Greetings folks!
Bought my International N9005 Note 3 yesterday and I'm extremely surprised of the functionality, battery life, power... everything! I had Xperia Arc S (1.4 GHz single core with 512 MB RAM - a huge step forward) so far, which was about to reach the end of it's time.
First day, I didn't manage to actually empty the battery, even though it got pretty heavy use. Especially by some classmates, who got extremely addicted in Sketchbook application and the opportunities for drawing pictures on it
Got the phone with 4.4.2 on top of it, saving root for later (don't wanna kill KNOX yet). No issues have occurred so far, GPS and all other features work fine, no reboots either, from what I have been reading here.
There are so many features, that it's gonna take ma a few days to actually discover them all
Anyway, great to see so many folks here and active ongoing development.
Welcome to the monster beast of all devices

Welcome mate and i hope you will enjoy this great (no pun intended) phone
I'm not really much of a developer due to lack of time, mainly focusing on helping fellow community members with guides and tutorials
Anyway, I have a firmware with XEO country code (Poland) at the moment. Attached a screenshot from Phone Info app.
According to sammobile.com, I should be able to receive somewhat newer firmware.

Refreshed within the phone, also checked via Kies, both claim that I have latest firmware. No region lock. Any ideas about that?
If anyone wonders - No, it is not a clone, S Pen works while hovering as well and all other tests also pass.

I find it good that Nexus one is running it, then I might be able to get a port for my HTC deisre
Great finding, thanks!

All the screenshots so far have the notification bar cropped out, Google must be cooking up something so big with the notification bar that even the leakers can't bare to reveal yet.
One bad thing though, if the rumours is right then Google will release a new phone around Christmas. I guess this will be with more powerful hardware which will be able to run honeycomb or something.
So then requirments might increase siginficantly to 3.0, which means i need a new phone soon
Well our Nexus's are ready now for Ginger & co.

It's not a rumor, Nexus Two (or whatever they call it) it's going to be announced probably
in November 8th. Manufactured by Samsung. It's the same phone as the Galaxy S
but a little thinner and with a curved back.
Eric Schmidt: "Initially, Google felt that they needed to build a device to help Android along so they worked with HTC to create the Nexus One handset. Schmidt says: “The idea a year and a half ago was to do the Nexus One to try to move the phone platform hardware business forward. It clearly did. It was so successful, we didn't have to do a second one. We would view that as positive but people criticised us heavily for that. I called up the board and said: 'Ok, it worked. Congratulations - we're stopping'. We like that flexibility, we think that flexibility is characteristic of nimbleness at our scale."

Bollocks! I knew I should've waited!! I loved my Nexus One until it was stolen. I loved the fact that everything came there first, as far as updates etc. It was so obviously Google's own phone. I didn't like that I had to use Dialer-One and Launcher Pro though (not crazy about stock Android dialler).
I love my Galaxy S's hardware, but I'm not loving this RFS stuff. How can I recommend a phone to people if they're going to have to lagfix it.. How do I know some OTA update isn't going to break it a year down the line and then they all start phoning me ?!
A Galaxy-S Nexus would be cool I reckon ..
This is a set of rooted and unrooted Odin One-Click Packages. If you're unfamiliar with these, it is the factory firmware loaded in a compacted version of odin and flashing is executed in a single click. No need to check boxes, or worry about what slots to load etc. I do not own this version of the s3 so these have not been tested. They're packed in self-extracting 7z archives. They will not affect your flash count.
Windows PC with Samsung Drivers installed is required.
Shouldn't be any problems but I am not responsible for any that may arise.

Main reason being is that sxtpdevelopers is the only reason I got the tools and instructions to make these. In addition to that, sextape is a big contribitor to alot of great stuff including most of the leaks we recieve and the site survives off of ads and donations so I do what I can to increase traffic. (plus Im not a big fan of this site as it ****s on the people that contribute most of their time helping others so I dont mind directing traffic elsewhere.)

There are a lot of people that came to the GIII from other devices, and the big bad foreign God Odin seems to scare them. IMOA it's a very underutilized and overlooked tool. 1 click and you have a new base band (modem), kernal, ROM, RPM, PIT and as long as you can get into download mode it doesn't matter what state of confusion your phone is in at the time, it's saved my arse more times than I can count.

