Anyone with time not set problems? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I bought an M8 last week from Verizon.
I have perm root, s-off running stock kitkat rom.
Yesterday I installed Xposed and have added several modules.
Late yesterday I got a system pop-up on my phone saying that the time was not set(It was not able to set it from the data feed of the phone) and asked me to set the time and time zone.
Well the time was fine so I dismissed it.
Well I got it again a little while ago so I looked at it closer. The time was correct but the time zone was not. I am in US Central. It gave me the option of choosing Eastern, Central (Central America) as well as others. Central (US) was not an option.
I didn't make any adjustments to anything to do with time in the modules.
The modules I have installed are:
Buttered Toast
Chrome New Tab
Custome Share
DoubleTapToSleep
GravityBox(KK)
Sense 6 Toolbox
XBlast Tools
and XposedStatusBar Mods.
Those are enabled with various items in each.
I also have Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons installed but not activated.
What module could be causing this? I assume it is one of them since it started after I installed Xposed.
If it is not Xposed, what could it be?
Next time it pops up I will log click the notification and get the app info that is sending the notification but I am sure it is the system.
Any help is appreciated.
I found nothing searching in here or google for the problem.

I had the same thing happen to me last week. Pretty much the same exact thing. Central US here and it only offered the Central America one. I selected it and haven't seen it pop up since. I just took a look in my time settings right now. It's set for Central just as it should be. Not the Central America thing.
I also have xposed installed. Only have 2 modules though. Sense 6 toolbox is one of them so that would be the only common denominator between us in that respect. However, I just installed xposed a few days ago and I'm sure it's been close to a week since I got the time popup. Don't think I had xposed installed at the time. If I get another one, I'll pay closer attention to what's happening at the time. I just pretty much dismissed it as a bug of some sort and forgot about it. So, I don't know what to tell you. At least you know you're not alone though.

It did it again to me today. The time was correct but I had a notification. It was the android system that sent the notification.
The missing "central US" is not that big of a deal. I can use eastern right now because of daylight saving time.

[Q] Random power-downs in TriForceROM 3.0 on Samsung Galaxy s4

I would post this in the Developer forum, in reply to a poster who has the same problem, but I just registered and therefore do not meet the requirements to post there.
I'm wondering if anyone else has observed this behavior. In short, I installed TriForceROM 3.0 (after performing a "Wipe User Data" operation in TWRP 2.6.0.0) and all was well for about 12 hours. During the ROM installation, I chose the "Standard" option, as I believe it's called. (I didn't elect to customize anything.)
After 12-18 hours of having the ROM installed, I noticed that my phone was simply powered-off. I hit the power button and nothing. Then I held-down the power button, which is how I normally power-on the device, and then realized that the device was, in fact, powered-off when I came back to it after a few hours of being in the other room.
After powering-on the device, the same thing happened a few hours later, and the issue seems to be occurring more and more frequently as time passes.
I have not changed any of the ROMs settings, and I haven't installed any type of third-party "tweaking" app.
Another individual has the same problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43942167&postcount=1466
Could this be due to kernel, power, or CPU settings? I noticed that when I opened KTweaker for the first time, the application warned me:
"Your KThermal values do not match current, Apply values?"
and
"Your vibration Strength does not match current, Apply Vibration Strength value?" (this one seems unrelated)
The CPU temperature seems to hover around 45 degrees Celsius. (Is this a normal range?)
Another observation is that when I long-press the Home button (to bring-up the app-switcher), I see a little Android icon with the title "MIPErrorActivi...". If I click on it, I'm simply dumped to the Home Screen. I don't know if this is at all related.
Thoughts or suggestions, anyone?
My phone is model SPH-L720.
Thanks in advance!
I went into KTweaker and clicked "Load Defaults" and rebooted, and everything seems to be stable. No reboots in 18 hours or so.
Also, the ROM author has mentioned this issue, as well as an interim fix (related to the KT kernel), and says that he will release v 3.1 within a few days, which should fix the issue entirely.
Good stuff!
UPDATE:
Well, the phone rebooted itself, eventually, so setting KTweaker settings to defaults was not the solution.
However, I downloaded the kernel update that the ROM author suggested ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288309 ) and that does seem to have fixed the problem. No reboots in over two days. Yay!
An interesting aside is that with the new kernel and accompanying KTweaker app, the warnings that I was receiving with the old kernel when launching KTweaker disappeared. All is well!

