Theifspy&Pop-ups - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm rooted, stock 4.4.4, GB, Franco and the whole 9. I had TheifSpy on for a lil over a month, during that time i would get a pop-up saying Device-Management (TheifSpy) has stopped. Didn't get a chance to pay for the full version so didn't pay any mind to it, thinking they just wanted me to hurry up and pay for full version. In the last couple of weeks i started to get not only that pop-up but also these pop-ups too, com.google.process.location and Google Play services has stopped. Sent the report that came with the pop-ups thinking maybe something on google end. 4 days ago i then got a another pop-up from google that i should remove TheifSpy cause my can be spy on or something like dat. I try to do some research on this but didn't get any answer so i just gone on ahead and remove it thinking I can re-install it later and the pop-ups would stop but it didn't now. Now after every reboot i get the com.google.process.location & google play services in clusters before it stops and now i notice my weather app is stuck on a city i haven't bee since early last week, also i still my light for emails & texts work but not for my miss calls now too. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Factory reset.

Thanks, sorry bout taking to long reply but i did the wipe and use TI to put back my apps/settings back and the same thing was still happening so i started troubleshoot and found the culprit it was Xposed Mod Disable Location Consent. Took awhile but i got it done, so thanks again.

Stock ROM: crash / reboot every 9 days 9 hrs 30 min

My stock ROM crashes (or auto-reboots) every 9 days 9 hrs 30min like a clock.
It happened for at least third time in a row, or most likely it is going on like this all the time because I only noticed this odd behavior when I installed a little "uptime" app. After 3 times obviously that's not coincidence, something is causing my phone to crash or reboot every 9d 9hrs 30min.
Has anyone else notice or had same problem?
Stock rom, locked/unrooted, with stock apps and very few extra apps installed, after previous crash I removed almost everything I had installed in the past, I kept only AirDroid, ColReader, Google Drive, File Manager, Mobo player, Skype, SPB TV, TeamViewer - nothing else, yet it still crashed. I can't figure out is it ROM or any of the apps.
edit - perhaps I should have posted in ROM development... Moderator, please move it?
I wish I could help but I've never been able to stay on the stock ROM for that long.
But....no, you've posted in the right place. Put it in developement and it'll get moved to HERE.
There's a TMobile app on there that monitors the days until suggested reboot (7 days) and will then proceed to "warn" you consistently when you're over that period. It is possible that this app is clashing with one of your other apps or doing something in the phone - maybe using too much memory? /shrug
My phone does the exact same thing after a week but it doesn't reboot, it just randomly "soft-crashes" after I hit the back or home key while playing a game or backing out of dialer, apps, etc.
It's extremely annoying and happens whether I have few apps or my normal stock of apps; the only time it doesn't happen at all is after a factory reset (if I don't update anything).
The only thing I can do to stop it is to reboot the phone, as suggested on the 7th day...as soon as I see that notification, I reboot and so far so good.
Good Luck.

Call sounds like it's under water after a couple of minutes....

Got my One yesterday, received and made calls for the first time today - each time after a couple of minutes it started to distort and sound like the other person was underwater. Once, after hanging up and phoning straight back it continued to sound 'underwatery'. Leaving it a couple of minutes between calls would clear it up before it started again.
Has anyone else had this problem? I suspect/am hoping it's a software issue, something interfering with the Phone app. I'm running stock CM11S updated to the newest version.
If it is a software issue u can report it here it it not already there

I'm more hoping that it's something I've installed that's made it happen - it seems that if I'm the only one that's having this issue then it must be something on my phone. For example, I had about three system apps I don't use greenified (obviously not the phone app!). I've undone them and restarted the phone, going to see how it goes. Shortly after first posting this I managed to go about ten minutes until I got the underwater sound, but it has still happened every single time. Thanks for your help, though - all suggestions are welcome!
On the off-chance that anybody else ever has this issue, I think I found what it was - Greenify Experimental + Donation option to do with telephony wake. I also disabled greenifying of system apps, so it could have been that but I don't think so as the phone app was not greenified. Either way I have made several phone calls, some of which have lasted 30 - 40 minutes (thanks to a touch of debit card fraud almost at my expense) and the issue seems to be resolved.

Talkback notification won't go away

For some reason, the talkback service has decided to tell me it is activated even though it is not. I have a persistent notification that won't go away. Since it's a system service, there is no way to just hide the notification. Any ideas?
Clearing the cache and rebooting didn't help either.
Did you ever figure this out I have the same problem on sprint. You can't even disable the Talkback app.
Nope. I did a factory/hard reset last night. Still the same issue.
I haven't installed any apps I didn't have on my GS5, so it can't be an app's fault. Going to do an exchange at the AT&T store in the next day or two. I'm not getting stuck with something like this.

This would be a workaround (if it does work), but try tapping and holding on the notification, and then click on the "i" icon to see which app is displaying the notification. If it's a stand-alone app (i.e. not the Android system), then you should be able to block notifications for that app.

Thank you, but it is the system app doing it. I'm just going to swap for a different S6 at the store tomorrow. Got my app data backed up to the cloud thanks to Helium.
The messed up part is it literally happened right when I got my phone. I'm gonna try a factory reset then if not try to get it swapped out
@dizzymatt Still have it? It mysteriously disappeared for me today. I was literally going to go to the store this afternoon to exchange this thing. Maybe I got lucky or sensed I was coming!
Afterward, though, the oddest thing happened. I was looking through the store for a different Google product and came across this one called Google talkback. I thought that was very weird to find right after I had had this issue. When I clicked on it, it allowed me to uninstall it. Never saw it in my apps list or the application manager, but there it was. Again, this is after the notification went away from me so I have no idea if this is related.
Here is the link. Maybe uninstalling it will help you.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.marvin.talkback
Seen what you said and I didn't have the app installed but it just disappeared for me too after I rebooted my phone I wonder what it was.

