This is Dev Section, not Q&A Section. You have opened the thread in the wrong section. I've asked a moderator to move it. Please try to read forum rules, this is how we can keep it well structured and helpful for others.
Now, related to your issue, flashing a ROM shouldn't have anything to do with your CID. You should be able to flash any ROM that's made for 2.15 hboot.
Where do you get problems? When flashing the ROM or after that because it's not booting? You didn't detail the steps you do when flashing also you didn't specified any errors so I presume ROM is flashing OK and you have phone stuck on boot logo or animation after that (correct me if I'm wrong). Well this it's mainly because of your S-On flag. You MUST flash separately in fastboot the ROMs kernel after each ROM you flash in recovery, or else it won't boot

MaximusHD is a 2.16 hboot ROM. You shouldn't flash it and run on 2.15. So that's why you have issues with it.
Viper or CM11 are OK to flash on your hboot but as I said you MUST flash the kernel in fastboot AFTER you flash the ROM in recovery. Did you do that?
To flash kernel in fastboot, you must extract boot.img from the ROM zip, place it on your PC. Then after flashing ROM, reboot to bootloader, connect your USB and go to FASTBOOT. You should see FASTBOOT USB on screen. Then issue from a command prompt opened in the location of you ADB comand the following: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Have you done that? If not, ROM won't boot

Don't forget to do this after each ROM flash. Since you're S-On, kernel partition is not writeable in recovery, only in fastboot

Hi Guys,
Decided to put a new rom on my daughters HTC ONE X (my old phone), and right royally stuffed it up.
Was going to put a new hboot on as the one I had I thought was old, but now I've wiped the recover (TWRP) and can't seem to get it back. Phone was Telstra.

Place the recovery.img in you folder where your adb is located, reboot your phone into bootloader and select fastboot. Plug the device into your computer. If you have the right drivers installed, your screen should now say FASTBOOT USB. Run the following command via the command line:
fastboot flash recovery "recoveryfilename.img" In this command line make sure to rename recoveryfilename to which match the name of the the version you are using
example: fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-evita.img
after it has finished reboot
More information required. Please post your bootloader details (I'm mostly interested in the top line where it says tampered/locked/unlocked/relocked), what ROM you flashed, what recovery you flashed, and the method used to flash both.
PS. Questions go in the q&a section. I've asked for this to be moved for you.
[EDIT] What venomtester has said above is the correct procedure, but we still need the info I've requested to troubleshoot effectively.

What have I tried, lots (to be honest). I started to use Hasoon2000 v2.5 great utility (ONE X), I have tried the flash FactoryRUU, tried CWM, TWRP, but still no luck.
Not sure if the hboot version is causing all the problem, but tried to update that, unsuccessfully (probably to do with s-off).
good news is I can talk to the phone with fastboot, get back results etc.. Just tried to flash openrecovery-twrp-2.4.0.0-endeavoru.img, it seems to flash ok with fastboot, but when I reboot to recovery, I can see the brown bar at the top right of the screen run twice, but then nothing else happens, just sits on the white 'HTC quitely brilliant, this build is for' ... screen.

That's your problem right there. You tried to flash TWRP for the ENDEAVORU (quad core version) when your phone is the EVITA (dual core).

Thanks mate for pointing me in the right direction. I'll try the right file
I really should stop doing this kind of work at 5:00am in the morning!
just a quick question, if I download the correct twrp, should I just have to fastboot it and overwrite what I have done, or do I need to do anything prior before flashing the correct one?

Thanks guys, all working well now!
HI Guys
So my mate's phone won't boot up and I'd really appreciate some assistance. The last thing I did was unlock the phone via htcdev. But that's all I could do. Now I can't flash a recovery (I've tried a few) because I get an IMAGE UPDATE ERROR. I've also received a "SIGNATURE VERIFY FAIL" error.
Also, adb won't recognise my device but fastboot does.
What I'm trying to do is install a custom rom because my mate was complaining that his phone was slow and a bit laggy. I sold the phone to him in the first place so I've taken it upon myself to fix it.
Thanks guys, let me know if you need any further info.