Being a sprint user I am not 100% on how the locked thing works. To my understanding tho you needed something special for an unlocked bootloader to flash so there was no way to load it into this. So no

Guys, this is really tiring, how many people here got over 560 MBps? I guess almost everyone. What of below 540 MBps?
Maybe one person. Also, I'm getting 780+MBps as almost everyone here(some 800+MBps). Is UFS 2.0 able to give such speeds?
I'm not defending Huawei but it is very evident that as of time of asking, UFS 2.1 is having a landslide victory in the polls lol.
Why am I writing this you ask? Well, for one because I'm sick and tired of all the knee-jerk reactions and the naysayers coming all over trying to find fault and make us feel bad about buying the Mate 9.
Well, I'm very glad I did. This is a phone that whooped every phone's ass out there including giving S8 a good run for its money.
I love the phone, its speed, camera, heat management and battery. So please vote so we can have a numerical idea rather than comments only as it'll give a better perspective.
Thanks.
End of!!!
EDIT:
Please, before running Androbench, go to phone manager and optimize. After that, run the clean function then go to Androbench and test.
If it is above 500MBps, you should select UFS2.1

I guess he wants confirmation to self, that he didn't purchase something aweful?
No guys, reason is not personal cos I got over 780MBps. And as I mentioned above I care less about benchmark statistics cos it's the same phone dishing out a can of ass whooping on other challengers.
The reason is very simple and that, I also explained above.
Any person visiting any other UFS threads has no idea of the ratio or percentage. The person can only go through posts and try to make sense of number of people with 2.1 or 2.0. Hence, visitors of this thread are not required to post but rather vote. In that respect, anyone who opens this thread will be met with a more complete and detailed information of test results by Huawei Mate 9 users.
That's the aim, not to take people away from other threads because from my own point of view, I've gone through 2 threads on UFS and I have no frigging idea which one (2.0 or 2.1) is more and by which percentage.

I don't have the phone, but i think the problem goes when, someone pays for something, they pay for everything that is advertised, so some people have rights to be mad
Anyways i'm sure the phone flies anyways with UFS 2.0, but imagine if someone gets eMMC 5.1, that is really really slow, or LPDDR3
Besides all, Mate 9 is a great phone, it is just Huawei doing shady things that makes people to think different about them (like removing the UFS 2.1 from Mate 9 Page)

Did not find a general Meizu forum on XDA so I decided to start a thread here.
I got Meizu X8 two days ago. Seems to be a great phone for the price. Paid only $202 on the Meizu Official Store on Aliexpress.
Highlights.
Snapdragon 710
4/64, 6/128
IPS 6.15" 1080x2200
IMX362 f.1/9 Phase detection with dual pixel
3210mAh
151.2mm*74.6mm*7.8mm
USB-C
First impression is very good. I have previously owned Meizu 15 Plus and Pro 6 Plus, both of these phones had a lot of lag and stutter, X8 is much smoother and overall faster. Battery life seems good too. Drain around 12% per hour when the screen is on. Around 3-4% over 8 hours at night. Respectable stats taking into consideration that the battery is only 3200mAh. However, the best thing about X8 is the design. It looks much better compared to the Xiaomi Redmi-series. Love the small bezels and tiny notch, also build quality is really solid thanks to the metal frame around the phone. The IPS-panel is also very good and better than other phones with a similair price. I would say the screen is actually better than Pocophone F1 which I owned one month ago. On the bad side, swipe gestures are not as good as on MIUI.

I made a quick and dirty photo comparison with Redmi Note 5 today. Watch it here:

I've just received this 3 days ago. Would agree with everything you have mentioned so far. Great phone for the price & like you, I had the Pro6 plus as well & this is a much better model. Battery does seem to last quite well considering it isn't that big, screen is nice & vibrant.
No real complaints so far apart from losing the ability to root the phone as with all models up until Flyme 7. I did try using the Meizu root tool but they haven't released/allowed it for the X8 yet.

Thanks alot for this! I was looking through the forum for the right Google camera APK but could only find the 16th version. Installed & working well.
May I ask what firmware/version you have? I was sent the Russian/Global version which means I can't change to either "A" or "G" so may be limited with future firmware upgrades or at least playing around with different versions like I used to with my Pro6 plus.
I've searched for anyway to change however there doesn't appear to be any way to do this currently.

I am using the global firmware, version: 7.1.7.1G. I bought mine on the Meizu Store on Aliexpress.
When I got the phone a earlier version of G-firmware was installed. However, it was not possible to update it OTA so I downloaded 7.1.7.1G. from Meizus homesite and made a clean flash from the recovery.
I dont expect a lot of updates on the global firmware. Meizu have a really poor track record when it comes to updating g-firmware. However, this phone runs great as it is now so I am satisfied anyway.

Thanks & yes, I don't expect much in the way of global updates. I was more thinking that with the G firmware one has the option to change to the A version which gets regular updates. I like playing around with different firmwares but having the RU version it won't be possible unless someone finds a way.