Thanks for noting this. I actually started my account for the same reason, but haven't had enough useful input to get the posts to leave feedback in the dev forums. I sure don't want to spam useless posts

Haha. Well, glad I could be of help and that we both garner a couple of "useful posts" out of it.
I'm pretty sure that the reboots continued for me (although, less frequently with the kernel patch in place), but upgrading to TriForceROM 3.1 seems to have fixed the issue altogether. It's worth noting that I chose a different kernel this time (I forget what it's called; the name is four letters, all capitals). No reboots in the first 24 hours.
I doubt it makes a difference, but I also upgraded to the MF9 firmware from Samsung. Happy to answer any questions in that regard, too.

I would wager that you moved over to AGAT's. Several users reported lag with that kernel, so I stuck with KT.
After more reboots and a lot of tweaking, I've got my issue nailed down. Raising the voltages on the low end cpu frequencies (where a phone would normally be with screen off) has corrected the stability issues. I also had to up the voltages at the high side. That helped Antutu to run for a while, but now that's crashing back to desktop for me. When it does run, I usually hit around 25,000 with the Triforce 3.0 + Ktoons kernel with overclock enabled. I have not overclocked the GPU (yet). Running KTmod, but not crossbreeder.
I may back this all up tonight and reflash with Triforce 3.1. I've been fighting battery issues: Google Location Services and Android Widgets Pro seem to be behaving badly.
I feel like I'm very close to a fast, stable rom install with good battery life. Once I get there, I'll wait a couple months until the existing ROM's and kernels are polished a little more. And now I'm one post closer to being productive in the Dev forum.
That's the one; AGAT's kernel. I haven't noticed any sluggishness with the ROM's (and or kernel's) default settings. So, I'm happy!
No random power-downs or any other abnormal behavior since upgrading to 3.1 and switching to AGAT's three days ago.
I don't know if it was upgrading from 3.0 to 3.1 or switching kernels that fixed the random power-downs; I'm just glad I have a very fast and stable ROM at this point.
My battery life has been good. Moderate usage throughout an 8-10-hour work-day leaves me with about 70% battery when I get home.
My hat's off to the developer. I think I'll kick him a few bucks.

Theifspy&Pop-ups

I'm rooted, stock 4.4.4, GB, Franco and the whole 9. I had TheifSpy on for a lil over a month, during that time i would get a pop-up saying Device-Management (TheifSpy) has stopped. Didn't get a chance to pay for the full version so didn't pay any mind to it, thinking they just wanted me to hurry up and pay for full version. In the last couple of weeks i started to get not only that pop-up but also these pop-ups too, com.google.process.location and Google Play services has stopped. Sent the report that came with the pop-ups thinking maybe something on google end. 4 days ago i then got a another pop-up from google that i should remove TheifSpy cause my can be spy on or something like dat. I try to do some research on this but didn't get any answer so i just gone on ahead and remove it thinking I can re-install it later and the pop-ups would stop but it didn't now. Now after every reboot i get the com.google.process.location & google play services in clusters before it stops and now i notice my weather app is stuck on a city i haven't bee since early last week, also i still my light for emails & texts work but not for my miss calls now too. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Factory reset.
Thanks, sorry bout taking to long reply but i did the wipe and use TI to put back my apps/settings back and the same thing was still happening so i started troubleshoot and found the culprit it was Xposed Mod Disable Location Consent. Took awhile but i got it done, so thanks again.

[Q] How do I get rid of SW-update notification ?

Since I read about a lot of problems with the Lollipop-Update on the Edge I - for the time being - do not want to update. My Problem:
I forgot to switch off the automatic update function on my Edge and now it downloaded the Lollipop-update. I marked the "install later" - option but now it constantly reminds me when I switch it on after some time at idle and the Update-notification cannot be cleared in the status-bar.
Question: does anybody know how to get rid of this ? My Edge is NOT rooted (nor will I), I just wish to have it like it is with KitKat since it is my main work-tool and I have NO SECOND to spend to fiddle around with problems after an update. It works perfect for me as it is ..........................
This worked for me. Still running kit Kat without prompting to update.

