External Speaker suddenly stopped working - HTC 7 Pro

Hello everyone!
My external speaker suddenly stopped working. So now I cant go handsfree, I dont hear rings of incoming phones, or any sound that comes thru the external speaker.
Funnily the vibration during incoming calls doesnt come either. But it still vibrates while navigating thru menus.
I think a hardware reset might do the trick, but I cant tell before tomorrow, since I need to backup my files first.
Or is there a known bug with latest mango or a htc specific bug?

Okay vibration seems to work as it should, maybe I didnt feel it the first time I tested it.
Just now I had a moment where I heard menu sounds and then I quickly tried to play a ringtone which also came thrru the speakers but as you can guess, it stopped working again...
more update after the hardware reset tomorrow

It may just be the speaker blown out like mine did only 5 weeks after purchase. Not a big deal, the speaker is the same one as HTC EVO so a replacement part is easy to do yourself or through the Phone Carrier store (that has a repair center).
Since replacement mine has been fine since. When it was blown, it still worked, but was painful to listen to.

Ok thx. I will do that. I hoped it was some software error.

Taking my Arrive in today for the same thing. It just blew a few days ago, and any sound coming out of the external speaker just sounds distorted and garbled.

Is my HTC touch Pro Faulty? No/VERY low sound.

Gday guys i just got my mobile yesterday, left it on charge for a few hours and woke up and started getting to used it.
Although i have noticed that playing mp3's, ringtones (and well anything using the external speaker. Ie the phone ringing when a incoming call is coming) are VERY VERY soft from the speaker, in audable unless you have the rear of the phone jammed into ur ear...and lets face it who carries there phone like that?
Strapped to there ear??
I think the speaker is faulty...
I purchased this phone from "3" on a plan, so i think i should go back to the store and get a new phone. I do not want this one repaired, as it should fall under the DOA factor i think.
But i would just like confirmation that this phone is indeed faulty.
Thank you.
Just did a Hard Reset, fixed the sound right up....very werid tho.
Oh well just put on Romeos v1.51

speaker not working properly anymore

The speaker on my fuze doesn't really work unless I sometimes tap it lightly, and even then it crackles. it started happening suddenly a few days ago. its really annoying because I can't hear incoming calls anymore, and the speakerphone feature doesn't work either. I'm using NATF's 3.4 ROM, and have been since it came out, but this only started suddenly. I've noticed a small "popping" noise ever time I get an incoming text/call/ or some type of incoming signal.
I think its obvious that this is a hardware problem. If I remember correctly, I think HTC devices come with a 1 year manufactuer's warrenty. Maybe I can make use of it?
Would I also have to unflash the phone and bring it to factory settings?
bump? can someone please give me some advice?
same problem...
speaker
Same problem, speaker stops working then works.
same problem, Mine finally went out all together, and I can only hear it when my ear is RIGHT NEXT TO THE SPEAKER....its very low...I need to go ahead and try to get a warranty replacement.
I suggest contacting ATT ASAP. even if you didn't purchase a replacement plan, HTC provides a warrenty for a certain amount of days. As long as your phone isn't otherwise damaged you can send it back
I did it, and got a newphone in about 4 days (though you can get expedited shipping for $12)

Speakerphone not functional

Any suggestions as to why speakerphone wouldn't be working? Or just return it and get a 3rd replacement? Having such bad luck with this phone for some odd reason. I want to like this device and I do but having to replace it for a 3rd time is starting to make me have second thoughts about keeping this device.
Reboot, check your sound settings, turn up the volume, play some music, call a friend. Still not work? I'd return that one as well. Your whole batch at AT&T may be bad.
has to be a bad phone my speakerphone is great
Don't get me wrong the Speaker is Great with Music just No one can hear me when I throw the phone onto speaker phone. Looks like I got another phone to return.
Had the same problem with my wife's atrix. Speaker just stopped working. Went to AT&T and they replaced phone with new one.
This happened to me too, the speakerphone use to work fine then a couple days ago no one can hear me at all. So annoying.

[Q] Incall sound disappeared...

Hello Everyone,
I have been using HTC Sensation for a good 3 months and no problem at all so far. The phone is rooed and uisng Insertcoin 2.4.1 Rom. 3 days ago while in a call, the sound faded away and since then there is some times sound coming from the ear piece sometimes not. Even the call starts succesfully loud and suddenly sound disappears. I have tried everything i know, reflashing, trying another Rom, formatting the SD card and not installing any software etc...During the call, i can communicate if i turn the speaker on or plug in the earphones. I belive that there is a bug that commands the phone to shut the earpiece and divert the sound either to speaker or the earphones.
Anyone ever has/had this kind of problem?
Thanks in advance!
Gokhan
I have the same problem with my s2, any solution?

Im having the same Problem, but i observed that the sound doesn't come back randomly, the earpiece speaker seems to shutdown a while after the display gets turned off due to the proximity sensor. I tried different ROMs, and got the same result, i guess it's a hardware problem. Would you tell me, if you get the exact same Problem, meaning you check if sound disappears when you're having it close to the head?
Thank you

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Captivate - No sound from earpiece/media, but other sounds work

Hi Forum,
This is my first post so forgive me if this is in the wrong place
My phone is roughly a year old, and today I ran into a weird and potentially phone killing problem
I received a few phone calls from my girlfriend today, the ringer rang loud and clear, but I heard no sound from my ear piece. After a few "Hello?"s, I hung up thinking it was a bad connection. Upon seeing my girlfriend afterwards, she said she heard me on my end. So I got her to call me again and I tried to use speaker phone, and I could hear her fine.
Doing some research on google, I only ran across one other person who had this problem, and upon seeing this, I tested my music player, (as theirs didn't work), and mine doesn't work either
This other person said the problem resolved itself a day later.
In short, my ear piece has no sound during a phone call and my media sound doesn't work (though it works w/ headphones.) My notification sounds and speaker phone DO work
Do the notification and speaker phone speakers come from a different place than media and ear piece speakers?
Do I have a software issue?
Should I wait like the other person?
Any suggestions?
Thanks forum!
Were you able to resolve this issue by any chance?