Sounds really odd that it is not possible to flash china firmware on your device. I have had Meizu phones with "vendor roms" but always flashed china firmware on these.
It is usually possible to flash china firmware on devices with global firmware (but not the other way around). I had Meizu 15 Plus with the chinese firmware, had to pay $15 to a guy who changed the device ID to global, it was then possible to flash the global firmware. Perhaps you can send him a message and ask about your problem: https://www.facebook.com/nguyenle.huu.5
I will probably stay on global firmware on my device. Android Auto and google contact sync does not work on chinese firmware.

Apparently with Flyme 7 they have removed that option. I was digging around at 4PDA & everyone there confirmed it wasn't possible if RU version was on the phone. Not sure why this would be as the only apparent differences I can see are specific Russian app's which are all linked to Yandex, perhaps there is some agreement between the two?
Thanks for the contact, I'll ask the question to see what's possible....

Yes, ask him. He might be able to help you.
Another option would be to sell the phone second hand and buy a new one with global or chinese firmware. It is dirt cheap now. Meizu Note 9 also seems like a good phone.
I tested both the stock camera and the gcam quite a lot yesterday. Night sight on gcam works great and is really fantastic . However, I do feel that the stock camera is as good as gcam in most other scenarios. That is a bit surprising since on the Xiaomi-phones I have owned, gcam is usally much better than the stock camera across the board.

I did the same today as I was with the kids watching a school Easter parade! I found the same as you noted, both seem to work as well in daylight as did the video mode in both. Night definitely works better with Gcam.
Ehm...
I want to unlock this device.
Is it possible?
I have this mobile since May, so far it is going very well and I am waiting for Flyme 8 that will leave for December. Thanks for the apk of the gcam I tried several and they did not work.
Install the gcam but the image remains frozen when I want to take a picture

It was, now unlock tool and twrp is lost somewhere one of the chinese internet pages. It is a shame, though that phone born with treble but meizu is not updating android version, they dont even need to change any vendor, and also there is no developer support to do anything for treble. Looks like we are stuck with flyme and android 8.1 forever

Clear gcam's data from setrings/apps. And be sure you have the right version. Also some gcams doesn't shot without hdr+ is open.
Install another version of gcam but I prefer to use the native camera app for now
As the title states a gig of memory is missing from my S22 Ultra. Under Device Care it shows 12gb, but under memory in Developer Options it show 11. BTW I have a Tab S7 with 6gb and it shows 6gb under both. Any ideas?
Safe to say it is not missing there was a discussion few years back on exactly the same question
What's running services show in Developer options? It should add up... unless Android 12 has some more new lame tricks.

This one?
I don't know my N10+ shows it as 12gb... across the board.
Here is a 3rd party app showing what's mentioned in the linked XDA thread.

Mine is showing 12 in both ???
Edit.... nope looks like I can't count, lol. Its 11 in running services too, maybe 1gb is used to help the gpu
1 2 3
1 The phone info Samsung, app is showing less than 11gb
2 Dev tools is showing the same
3 Another dev info app shows the same, strange
Shows 11. LOL. Even stranger is ATT specs has it as 8. Freakin' weird.

Don't these have a new kind of ram management? It doesn't apply to me so it's a passing curiosity at this point. You may be able to alter its settings. There are indications it doesn't work that well under heavy ram usage but I may be mistaken.
Either way I don't like changes like this... Gookill has always been a progressive mess that can't leave well enough alone. Invariably Google will keep "improving" a product until they break it.
The concepts of conservatism and pragmatism aren't within their intellectual comprehension or company policies

Yeh, probably not the best way to explain it. No big deal. Just nitpicking.

my guess, and thats all it is, is its reserved for gpu to access or something, maybe the game booster app in my mods/apps/links thread makes use of the 1gb ram not showing
And yet another entry into the field:

Virtual ram, ah there it... isn't.
This is apparently Samsung's fail... this may not work so well... you may want to play with the settings.
I have serious doubts the hardware architecture can effectively support the bandwidth for effective virtual memory vs pure ram memory.
One bottleneck later... the 3yo N10+ is whipping the S22U to a pulp once the ram fills up (see 2nd link).
Why not just slam 16gb of ram into this puppy instead Sammy? As much as a battery hog as it is already this would have had a negligible impact on power consumption. Sammy skimped on expandable storage capacity (cheap) and ram (not as cheap). No wonder Samsung doesn't like the term power user anymore or the actual power users themselves... it's cheaper not to cater to them. I guess... but if you don't rock it, somebody will