Take these people's "issues " with a grain of salt. 99.9% of people's issues are users error. Period. Update is running absolutely awesome. Battery is the same as it was on kk, it's smoother, looks better, and just overall improved. End of story.
Can second that. Most issues like overheating, battery drain turned out to be due to the system indexing the files, and running all sorts of stuff in the background. All got sorted out by itself in a day or so.
Anyway, you might try clearing the cache from recovery.
Else, only option I know of is what has been posted above already.

UI Inconsistencies on 10.3 for different devices.

Hello everybody, Happy New Year to all! First post on here after a few years but I never left XDA without an answer till now. My question is about the color of the notifications and the Quick Toggles drop-down menu. I was on beta 3 (The *new* Beta 3, on Android 10) and my notifications and Quick Toggles finally became true black like I always wanted them to be. I didn't think much of it, just welcomed the change. Problem is, I then decided to backup my phone and install 10.3 stable, 2 days after it came out, via local upgrade. I backed up my phone and installed, rebooted and was greeted with a phone with all its data but reporting 10.6 (and having grey notifications and Quick Toggles). I knew that *shouldn't* happen and since I'd already backed up everything, I decided to wipe everything and reinstall. Problem was, the only rollback package I managed to find was 9.0.2 and that was after hours upon hours of searching. I installed the package via Local Upgrade and wiped everything from the stock recovery, booted into it fine and set up my phone. I then installed all OTAs back up to 10.3. Phone booted up fine and everything seemed normal. EXCEPT, for the fact my UI is pretty much how it was on Pie. I watched videos of OP6s with 10.3 having all black notifications and Quick Toggles and read posts from other users in Reddit and OnePlus forums where they either had the same UI as me or the all black one. I've read multiple, very differing accounts from users of the same phone on the same software and also noticed this inconsistency myself but I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere, no one seems to know how the UI is supposed to be and I don't know enough about how Android works to know what actually controls this part of the OS's looks. I'm starting to believe I did something wrong but although I've been through many roms, mods and magisk modules, I don't actually know what to do this time. Any insight, advice, help or guidance, would be really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Notification in Notification after Pie update

Hi,
after updating my HTC U11 to the official HTC Android Pie Europe release, so far the only real problem i found is, that for some reason the commute notification of google maps are now shown as a notification within a notification. Before the updated they worked fine. If you don´t know what that is supposed to mean, see here:
imgur.com/SQ27lSW
So far that only happens to the commute notifications. Pressing on either of the settings buttons only leads to the commute settings where i can disable the notification completly, which is not what i want.
Before the update it was only one notification with the map in a size where you could actually see something straight from the notification.
I already tried deactivating the function and activating it a few days later withouth any difference. I also tried clearing the cache and data, as it is set as a system app so that is the closest i could get to an uninstall.
As far as i know, i can´t really make a useful bug report through the app itself, as it is a notification i can hardyl make a screenshot of with the integrated bug report tool.
I also tried looking at the notification logs, but could´t see anything out of the ordinary with my simple knowledge of it: imgur.com/Fk9U0dk
After living with this "problem" for the last few months, I wanted to see if someone had the same problem and maybe found a solution in the mean time, which lead me here in the hope of finding such an answer
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi.
Last week I decided to reflash my U11, it's a Europe Pie version too, aka HTC__034. I had several bugs, with apps crashing like Google Assistant, the Dialer (unable to type a number or letter) and others. Flashing the RUU went fine and I got rid of those bugs, and even got better SOT than before (from 4 to 5 hours).
Reading your message, I just realized that I also got rid of another bug I had with the Google Phone dialer app. It also had such nested notifications when I received a call. Now it works fine.
So maybe flashing the RUU could solve your problem.
Hi kurtschmeichel,
thanks for the quick answer.
From what i read, flashing the RUU also clears all your data and settings, or did I get that wrong? As this is currently the only "problem" I have, I think I will not take this route as this entails a lot of reconfiguring.
Yes your phone will be "like new". You have to backup ALL your data before flashing a RUU.
