Speaker audio comes out on earpiece instead - Galaxy Note 3 General

Recently upgraded to KitKat SM-900W8 Bell
I<m having to reboot my phone a couple times a day because my audio comes out of my earpiece instead of my speaker, and if my phone rings I don't hear it anymore.
I googled and found this problem happened on the Note 2, but cant find anything for Note 3. I'd like to avoid doing a factory reset,
any suggestions?

[Q] Sound not working over loud speaker

[NEVERMIND...I GOT IT WORKING. IT SEEMS LIKE A BAD CONNECTION TO THE SPEAKER. IF I PUSH DOWN ON IT, IT WORKS FINE.]
This morning I was listening to one of my podcasts through bluetooth (A2DP). When I was done, I turned bluetooth off to bring the sound back to the phone. I wanted to show someone a youtube video. It was playing fine through the phones on-board speaker and then all of the sudden it just stopped playing the audio. The video was still playing. Initially I thought it was just a youtube thing but then I tried the music player and no audio would play over the phones speaker. I then tried rebooting the phone. Still no luck. I then used ROM manager to restore one of my backups. No luck. And yes, I have checked all volume levels and they are all turned up. The in call speaker works just fine but speaker phone does not. Any suggestions?? Bad speaker/connection? Do I need to go back to the shipped ROM and unroot the phone?
Push down on what?
I am having the exact same issue!!!
Phone calls work fine. But, no sound from speakers.
So I dont hear any notifications, cant put the phone on speaker, no alarm sound, etc.
ok.
i was able to resolve the issue. I had to push down hard on the speaker with my thumb, and wala!!! it started working.
i did a factory reset though... arrrrrgghhh... i wish i had tried this before the dang factory reset. Oh well, atleast the sound is working now.
I had this problem when I bought my Captivate and installed a clear plastic case made by Incipio. The case had a really tight fit. I believe it was squeezing the Captivate housing which causes the speaker to not make a connection to the circuit board. I found out when I was just playing around with ringtones and suddenly I couldn't hear anything coming out of the speaker. I rebooted the phone and even the animated AT&T and Galaxy S logos didn't make a sound. I played an MP3 and still no sound until I lightly tap the phone against my palm. I got the sound back. This happened again when I was showing a video to my friends. The sound cut off. I tapped the phone against my palm again. I got the sound back.
The following morning, I removed the case and played an entire album through the speakers. I did not encounter any speaker problems. I concluded that it must have been the tight case by Incipio which I had purchased at the AT&T store. I returned it and got the Body Glove gel case. Better.

External Speaker suddenly stopped working

Hello everyone!
My external speaker suddenly stopped working. So now I cant go handsfree, I dont hear rings of incoming phones, or any sound that comes thru the external speaker.
Funnily the vibration during incoming calls doesnt come either. But it still vibrates while navigating thru menus.
I think a hardware reset might do the trick, but I cant tell before tomorrow, since I need to backup my files first.
Or is there a known bug with latest mango or a htc specific bug?
Okay vibration seems to work as it should, maybe I didnt feel it the first time I tested it.
Just now I had a moment where I heard menu sounds and then I quickly tried to play a ringtone which also came thrru the speakers but as you can guess, it stopped working again...
more update after the hardware reset tomorrow
It may just be the speaker blown out like mine did only 5 weeks after purchase. Not a big deal, the speaker is the same one as HTC EVO so a replacement part is easy to do yourself or through the Phone Carrier store (that has a repair center).
Since replacement mine has been fine since. When it was blown, it still worked, but was painful to listen to.
Ok thx. I will do that. I hoped it was some software error.
Taking my Arrive in today for the same thing. It just blew a few days ago, and any sound coming out of the external speaker just sounds distorted and garbled.

[Q] No sound during call unless on loudspeaker.

I have a LG E900 (Updated to the latest software). It is also on a fresh reset right now as I tried to fix the problem. Basically, the phone rings, I answer but can't hear or say anything. Texts are fine and it even calls when put on loudspeaker sometimes.
Any ideas?
Your phone is stuck in headphone mode.
Push and pull 3.5mm headset to the audio jack several times might fix it.
I'll try that. It freezes sometimes when I answer though.
Same happened with my HTC HD7 last month. I RMA'd it and got brand new phone.
I've already returned it. I might need to again. Has anyone any idea?

[Q] Incall sound disappeared...

Hello Everyone,
I have been using HTC Sensation for a good 3 months and no problem at all so far. The phone is rooed and uisng Insertcoin 2.4.1 Rom. 3 days ago while in a call, the sound faded away and since then there is some times sound coming from the ear piece sometimes not. Even the call starts succesfully loud and suddenly sound disappears. I have tried everything i know, reflashing, trying another Rom, formatting the SD card and not installing any software etc...During the call, i can communicate if i turn the speaker on or plug in the earphones. I belive that there is a bug that commands the phone to shut the earpiece and divert the sound either to speaker or the earphones.
Anyone ever has/had this kind of problem?
Thanks in advance!
Gokhan

Im having the same Problem, but i observed that the sound doesn't come back randomly, the earpiece speaker seems to shutdown a while after the display gets turned off due to the proximity sensor. I tried different ROMs, and got the same result, i guess it's a hardware problem. Would you tell me, if you get the exact same Problem, meaning you check if sound disappears when you're having it close to the head?
Thank you

How to fix Stuttering Audio on Galaxy S6?

Hi, I've been struggling to find a fix to my issue on my new Samsung Galaxy S6. When I play audio over the internal speaker, it stutters for anywhere between 5 seconds and a few minutes. It doesn't matter where the audio comes from, it just does it. However a call on speaker phone doesn't do it.
I have tried to turn off the adaptive audio in the settings and it helped, but didn't make it go away. I put my phone on the charger and it stopped for a little while, but came back. It doesn't stutter if I put in headphones or if I put it over Bluetooth speakers. It also doesn't matter if it's on vibrate, silent, or ringer. It's done it since the day I got it a few months ago.
I just have a basic Samsung Galaxy S6, with the normal OS and everything. I haven't tinkered with anything.
