to provide any help
Normal use to you may not be normal to others...

[RC-FAQ] >> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto G [Updated : 2014/10/31]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537119
THIS FAQ IS MADE FOR Moto G 'old' editions (NOT FOR 4G/LTE MODEL or 2d Gen [aka 2014])
OR the appropriate one for your model...
.
Yes I am using the OLD MotoG
I am using stock ROM
I am attaching a screenshot for Baseband version, kernel version, system version
I am using Airtel connection
The phone is unrooted
I am using the Facebook messenger, even though my account is linked with Google+ but I dont use it
I am using the default launcher
Yes Google Now is enabled but in MotoG it runus only when we open the Google Now application
Bluetooth is off 95% time
GPS is always off
Hardly 3-4 phone calls a day
Wifi is on for around 4 hours a day (Battery drains in less than 2 hours & i have to charge again for further use) & i don't use Mobile Data
Suppose I go to college with 99% battery, then at the time of coming back home i.e after 8 hours, the battery is 50%. In those 8 hours, I would have listened to 20 mins of music, recieved 2 calls & played "Stick Cricket" for maximum 15 mins. Rest I would have used the phone only to check time. Only this much activity & my phone battery goes down by half.
Is there any way to solve it?

I would recommend trying this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
If that doesn't improve your battery life, do a nandroid backup, and then factory data reset.
Re-install your apps and hopefully whatever is draining your battery will be fixed.
Question. I leave my battery mod on all the time, and I was just wondering if that would hurt my battery in the long run. I have a moto z droid edition
Moto updated the software and now you can turn off the battery until you actually want to use it.
Since I started using the G7 I've noticed some significant battery drain for normal usage. I couldn't make it a full day (w/ 3-4 SOT) before i needed to charge it. After adjusting every setting I could find, even doing a factory reset, I believe I may have stumbled onto the issue... Moto Display.
After disabling Moto Display, I've seen a boost to my battery life (picture below of current status). I believe the battery drain comes from Moto Displays 'Approach to Wake' option which keeps the sensor on, and sucking up battery. You could try and turn that option off instead of disabling Moto Display entirely.
I haven't seen any postings about this online, but I have read a lot of postings about the poor battery life on the G7 - and this may be the culprit, It has definitely improved my battery life and may help yours. As always - Your mileage may very.
- Disabling Moto Display
Code:
Settings App > Apps & Notifications > See All > Moto Display > [COLOR="red"]Disable[/COLOR]
OR
- Turning off A2WU
Code:
Moto App > Moto Peek > Approach to Wake Up > [COLOR="Red"]Turn Off[/COLOR]
Trying it out, thanks for the tip. Will let you know how it goes.
One more screenshot for the day...
I do wish I took some screenshots of how piss poor my battery life was before disabling A2WU. Its such a night and day difference.
I guess this is the culprit for bad battery life on my G7+ too. I'll check back here in a couple of days. Great you found this out!
Just disabled Moto display here. I had approach to wake up disabled from day one though. i hope this works. I had to get my mother a replacement phone after she broke her old moto e 2015. Got her the MotoOne Macro...the battery life seems to be almost static its that good in comparison to my G7plus Her phone has only lost 5% in 24 hours with 4g on, and my G7plus lost 40% on standby with battery saver on and airplane mode Funny thing is the system says nothing is draining the battery. I also uninstalled my Norton antivirus as I am wondering if that is a hidden cultprit too. Will have to see how the next few days go
