Can someone tell me how to modify how the nexus 5 scans for lte.? I would like to change how often My phone scans for LTE. I was able to do this on my evo 4g LTE so I figured it would be possible to change on the nexus 5. I'm having problems connecting to a certain LTE tower and I figured I'd give this a short to see if it makes a difference. Thanks to those who might reply

Go to Google play store and download the app called Network signal speed booster by mcstealth and run it.....I been running it for a day and noticed a increase in signal strength and a definite decrecase in 4g dropouts......not a complete fix but it definitely helped a lot...hope it's not just coincidence cause its only been a day of using the app but I thought I'd share anything that seems to help....

There are many different ones. Which one did you get?

Another thing is if your are in a 3G only area, go into phone info app and select GSM/CDMA Auto PRL. Then switch back in a 4G area for 4G signal.
Speaking of CM10

I've already selected LTE as the network mode under mobile network settings, but as I type this I'm on 3G. I know I get 4G in this area, but it's not exactly the best. My goal is to stay connected to LTE even when the signal is worse than 3G. I did this on my Galaxy S3 by toggling the LTE setting that CyanogenMod 10.2 allows you to do from the quick settings panel, but the stock Nexus 5 ROM doesn't have that option.
How can I force my Nexus 5 to stay connected to LTE even when the signal is worse than 3G?

It should prefer LTE all the time. Make sure your APN is correct for LTE on your carrier.

In you dialer, enter *#*#4636#*#*, after that you should see a menu popup, select phone information...scroll down and you should see a drop down menu, change from the default GSM/LTE to LTE only

I could be wrong, but I think doing that will not allow you to get calls or texts, because those run off gsm.

Did you find a fix? I'm having the same issue where it's not sticking.
Hey guys, so I know a lot of people have been having problems with getting signal with the nexus 5 especially on rogers
What I found to help a little bit is if I change my network to 3g/2g
Sucks tho because I don't use LTE
Anyone else find solutions?

So frustrating. Rogers here to. It's not network related since it's happening in the US as well.

I use signal check pro. Since getting my n5 I have normally seen umts when the 3g icon is showing. All of the sudden today I am seeing wcdma when the 3g icon appears. I have never seen the wcdma before today. Now I'm seeing that in places around town that would always be umts. Can anyone explain why this would happen? It doesn't seem to be affecting my data though. Thanks

I seen where mystery ROM has what is called LTE mod. Does anyone know what this means? My phone had trouble connecting to LTE on a certain tower and I thought maybe it was something that might help. Thanks to those who may reply

sounds more like a buzzword that they are using. like adding lines to the build.prop and calling it their LTE mod.

oh, lol
There is a menu to change how often the LTE gets scanned for. With sprint a person would use ##3282# and it would take me to the menu with an HTC evo 4g LTE. So I'm sure all phones have this menu. I just don't know how to get to it with nexus 5.

there is a menu like that on the nexus 5, which only works with sprint, and is disabled for all other networks.

I use t mobile. But there has to be a way on all carriers to change how the phone scans for LTE. I read that it scans once every half an hour. Bit I can't find where I found that. Lok