First of all, we need some information about your phone.
I need : what kind(k2u, k2ul and so on)
Then what you have already done.
Then the other things (best of all you copy all information from your boot loader)
Edit: okay skript point 2 xD

With regards to what I have already done, I tried to flash TWRP recovery but I got an image update error.
Mhh do you flash the right TWRP?
And use fastboot flash recovery *recovery name*?
Do you have any data's to loose?
Kreumadragon
yeah I flashed a few different TWRPs and none of them worked.. if there is a specific one and if you have a link, I could try again?
nope i don't need any data to lose. I have removed the sd card. Thanks again.
Anyone? Still having no luck with this phone.
Please test (if you want) the cwm recovery. Link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37075457
If this doesn't work flash a ruu and try again
Kreumadragon
There is no RUU out which will work and also the cwm is outdated.
How did you flash recovery?
Use the one i recommended in my index thread. This should work on your hboot.
An other option is to get s off and flash it via pl**img.zip isn't it?
Kreumadragon
You need a working OS for S-off. Not sure if that is working here.
@Old
You have s off, haven't you?
And I get s off with hboot 2.21
Kreumadragon
I don't have One SV anymore.
Rumrunner works on hboot 2.21.
He says that he didn't have data's to loose
theoretically you can create an ........IMG.zip file with all files a ruu use, only the recovery is changed? Think I can make one but first want to read what you think(old)
Kreumadragon
As long as he is S-on you don't need to make anything.
Right now he can only flash signed firmware by HTC this way.
Okay, thx I don't know
Actually no ruu for any kind of k2ul?
Kreumadragon
Only one. And you must be S-off or on ICS to use that.
@CJ_
Do you have test old.s method?
If this doesn't work, you probably need SOff.
Kreumadragon
Hi old.splatterhand, to answer your question, I flashed the latest TWRP recovery (2.8. something) but I got the following IMAGE UPDATE ERROR. Will try the ones in your index and report back.
Thanks for your help guys.
Will try it now... If that doesn't work, how do I get S-Off when I can't do anything with the phone?

I downloaded and flashed the latest TWRP 2.8 recovery, but when I try to boot to recovery, it marks the usual booting to recovery screen, and then goes to boot the rom, but in the rom i have no display.

I tried the recent recoveries, until I flashes TWRP 2.6.3.0, it worked, but I don't know which rom to use, looks like this phone is stuck with a very old firmware, so this explains why I have no screen when it boots the current rom, but everything else is working... need to find an old 2012 ROM to revive this baby, and make the sim unlock...
EDIT: Ok, I can't find an old stock based rom, i'm on 1.85 firmware, S-ON, bootloader unlocked and 222222222 cid? What I need to do to be on a recent firmware? I don't want to hardbrick my phone...
First thing you need to do is get s-off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155071
But you need a booting phone for it to work.

I booted the phone with CM10, do I need to be on a stock based rom to the s-off procedure?
I've achieved Facepalm s-off while on an aosp ROM, so it should be fine.

Hi I just wanted to try the Maximus HD 10 and thought I did what was expected but something went wrong and now the phone is totally blank.. I am new to this but read alot in this forum before I began and I am used to computers etc. so I gave it a shot.. This is what I did:
Installed the Windroid Universal Toolkit to unlock the phone, and that went well. Then followed the instructions to install the Maximus HD 10 which also went well until I had to install the newer firmware.. From here things went really bad and after a lot of different wipes and things that I don't know anything about I am stuck with an useless device
I have searched all forums (I think) but with no luck, so if anyone know what I should do I would be really thankful.
And no.. I do not have a backup!!

If I reboot the phone I only see the HTC start screen for a few seconds and then nothing.. It has TWRP on it which I can enter.
Please help me!
If you have TWRP you might download any ROM and flash it but since you're S-On don't forget to flash kernel in fastboot mode after you flash the ROM.
Kernel is the boot.img file on the root of the ROM zip. Extract it to PC and while in fastboot issue the "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command.
For changing firmware you need S-Off which you don't have. To gain it you should flash first a close to stock ROM (like Viper for ex) then try to gain S-Off with rumrunner or another method. Then you can flash firmwares

Don't forget to do that after every ROM flash. If you'll get S-Off, you won't need to do that anymore

Hey there people!
I just got a HTC Sensation, which is currently bricked on 3.33.401.53, S-ON, unlocked bootloader and a CID = Y13.
I can't find anywhere on the internet, even on paying sites, the correct RUU to restore it, and I can't use any RUU because it's CID-locked and S-ON...
I can flash a custom recovery (I tried TWRP), but of course I can't flash any custom ROM because the phone is S-ON.
Is there any way I can save it, or am I left with a somehow expensive paperweight?

If you are using TWRP you need to flash the boot.img from your PC
4EXT Recovery allows you to flash the boot.img without a PC
Go to Tools in the menu of this receiver and scroll to the bottom and click "Enable 4EXT Smartflash".
You can also with S-ON and Unlock change the CID with the command
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC_A07
and flash Europe RUU
I have attached 4EXT Recovery to the attachment
Also with the help of this script under Windows you can get Root rights on the stock ROM and perform S-OFF with JuopunutBear
Then get SuperCID and SuperMID and forget about all restrictions
Also you cannot install RUU with S-ON and Unlocked bootloader
To install RUU you need:S-ON and Locked (use fastboot oem lock) or S-OFF and it does not matter Locked or Unlocked