Now I'm wondering if it was related to Google Now since the notification and the ability to say "Ok, Google from any screen went away about the same time.
Disabling Talk back
I got stuck on a 15 minute hell ride when I accidentally turned on my Talkback feature on my new S6. I couldn't turn it off even after toggling the stupid settings. I finally was able to turn it off by tapping the home screen button three times.. apparently that is the On/Off switch for the accessibility features. After it finally stopped talking back to me I went in to manually toggle the off button on that ridiculous feature.
Same problem / solved ?
I had same problem with notification
Decided I would try enable, so that I could then disable
Seems to have done the job

One plus one on cm12.1.1 Google play stopping

Well here's the issue. Every 3-5 seconds in clusters I get a Google play services has stopped working. The phone is unrooted. On cm 12.1.1. I thought it might have had something to do with my privacy guard being active. I have all Google play apps prevented from keep awake or wake up. Because that bring my battery life down from 3ish days to 12 hours. Its pretty power hungry as I'm sure most everyone is aware.
Either way it doesn't change if I take it off of the privacy guard. I have uninstalled the app. Reinstalled it. Etc. Removed updates. Followed endless guides. And it hasn't helped a bit. No matter what happens to the phone. As soon as I hit cm 12 I have it going off endlessly. Its worse right after an update. I'll get it popping up hundreds of times a day. Sometimes up to 10 times in 30 seconds.
My dad who has a opo has the same problem. I'm really pissed about this. And when you go to read the error report it does not make sense to me. Maybe someone can help me solve this b4 I put it through a wall.

Why does my Google Pixel randomly reboot?

Hi. My device worked just perfect until 5 days ago. It slowly began to ignore some tasks like opening apps or doing calls.
2 days ago my google pixel with Android 8.0 started to ignore every input i made, like opening apps or trying to reboot. It behaving like this after taking some pictures with the rear cam. After some attepts in opening apps it started to reboot. But instead of a normal reboot it stuck in a booting screen (the one with the Google G and a gray animation bar underneath). It took a while and i waited until it seemed that the OS booted correctly. But after this my device started to reboot randomly after a few minutes. After a while i figured out, that i can hold the power button while the screen with the google G was up to reboot it normally. This worked so that the phone was at least half an hour or more working until it rebooted again out of nowhere.
So far i tried to get it in safe mode and delete some apps like whatts app etc. In safe mode i didnt notice any crashes so far.... but in normal one it does a lot so deleting apps wasnt helpful. Turning on flight mode was not helpful either.
What can I do? What could it be?

Same thing happens with my Pixel, sometimes the phone is just get stuck on some random screen then I have to press and hold it for 15 seconds to let it reboot again. Lately I have started to see another problem, when it reboots bunch of google apps and services stops working and gives hell lot of notifications. All this started to happen after Android Oreo update

I noticed problems with my ear speaker as well. And i cant make phone calls. The phone doent respond anymore when i try to.
Same problem after android 8.0 update
If you have installed the latest Google phone/dialer app, that is likely the problem, was for me.
Find the app in settings and uninstall,it will roll back to a previous version and hopefully fix your issues.

My pixel does the same thing, ever since I updated to 8.0, have you tried doing a factory reset? I haven't done it yet, I have been uninstalling apps for the last couple of days, when it is in safe mode it works good, but when it's not, it freezes and restarts. I'm going to try uninstalling the latest version on google dialer to see if it helps.
I just want to update everyone in case you are having a problem with the random reboots.
I uninstalled the phone update and it was still randomly rebooting so I backed up the stuff that I needed and just did a factory reset. I have been a full day on my phone without any problems. I did a factory reset twice, just in case, for some crazy reason, the phone still had a problem, I wiped it twice! I think you'll be good with only wiping once.
Anyways to sum it all up, I did a factory reset, restored all of my backed up data from my pixel, I had about 120 apps and the phone has not had a problem since. I hope it helps someone else.

Mate, please report if you're still getting the reboots. Mine disappear for two weeks after I do a factory reset and then come back. Same happens in Safe Mode. Bug report claims it's 'Sense Key : Hardware Error [current]' and Google rep says it's a hardware issue (Toshiba's memory or something). Buganiser thread is here.
wrong place sry
Had this on my pixel xl. I was on the 8.1 beta.
factory reset, rolled back to 8.0
8.1 ota official
haven't had a reboot in over a week now

Yea, the issue is back, has been for about 2 weeks. This phone is really starting to be a pain in the ass, I can't believe that it happens so often. Did you do a warranty fix?
That's a pity. Yes, I did. Got the device roughly two and a half weeks ago. Flashed 8.0 and then sideloaded 8.1 right away. Knock on wood, all good. But there's still a report every other day in Buganiser of a phone even on 8.1 doing this.
Got mine at release. November 16. Google won't replace it either. I have a one pixel brick
I have the same problem. However, it is not frequent enough on Android P beta. But as soon as I go back to the stable build, it starts to do the same thing. Did you guys have any luck resolving this or should I send it back to the vendor I bought it from. They won't replace the device in Pakistan but may be will fix it in some manner.
